    Cheers everyone,

Miketually – The tyres are a black rubbery sort of compound, the bars on the felt are about shoulder width and the superflys are about elbow width, does that help?

I’m not just relying on a weekend in Afan to get me ready for it!

Just using it as a good four days of eight hour rides in a row, which I would not get to do at home. Was thinking that it’ll be good to get more time in on the bike I will be using in the race and that the descents are all good skill building on a HT. I’ll take the HT and flog the Felt!

The new Police Facial recognition software will spit out a name within seconds with that sort of quality photo, shouldn’t take long to get the thieving scum.

I had massive problems with this on my stans rims, until I found out about ‘Ghetto tubeless’ which is simply awesome. Its all shown on the link below but basically cut gaffer tape to your rim width, run it round a few times and stick a valve in, then do another run of tape totally sealing the valve against the tape, then pierce a hole for the air to get in. Works a treat and far far more effective (and cheaper) than stans. I have used this system on three wheelsets now and it hasn’t failed me yet.

I went from a 2011 Scott Scale 20 to Gary Fisher superfly elite 29er and the difference is amazing. I originally got the 29er as a muck about bike so the Scott could be saved for racing, after riding the Elite I listed the Scott on Ebay!

Supposedly the Gary Fisher / Trek 29ers are the most sorted Geometry wise and that shows. It both handles and rolls far better than the Scott.

Cheers, I have been searching non stop for the last few weeks and have to say it has not helped one bit, just as I make my mind up I see another review that slates the ones I’d decided on – Then back to square 1!

When I say full UST I mean factory sealed (non drilled)rims like the ones on the Cobalts / SLR’s and Easton.

In looking at the forums I can’t help but think your much more likley to moan about something than say how great it is, so there would always be more bad reviews than good!
