Apple TV has a limit of 3 devices but one is reserved for the remote, so essentially 2 bluetooth device limit. 1 for the wattbike and 1 for the heart rate monitor, youll be fine doing as you do now with the Ipad.

I run this exact set up and have had no issues.

You may need to look into using the beta software on the wattbike (easily found on google) so you can connect 2 devices on that but the apple TV wont be the problem.

    Enjoy.

They can get pretty bad,  im one of those that react very badly to insect bites and its got worse over the last few years.

Draw a line round the redness to see if its getting worse or retracting.

From the sounds of it its infected and you need to get it seen to,  last few bites ive had have gone this way with the added feeling of having the flu/achey/feverish etc, been prescribed antibiotics on a few occasions over the last couple of years.

Few years ago i had 3 bites from a bike ride, didnt think much of it until afew days later when i felt like id been hit by a train. Spoke to doctors and they sent me for a nice little stay in hospital for IV antibiotics. Had to have the puss drained from the boil that appeared at the bite site too.
So yeah they can get pretty bad.

Similar to above,  only way to really get rid of it is to take seats out and properly clean underneath, unfortunately its likely got everywhere.

Speak to a local car detailer/Valet if you dont want to do it yourself im sure they will be helpful.

DIY approach, other than baking soda you can get an Enzyme Eater a company called valet pro do one https://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/valet-pro-enzyme-odour-eater-500ml?language=en-gb&currency=GBP&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI0_3Ho5SngAMVi9ntCh2DwAKQEAQYAyABEgLoB_D_BwE

I used this stuff after my teenage son vomited in the footwell of my old car, saturated the area with interior cleaner, wet vac’d that all out, put this stuff down.

Rinse and repeat the above until the smell goes, took me a good 3/4 times repeating the above before the smell went. And that was with rubber mats.

This may be me being captain obvious but you are flipping the lever on the right side of the caliper to move the brake block away from the rim to give more clearance aren’t you?

Like others on here, plenty while out on the bike, always carry a couple of inner tubes if i am taking a pack even though i run tubeless these have helped many a people out through the years, loan of tools, gifting of quick links etc.

Little while ago a kid was obviously told to buy his lunch on the way to school in the shop where i was grabbing some milk, he wasnt given enough money and i overheard him talking to the lady in the shop asking what he can get for the couple of quid he had on him. He must’ve only been about 8 or 9, i just told him to grab what he needed and ill sort it. Was only a few quid and ensures he gets fed at lunch, least i could do.

The wife is a paramedic and she has a fair few people who buy her a drink or pay for her lunch etc. Last time, someone left a tenner under the wiper of the ambulance with a note saying “treat yourself”.

I asked for recommendations from friends/family, rung a few and had a chat over the phone,  got an idea of how much they charged, id say we eliminated 3 or 4 just from their price and what they could offer.

Whittled the list we had down to 2 and got them both round for a more in depth chat and discussion about what we wanted, was it feasible? We’ve got a budget of x is it realistic? etc etc.

Guy we went with was really friendly, offered a really flexible package and didnt mind me asking loads of stupid questions so i fully understood what was going on and what was needed.

Depending on if you just want drawings/plans done or more of a project manager service will instantly cut down the list by a few.

Fidlock, never lost a bottle on the trail, run it upside down on an enduro rig, survived all day at BPW on some rough stuff and medium sized drop offs.

Not overly cheap, but does the job very well.

Got one with an XT crank a while ago, seems to be a bit of a lottery.

If you’re anywhere near Bournemouth you can borrow mine if you like.

My Dad had this and id love to be able to give you some positives however unfortunately it isnt a pleasant thing to sit by and watch.

My dad used to smoke for a good few years and only gave up when he hit 50ish, he also worked on building sites and did a lot of DIY without masks for the most part, so lots of dust inhaled over the years.
My old man put it down to a side effect from some tablets he was taking but i think that was more him trying to assign blame onto something rather than just being the unlucky one.

