Get her insurance details and make a claim. I got knocked off by a van while riding in london, fortunately a witness got his plate cos he drove off. Reported it to the police and they got his details for me, claimed for new bike and costs of using public transport while waiting for bike to be replaced, got the lot.

I had a similar dilemma with my lad but went with the CNOC 16 and pleased we did, your chap will grow into it in a jiffy and it is such a fantasic little bike he'll get loads of use out of it. F&R brakes are worth it.

Just had a gander at the weather forecast, quite glad I couldn't make it after all….

Yeah its just another different way to enjoy biking in the winter, I find I ride slower and enjoy being out and about in woods in the dark (!). Can't afford amazing lights so its always a bit shady which adds to the fun.

How about a secret agent called Quantities, Copius Quantites. He can masquerade as a Quantity Surveyor in his spare time… or maybe not.

jfeb – we need to try these out at Aston Hill – we'll be winding the forks out for that! Also looking forward to a trip to Chicksands to try this out on the 4x track and see how it goes in its natural element!

I presume the granny ring thing is a chainline vs pivot point issue… I didn't notice it much on the one ride I have done but am thinking of putting a dual ring with chain device and bash type set up on. Especially if it drops the chain alot on rough stuff.

Set of brand new 2010 454 coil pikes. I hope they are half as good as I'm expecting. Big changes for me, no more single pivots, now no more marzocchi forks either…. I'm changing the habits of the last 6 years!

Building is defo most satisfying, but it takes a while to know exactly what you want and you have to have a clear idea before you start. Also if you can most of the bits second hand but still in good nick its even more satisfying!

Wow.. I'm 6'1" and I wouldn't want to swap my large for a medium, it would be way too small for me. Running a 65mm stem which feels perfect.

I'm trying some Tioga White Dragon 2.1's at the moment, v light good grip, not sure about performance in proper mud mind… but I'm impressed so far.
