Thanks ernie. I test road the 19 and 21 again yesterday and the 21 felt better for me, would never normally go that size but the 19 felt too short. Let’s hope it’s the right choice!! :0)

With you Wrecker, the guy is a complete idiot and the Police have to deal with law breaking idiots like this every day!! Type of crime is irrelevant, if you break the law you break the law….. It’s different if the officer had the choice of arresting a bank robber leaving a bank or a man running a red light and he arrested the cyclist but in this instance the d**k on the bike ran a red light and the office was there……. This guy thought as he obviously studies law he could basically talk his way out of doing something he knew was wrong, intelligence or intellect doesn’t make you above the law…..

Same here. Ordered some lights, one in stock, one they said would be with me the following week. A month later they said they couldn’t get it in stock.. If you find something cheaper with them just call them first to make sure they have it in stock then you should be ok….

I’ve just gone 29er and after my first three rides I have to say I’m hooked and wouldn’t go back. Saying that it’s personal needs, it suits me as I’m a relaxed rider and hitting 40 I want a comfortable bike that I can ride XC and when the mood takes me whip around some technical singletrack…….. Your needs may be totally different, best advice, get some demo time in on a 29er and ride a route you always ride with a 26er and then do the math :o)

To be honest the back door I have opens sideways so even with a tilt feature I doubt I’ll get the boot door open. I’ll just have to take the bikes off the rack before I open the boot (hardly a hardship). I think the Towbar mounted rear rack is the one for me, thanks guys

Thanks z1ppy, I’m leaning towards the tow bar mounted rack as it seems to be the safest securest option. It’s more expensive but nowhere near as expensive as it would cost me to replace my bike frame and forks!!

We should try to get James Pascoe the Project Manager along. Also Shred Magazine have just sent a message out about this on their Face Book page and I’ve asked my mate to speak to the Yogi’s (he rides with them)

Hi guys. One of the things we need to do is make sure we submit enough support letters to Plymouth City Council to swamp the letters of opposition as on D day the volume of letters either supporting or opposing the scheme will be a factor in the councils decision. There’s a 13th September deadline to submit your letter of support and we need riders, schools, businesses, basically as many letters of support as possible. I will send an email out to every cycle shop I can find an email address for tonight to rally support. We also need to get the Yogi’s on side. The ride on Wednesday is a great idea providing you have the numbers otherwise it could have the opposite effect (can we get all the Yogi’s to come along?). The opposition have now had a week of press time so their campaign will be building up momentum, we need to get in there now. I’ll be there Wednesday if you can arrange it, I don’t ride as much as I used to but I’ve been cycling Ply Valley since i was young and we need community projects like this so badly. Does anyone know who the Project Manager is for the scheme?

Quick build question, do any of you guys know what the max brake disc rotor size the Sanderson Life will take? It doesn’t look like it will take 200mm, I’m thinking 180mm.

bol, unlucky there, bloody thieves!! I find myself drawn to it, will run with 120mm forks and a 70mm stem. Have to say there’s also that part of me that likes the rare factor too!!

I’m thinking it sounds like a medium is the right way to go, thanks all, really helpful comments.

I’m in Plymouth, really like the idea of the Soul but want to give myself the best chance of getting a good fit. I normally ride with a 70mm stem, I like the snappy handling and I don’t like being cramped so thought the large was the way to go but am having doubts!!

Hi Stooo.. Thanks for the links mate, lots of good pointers for the SC Superlight. I’m 5ft 11 so I’m thinking a large. It’s the SC SLight or an On One 456Ti hardtail, I’m thinking the Superlight will help my dodgy back more!!

b r… I mean the one On One are selling now, I think that may be the copy :o)

Good pointers here. I ride a short stem with high rise bars, it’s the short sharp jolts that cause me problems more than general trail buzz. I’m without a frame at the moment so I’m shelling out for something, just need to shell out for the right thing!! Thanks guys, lots of good comments.

b r & wippersnapper – your thoughts on the 2nd Gen 456Ti? Is it stiff out back or does it give? (I had the 1st Gen and it felt super springy).

As always excellent guidance people, I think I have a game plan that may well mix some Physio with the right frame, set up and posture, basically I’ll try it all….

Be interesting to hear how you get on with the pushed RP23. I was sceptical about the brain but so far it does the job although the occasional knock it gives is a bit disconcerting!! Can't help but wonder the difference it would make swapping out the brain and float for an RP23….but not until the brain gives it up..

I run the rear end as stiff as possible as I like it that way as my riding is probably 60% XC and the rest technical loveliness :o) I probably have the brain set three clicks back from the stiffest setting and set sag at about 20% buy I can't say I've ever backed the brain off to set the sag. I swapped the post and stem out for Thomson and went to a 70mm stem which works well for quick changes in direction. Good work on getting the Carbon Pro chap, very stealth. I'm thinking of swapping out the stock rims for Rovals, then again I'm just spending about 400 notes for a reduction of 400 grams, then again I am a fettling tart!!