In the early years it wasnt too bad, a bit of breathlessness and resting if we went for a walk, the odd coughing fit but nothing too major. I will say he also went to the gym routinely which seemed to help.

He was 53 when he was diagnosed and he lasted 13 years after the doctors told us the average expectancy was 8 years, this was nearly 20 years ago now and i know theres more than likely better treatment available now than there was back then.

The last 2 or 3 years were really tough, he went from a very capable individual to someone who couldn’t make a cup of tea without struggling for breath to the point he needed oxygen to just hold a conversation.
Eventually my sister and her family moved in with him and essentially became his carer until one night he was so ill he got taken to hospital and then moved to a hospice and that was the last week we had with him.

Sorry i cant provide a better outcome or a bit of hope that you were most likely asking for, it also doesnt help as today would have been his 70th Birthday so im in a bit of a doom and gloom mood, however i just wanted to paint a realistic picture.

I will also add we had some good times in those 13 years from diagnosis, we knew he wouldnt last until his 70’s or even 80’s so we made sure to enjoy the good times and endure the bad as best as we could.

Feel free to PM me if you want to know anything specific.

Yeah i have one and i think its a brilliant bit of kit, my knees do go slightly sideways otherwise id hit the seat, but after ive adapted my pedalling position ive never hit my knees.

My son has used it for the last 2 years (4 now) and absolutely loves it. I have the kit that came with the handlebars which makes them sit slightly more upright but we dont always use the bars dpending on how far we are going.

    Thoroughly recommended.

Like above, i used to enjoy him flinging himself off of stuff and thinking for a guy that crashes a lot he has some balls.
However when he defended riding the closed GBU trail at FOD and outright said that he didnt care, thats when i switched off and marked him down as a moron.

His latest stuff seems to point to some sort of mental issue and i really hope he gets some help to sort himself out.

Valentines isnt really done in our house, however i did write the wife a lovely poem to remind her of why she fell for me:

    Roses are red
    I’m not good at rhyming
    Now sit on my face
    Or is it bad timing?

    Job jobbed for another year

Have to agree with everyone and i dont feel the difference myself.

I have Nukeproof Horizons on both bikes its just ones metal  the other composite and i honestly cant tell the difference when riding. Each as good as the other.

Never had any issues with either of them and when the metal ones die theyll be replaced with cheaper composite ones.

my lads just asked me if ive heard of chase bank as he thinks they do some sort of 2.5% refund type thing. he plans to leave at least a grand in there and his mates told him that he just leaves a grand in there himself and gets £25 per month from it.

    This is wholeheartedly 100% incorrect.

So i actually work for a part of Chase bank but not for the retail side, Chase dont offer a 2.5% refund of any sort and your lads mate is talking horse manure.

Is what is actually offered is a normal current account that offers 1% cashback for 12 months on all spending, an instant access savings account which is currently offering 2.7%, and a round up service that offers 5% interest on your round up basis.
Round up is when you spend £1.60 in a shop it rounds the amount to the nearest whole pound and puts it into a different account, in this instance it would be 40p moved over.

As above MSE website has a comparison to filter to your needs.

Something that may help your decision is that Argos have trade in deals on the Google phones, an extra £100 on top of a trade in price until the end of Jan.

I am in a similar situation but am on Sim only, i have an S10 – £85 trade in plus the extra £100 essentially makes the 6a about £250 and the 7 around the £400 mark, potentially an interest free credit card and pay monthly??

Yep, had this exactly for the last 3 or 4 months, stopped exercising as i dont have the energy which is affecting my mental health, not been on the bike for ages as just constantly struggling to feel well.

Not been to docs yet but if it continues then i might get a phone appointment just for a check up.

im proper fed up with it now.

I do a mixture of leftovers and chicken, microwave rice and some sort of greens.

Today was peri peri chicken thighs, golden veg rice and green beans.

Can be a bit boring but you can always change up the spices and flavours.

@weeksy I don’t know you, nor have I ever commented on this thread, however I just felt the need to say I enjoy reading the progression of you and your boy and good luck to him for his future endeavors.

