I once pedalled home after a few of these without the name proving prophetic.

The singlespeed sounds nice, doubt it’ll turn up in any of my locals though.

Had treatment after a rotator cuff tear sustained in crash. My physio said she saw quite a lot of shoulder related cases from cycling, though mainly mountain biking.

Thanks, you have saved me 800quid 🙂 Very tempting at that price but couldn’t afford new forks to compliment the – utterly lovely looking raw – frame.

Anyone tried a 5spot with 130mm Magura Laurins? Not sure if they’d be okay on or a wee bit too shot A–C?

That form looks like it is designed to put people off responding, but I will persevere and send some feedback.

It’ll mainly be about bicycle service provision, as I’d love to be able to head to the higlands without taking a car more often, but hassle of bike booking puts me off.

I shall also request that drinking isn’t banned on the trains as I quite enjoy a beer or glass of wine as I watch the countryside fly past.

In fact, if we could just have trains like they do in Germany I’d be very happy indeed. Decent affordable services, good bike storage provision and cold beer… surely it can’t be that difficult.

Single Cask Jamaican rum, 81.3% 😯

At some point I will regret buying that.

There are vintage moustaches and bicycles in there if that persuades you to have a look, that and me looking like a goon in the local paper.

40 quid, which I parted with all too easily after they buttered me up with a free tasting session of their new bottlings 😀

(I’d enthuse about the 27 year old Clynelish single malt I tried, but since this is a rum thread I’ll keep quiet)

Just tried this stuff and couldn’t resist buying a bottle. Single cask Jamaican rum… 81.3% 😯 Astonishing depth, dangerously tasty.

I like Ae, although I’ve never ridden the full red XC route.

Really enjoyed the Shredder, downhill tracks and the Omega Man even if one of the DH tracks did break me a wee bit.

Not sure if this helps you with sizing at all, but I’m 6ft, the frame is 18″ with 130mm Magura Laurins and a IIRC 60mm stem. I like it a lot, think it’s just about perfect.

I use run a 350mm seatpost close to its minimum insertion mark, so you might need a 400mm if you did go for the 18″

    Love the Aphex Twin.

On a slight tangent I can also recommend the Acoustica:Alarm Will Sound performs Aphex Twin album. Richard D James stuff transribed for an orchestra sounds even more incredible.

How about the new superstar kraken stuff?

Looks like it might be style over substance, but I certainly like its style.

Have stayed in Citizen M[/url] a couple of times, in Amsterdam and Glasgow. It’s not for everyone, but I love the concept, fantastic showers and huge, ridiculously comfy beds.

The Amsterdam one is a short tram ride from the centre of the city so maybe not as central as you’d like, but perhaps worth a look.

All you’d need for this is a razor, an eyeliner pencil and some black/white facepaint. I’d be tempted to shave my head to go for this one, it looks great.

Love my freeriders although they take on water like a sponge and an age to dry out. They’ve lasted pretty well so far and I’d probably buy another pair when I wear them out.

Also have a pair of basics… for some inexplicable reason they had a cardboard subsole which gave up after a few wet rides. Ripped them out and replaced with another insole. Still wear them mucking around on bikes occasionally, but wouldn’t recommend them as a regular use MTB shoe.

agreed, it’s all pretty rubbish. If you head to bothy bikes the staff are very unfriendly and will not point you in the direction of any superb riding whatsoever. The beer from the cairngorm brewery is terrible and the food in the Ord Ban at Inverdruie is entirely unremarkable 😉

    Thanks folks,

Emailled cotic and it looks like the p45s are the biggest that will fit without cutting and bodging.

I’ll report back on whether I get them to fit, if not assume that there isn’t enough clearance and that I have been killed horribly as a result of not following the instructions.

Hmmm, I don’t reckon so, but I had had no idea how they actually decaffed the stuff until I read this (over a nice cup of proper coffee) just now.

I have no recommendations as such, but I think I’d be looking for some beans like these that haven’t been near any solvents, but at least the widespread use of benzene 😯 in the process has ended.

hmmm, always been tempted by one of these and strangely the darkness makes it even more inviting for some reason.

Is it relaxed enough that you could one turn up with a hardtail, a few hundred lumens and shamble down as fast as you are brave enough to?

    How about Schrödinger?

I helped name a litter of farm cats a few years ago, ironically Schrödinger is the only one still alive.
