Very sad news indeed, wishing him a speedy and quick recovery.

I’m really very sorry to hear that, please accept my condolences.

Yes, Rusty Spanner sums it up very well, I still have ‘moments’, I had one earlier today, they do get fewer and easier over time.

Stay strong and talk to people about her.

To add to my earlier post, I have had older helmets where the inner liner has started to come away, at that point I have binned them, I always cut the straps off old helmets so they can’t be reused.

I knew someone from MIT (Cambridge, Mass), who did some work in conjunction with NASA on helmets including M/C helmets some years back, and they concluded that 10 years was about the maximum. It tends to be the adhesive and interliner breaks down first assuming that there’s no other damage an it’s stored suitably.
I did realise a few years ago that although I’d replaced my M/C helmet several times, I was still using the same cycling helmet!

I remember this mission, seemed like Sci Fi come true, I love all the space stuff and have been lucky enough to visit the Johnson Space Centre, in Houston, Texas twice.
The first time I saw the original ‘Mission Control’ room, as seen in Apollo mission coverage, on the second visit it had been updated.
looking at all the ‘Moon Shot’ equipment it struck me how small the modules were for three men to spend all that time in, very different from most of the fictional depictions we see on film and TV?

Surely the Audi has reversing sensors and camera, how was hitting another car even possible?

They must have the same ones that Volvo fit, either that or some people just ignore them!

Oh man, really sorry to about that, it looks and sounds horrible.

I hope you heal fast and well.

I used to work for a company based in Bracknell, so had to go there quite often, I wouldn’t want to live there, but it was OK to visit once a month or so.

The last time I went was a few years ago when I had to back to my old employers site for a training course, the town centre redevelopment was still underway, not been back there since.

Honda moved it’s UK HQ from Slough to Bracknell?

Never managed to get to Swinley whilst I was there, but one day hopefully!

“Ah, the Evening Star class, Swindon’s finest locomotives!”

I beg to differ, the 6000 ‘King’ (8P) class were probably the Swindon Works finest locomotives?

It does seem poor that On One can’t supply a replacement hanger for a frame they’re still selling, but at least you’ve got one now.

    <span style=”font-size: 12.8px;”>Even</span> the Swap-out Drop<span style=”font-size: 0.8rem;”>-out idea wasn’t universal even for On One frames!</span>

I bought a spare rear hanger when I got my last bike.

We watched it on the TV then dashed outside to the ‘100’ formation and the Red Arrows fly over the airfield (Heathrow).

I wonder who he’s replacing on LBC, when the made the announcement, they mentioned he would be joining Nick Ferrari, James O’Brien, Ian Dale, the one they omitted from the weekday, daytime line up is Shelagh Fogarty, who currently presents the early afternoon 1pm – 4pm slot.

Nice one, I have the earlier 900 Scrambler, great bike like the new one, but haven’t ridden one, but a friend has the new T100 and loves it.

Just take it easy and get used to the bike and riding on the road.

Don’t get drawn in to any silly riding, ride at a pace you’re comfortable with.

I’m sure that this issue had come up before.

Have tried asking on the UK Fat Bike forum?

I’m no IT or networking guru, but we had a problem a few years ago, when trying to set up a CCTV network, turned out it was due to shared IP address from BT.

As soon as that was changed to permanent everything worked!

Done, heart braking to read, dusty here too!

Really well done to SoY for setting it all up.

I went in to Maplins yesterday, as I needed a watch battery, £3.99, not a common cell, so unable to walk in and buy one elsewhere, I usually use buy from a local independent hardware and mixed goods shop, not as cheap as on line, but convenient and useful, so I support it when I can.

<span style=”font-size: 0.8rem;”>I could have bought one on line, but not had it there and then, a couple of days wait is annoying when you want to get it done and dusted.</span>

I bought a set of outdoor LED Christmas lights last year, they were half the original price and cheaper than the DIY stores offerings.

I remember Maplins when they had a store off the Kings Road in Hammersmith, but were largely mail order, with a huge catalogue to select from.

I think there is a place for Maplins, but probably not in its current form, it filled the hole left by Tandy (Radio Shack), but hasn’t improved on it?

we had 11″ last weekend and the BM had no issues at all.

That’s one hell of a BM 525 estate with 11inches of ground clearance?
My old lifted Defender would have been near its limit at that!

Really enjoyed it, I like his style it’s not overbearing or superior, more like a down to earth mate.
Very interesting the damage to the original tank, and how many crew there were, it made me think about what it must have been like to be in one?
Well done to JCB for making the hull and sponsons and even replicating the 3000 rivets that would have held it together.
I’d like to go to the Norfolk Tank Museum and see it up close.

Offer them for collection only for a charity donation before binning/recycling them.
I don’t have every single issue, but have kept all I do have, I think the significant ones are the 1st, 100th and any anniversary ones? The last printed copy too!

Olympus SZ31MR, nice pocket sized compact, good zoom, great for shows etc.
Olympus Stylus1, a powerful zoom, packed with features, good view finder.

I still have my Canon EOS620 35mm camera, lenses and flash etc!

Going by the ones we had at work, I wouldn’t go near one, had too many quality related issues, so we now have Toyota HiLux’s, also the lease company doesn’t offer L200’s any more either.
The flywheel dropped off the crankshaft and rear diff failed on ours, another department had to have the engine replaced at quite a low mileage along with rear diff issues also.
The Toyota’s have had nothing other than bulbs and servicing so far, 3+ years in.

    ‘hydrological brakes’

Love that, aren’t they the very latest innovation?

‘Selling for a friend who doesn’t have the internet’, but does miraculously have a very expensive bike to sell and a mobile phone?

‘I don’t know much about bikes’ yet selling a Santa Cruz or Yeti or other non high street retailer supplied bike!

The last time I did it and had to pay for it, I used Heathrow’s own parking as it was very competitive and much closer to the terminal (T5) so the traveling to/from the car park was minimal.

Is there anyone offering a reconditioning parts for the forks these days. I know there was about 15-20 years ago. (Thought I’d ask an expert before googling )

Yes, Michael Woolfe runs Moulton Preservation and has been supporting the F frame Moultons for many years.
I don’t think he doesn’t do the internet thing though!

I haven’t seen one of those in a long time, worked at a couple of places that had them when I first started work.
They were the font of all knowledge when it came to knowing what was going on as they visited all departments?

Always like the Edd bits, MB’s bits have grated with me, things like calling a car seat a chair, trying to belittle the work Edd’s done until the cars completed!
When MB was on Driven CH4’s motoring show of the late ’90’s early 2000’s, he wasn’t quite so full of himself?

I wish Edd well, hope he finds success in his future ventures, he deserves it for putting up with MB for so long.

Watched it and enjoyed it, it did gloss over things a bit, but trying to cram 100+ years of history into and hour somethings were going to get squeezed?

    Jonnyboi,

Thanks for the info, I will inform my friend when I see him next Wednesday.
It seemed a bit strange to me, but I hadn’t any other information to go on.

From what I’ve been told by a friend who was interested in on and knows someone with one, the electric power won’t work if you have either the heater or air con on?
If that’s correct it’s pretty pointless for most of the year in the UK?
Also said the mpg was very disappointing!
Flip of that is, I know someone with a i3 BMW and loves it, only issue so far has been with a charging point that wasn’t working properly.