He’s a lucky lad to have you provide what you do, but equally I see a Dad invested in spending time with his boy and enjoying that time in a hobby you both enjoy.
If that leads to more in the form of racing then good on you, ou’ve provided an amazing platform for him.

Life’s to short and at the very least you have given your son amazing memories of time spent with you that he will cherish for the rest of his life.

There seem to be sales on the road stuff constantly, quality has definitely taken a hit and there never seems to be any stock (especially of MTB gear) and now Overland is a separate thing,

They split the MTB to overland and kept the road as Morvelo (i think), which is why you dont see any mtb on the morvelo site.
I dont bother with them anymore as ive heard issues like the above around quality and sales issues.
Shame because I have a couple of older MTB tops and they are great.

Did you buy those special sniper tyres which blend into the scenery and send you on your arse at a moments notice.

Reminds me of a few years ago, part of my local loop is by a river, tyre got so gummed up with claggy clay mud that the wheel physically wouldnt turn, had to drag my bike along to the dryest bit and find a stick to scrape it all off so i could carry on.

This post reminds me of my old man pruning the apple tree in our old house.

Was fairly tall, hanging over a fence which backed onto a footpath, he got the saw and loppers out and set about pruning it, he literally attacked the thing with all his might.
He took so much off of it we were convinced it was dead, it went from about 12ft high to just under 6ft, no leaves or anything left other than about 4 or 5 branches coming off the trunk.

That day was forever known as the apple tree massacre in our house.

No apples for two years and it was nearly taken out, but the third year the apples came back and the tree was looking a lot better and healthy again, drove past that house the other day and its still there and doing well by the looks of it.

Well the definition of vehicle is “a thing used for transporting people or goods, especially on land, such as a car, lorry, or cart”

So i would say yes a bike is a vehicle. Especially where na insurance company have made no mention of vehicle not covering a bicycle.

Do the T&C’s specifically not cover certain types of activities though, as that’s where they might get you.

*assumption made by me that you were mountain biking in the alps.

Yes i can, however i normally bottle it.

Ive done a training day twice now, one public and one private 1-2-1 session, so I know I can do it, but i ride a lot on my own and dont hit big stuff very often so normally bottle it as my self preservation brain kicks in.

I think the recommendation now is that children sit rearward facing until 4 years of age

Nope, that nearly physically impossible for most 2-4 year olds as they wont fit into a rear facing seat unless they are full on reclining and staring at the roof.

Law states they must be rear facing until 15 months old:

Its the click in seat bases and seats which take up so much room and make this problem even worse, ive done the rounds twice, two marriages, first marriage kids are now teenagers, but when they were little i got 2 belt in car seats into an MG ZR, I now have 2 more from m second marriage, 3 and 1 and due to the isofix base and i-size seats i struggle to get the seats into an A6 avant, my 1 yr olds rear facing seat touches the back of my drivers seat, im 6ft.

Same as above i bought some 5ft LAP batons to replace spotlights in my garage, got two to cover a single garage and they are great.

Wouldnt hesitate to buy exactly the same again and i can add more if i need to as they can be daisy chained.

I wrestled with the same issue a few years back,

I painted it with garage floor paint, which required me to clean it, hoover, mop and bucket then another hoover.
I literally poured the paint out of the tin and then rollered it on, doing sections at a time so i could move stuff in the garage to one side then wait for that to dry and then move it back.

The main reason for painting it was to cut down on the dust. After a few months I decided to buy the cheap floor tiles from B & Q, they are spill resistant to most chemical and easy to cut, but they don’t fit very well, and if it gets hot, or I have the garage door open in summer then they lift off the floor.

If I were going to do it again, id get the expensive floor tiles, having something comfy to kneel on when you drop stuff is nice.

As above, reduced tyre pressures for me, Im a heavy rider at 95ish kilos, was running 25 front and rear without inserts, with rimpact fitted (pro rear, normal front) i run around 20.

