I just noticed the raw disc specific frame is £99 .
So I have a rough plan of building my son a Hardrail for going to pump track and general Street riding and for blasting around local trails.
Can anyone confirm the BB /headset hub size please ?
Will 27.5 RS 100mm fork with 27.5 front wheel and 26 inch rear work okay ?
Or will it be too “twitchy”
    Thanks

Hi sorry late to the party here . more of a forum lurker than a contributer these days . I purchased a Ibis ripmo AF based on pink bike value for money comments . its a size large so if anyone is around the scottish borders your welcome to take it for a blast . im based in jedburgh but once restrictions lift i will be up tweed valley often . Im not a expert at bike revies but its the best value bike i have ever had . it versatile ,feels bomb proof and super grippy with stock settings from dvo . im very impressed

    very informative review thank you
2018 at 2800 in sale looked a lot of kit for the money .
unfortunate that my size was out of stock ,however i was to get the 2019 model at a very nice price. in my opinion 2019 model improved spec points are ,better tyres, carbon bars ans cranks
such a good bike ans spec at a nice price so my mate ended up dropping 2995 on a 2019 too

Forgot to say I witnessed Crawford Carrick Anderson ask the Marshall if there was any rule against starting further back than the start line ! Sounds daft but the start line had a wee drop off 2 metres from start line. Crawfy had figured out he could launch it ! The look on the Marshalls face when he cleaned it was super

Hi all .back in the day mark Brandon RIP and Jamie Lawson we’re building DH trails that were way before there time.only for someone to come dumb them down.
There used to be national xc and DH events on same weekend. Marks brother Paul told me the death Nell for craik was when the first wind farm was denied planning permission. They had offered to blast a direct route of the A7 to craik. That would have made craik more accessible and worthy of investment. It’s a bastard of a road to get too and FC don’t want bike trails there. Kudos to the Hawick boys for sounding FC out .the just wanted to run the place down.im sure there’s some.local activity on trail building but I fear too much interest will have a negative effect .

Good luck to all you enduroists
Me and my son are going to watch at walk or burn and hopefully that bastard rooty corner near end of pro spaker !
I’ve been on leave this week and ridden all the stages and some yair stuff .it was on the whole fun !
    So here my tuppence worth
All were pretty much bone dry except prospaker
The squeakybum time steepometer got me on the short section in middle of prospaker after I entered corner badly . Had to dab and walk/abseil down the next two switchbacks. Yes it is that steep it hardly walkable.
Jawbone and walk or burn was imho a lot easier than it was when used at EWS .there’s a rut at most of the bits I used to slide out on .
I was ecstatic that I cleaned jaw bone and walk orburn and have failed many times. So it’s defo easier .
So I find those sections a real challenge mentally and skill level wise so huge respect to all you boys and girls who will be racing them .
Everything elSe was great fun and highlight for me was the cresta run in the dry ! Just **** awesome
    Enjoy

hi all ive just purchased a set of these for my hardtail .they were silly cheap at £150 so took a punt. so opened the box and theres a travel spacer included . so there set at 100mm so is it safe to presume if i open and take the spacer out the travel will increase to 120mm .
the spacer supplied is quite large around 40mm in length so is this logical thinking or presumption ?
anyone cast some light on this thanks Tam

hi ive been reading with intrest as i have pike rc dual position on my devinci troy
up tweed valleywhen doing the local off piste enduro trails i run them in low position and charger fully closed which works well . when descending i open both up and run 4 click on the charger .
im pretty happy with them to be honest but after reading this am i correct in saying heavier riders will benefit from fitting tokens\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\/
im 14 14 stone so thinking of trying the botomless tokens out . thanks

in my experience best value is to buy a off the shelf bike (last years discounted ) and sell the stuff you dont like or want while its new and unused .then purchase your prefered components and build it .
just my opinion though good luck

    deertrackdoctor

    thanks for that
ive checked out retro bike and it seems they have a forum labeled whats my bike worth . so i will get a opinion and advertise at a fair price as i would really like to get a good price for my cousin but i would also like to see it going to someone with the ability to restore it to its former glory as i believe the cinder cones are few and far between

    deertrackdoctor
    Free Member

    thanks for the advice
1 x cinder cone with the splash paint job and 1 x fire mountain

i would rather sell to someone who will restore them to original spec so retro bike fits the bill. however ebay is easy re auction as no idea what there worth as not sure whats original and whats not. would auctioning it on ebay at 99p start price then putting a link on retro bike be acceptable IM RATHER OUT THE LOOP THESE DAYS ?

alex expect a letter as one plan is ending and the network that was supposedly built for internet is limiting tethering to 4gb max ! cheeky feckers imho

    THANKS for the replys guys
the one plan is ending so no more unlimited tethering on my 18 pound sim only 1 month deal
they offered to transfer to 23 pound with 4 gb which is in the scale of things competitive but as ive been using 30gb streaming with zero issues im a bit gutted .
im on giff gaff as we speak tethering through foxfi app so so far so good
anyone any other info on how to set up mobile setting to “hide ” tethering usage
would really appreciate it as it will mean i can do without house phone and associated costs thanks tam