Feels great, great grip and takes out some of the trail “chatter”

Yes it can be fun, but its a completely different beast to mountain biking, MTB scares the crap out of me sometimes in a way that no road ride ever could and is by far my preferred 2 wheel sport.

But road riding can be good fun too, mostly more chilled out and a chance to escape the kids and home for a while its also more social for me, but i think thats because i have more friends who solely ride road bikes and dont stray into MTB.

Its interesting going out with a group of roadies as they all seem to pap themselves on steep descents whereas those of us in the group that ride MTB as a main sport fly down the hills.

Does seem like an overly big loop considering, but like said above, the fact the cable comes from underneath looks to be the reason.

I would also zip tie it to keep it out the way.

Yup it a boost offset and is a shimano direct mount specific for 12sp hg+

Id be checking the chain wear to see if it needs replacing, did you check its still the correct length?

    dcwhite1984
    Free Member

Im currently using an oval on mine, had a few shifting issues when first installed, i just couldn’t get it dialed in, measured my chain and it was nearly at the point of needing replacing so i just swapped the chain out and everything has been fine since.

Never had any issues with the chain jumping off the chainring though.

Assume you have the correct boost offset if needed etc, and you have the checked the chain length?

The 12 speeds seem to be very finnicky over chain length and wear and getting it spot on for ultimate shifting.

Not had an issue with mine to be honest, had two sets and both were fine, little dab of the lightest loctite i could get and all was good.

Having said that, if i were replacing the part id go for the cane creek one as it’ll just be job jobbed.

Rimpact was the one I had my eye on a little while ago but these seem to have jumped up quite a bit, I’m sure they used to be £35 a pair. £53 a pair now.

Dont know when you last looked but i paid about £50 for a pair of rimpacts a while ago, maybe january ish time, so they havent increased at all.

Dont forget that along with everything else their costs will be rising to make the products so id expect a bit of an increase.

If you think they are simply just a foam hoop then why not do a DIY version out of a swimming pool noodle or plumbing insulation foam, loads of videos online about how to do it.

In no particular order, wife, friends, family and if I feel I need more than counselling sessions are really helpful.

I am extremely lucky in the fact that I have a fantastic best mate who we can talk to each other about anything with no judgement and we can vent with no pressure or worry about what we are saying.

I’m aware that not everyone has that, and yes friends always have their own crap but if they are mates they will always listen.

I’m not sure where the quote came from but
“They would rather listen to your story than cry at your funeral.”

I have found being honest and open has really helped, and a simple text to someone of “mate I’m struggling with a few things recently, can we grab a pint/walk/cuppa/ride and have a chat” goes a really long way.

Also whoever mentioned Andys man club above then the mission they are on is absolutely brilliant with sessions online or in person.

Im currently using Reebok Nano X1’s, same as you size 9 and slightly wide at the front.

I find them comfy and supportive for everything that you have described and pretty much anything you can do in the gym, also slightly less expensive than the nikes.

Replaced an older pair of reebok nanos that were about 6 years old when they finally wore out.

I have the S10 bought it new and still find it good enough for what i need it for, i dont use my phone a massive amount but the battery does die quickly after these years, not so much i think it needs replacing but occasionally ill get in from work and need to plug it in.

    Overall a really good phone.

I have a stanton switch9er fs with the carbon rear end and its a fantastic bike, just be prepared to wait for it unless they have sorted their production times out.

If I were buying one now, I would most likely be looking at the Coal 84 as that thing looks stunning, but with unlimited funds the curtis would also be on my list.

I dont think you’d go wrong with any of the bikes mentioned within this thread, try and get a test ride on some and see what you like.
Owners pages on FB for most brands will give you a bit more detail around some of the brands etc.

I found the Ralph would squirm quite easily, it had to be run at >30PSI tubeless to stop it squirming on corners (87kgs on a hardtail).

Thats fair, i have had any issues with mine so far, albeit only 2 runs old, im 95kgs but it is on a full squish.
Never used racing ralphs so cant compare, but i did notice i was running into corners a lot quicker than i normally would with the nobby’s.
