I have a bottle of 15w and 5w which I’ll use for the recons.  When you say correct oil mate do you mean rockshox own brand or the correct viscosity I.e. would this work ? https://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/p/car-parts/engine-parts/engine-parts1/engine-oils/?521772972&1&cc5_249

Cheers lads.   Do u think I should use 0-30 in my recon and Reba lowers instead of 15w?

    Hi Dickbarton

yes mate my rides are are sometimes quite long in the night and would like the option to extend the burn time if required.   I have a few cree lights but this looks spot on for my helmet.

Cheers mate.  Was thinking of buying a 295 wheelset but I gave xd cassette and the wheels come with normal so was just wondering if other freehubs fit.  If I get them I’ll go the shimano route but either way it will be another 60 quid 😂.

Why did they change it from the 15w that you use in recons etc?

Did you get nitro mate ?

I used to be right into it but it’s like a bug you keep wanting to get bigger and faster :).  I had a few different ones and the ones I wished I kept were the Hobao Hypers as they were solid.    I bought a Schumacher Havoc and it was rapid 50mph but I always broke it and parts were a pain.

I also went to two stroke and had a Hpi Baja .  I fitted a race engine to it and it would wheelie but I don’t think I got to use it more than 10 mins at a time before I broke something 😂😂.

In the end I got that sick I flogged it for 250 which is only slightly more than i paid for a race exhaust for it lol.   I then regretted selling my fishing gear to by RC stuff.    https://youtu.be/LZChszAaPNw.  I think that is the longest I got to use it honestly as I record the shocks at end of vid.

Had my Aldi one for years and used it loads .

Mine didn’t have the standard fitting for Uk stuff but machine mart sell one for cheap and only 2 min job.

I don’t use it for seating tyres though I just use my home made 2 litre pop bottle compressor .

No helmet no ride for me either.  I come off 1/2 mile from work and split my helmet , I’d probably have been dead.  Not going MTB without my full face now either I come off on an easy piece of trail at medium pace  a month ago and had my 1/2 shell on as I couldn’t fit my bt headphones with my FF 😩. I messed my face up over 100 stitches and lost some of my nose , again if I didn’t have my helmet on and safety glasses I’d probably be brain damaged or dead.   Not to mention 4 weeks lost wages.

I look at people as silly when I see them riding without a helmet anywhere .

Hi Nick I’ve used this for a few year and it’s just like muck off https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F251896125149.   I wouldn’t say it’s a degreaser but it’s good at cleaning muck off ya bikes.

I won’t be doing uplifts but it’s only going on my trail bike as I use my anthem for long distance and Xc.

Ill have a think now I know they not crap.

    Thabks for your help 👍🏻

Another vote for the brand x.  I’ve got a giant contact on my other bike and the brand x is better.   I find the supplied 1x remote ok but doesn’t feel strong.

I know this compromises a few things on your list but I’ve used these for years.  You won’t get better for price I don’t think. I get a few hours on half strength and around 2 on full.  https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F312271494440

    Hi mate.

I know but I would rather have a11-46 than a 10-42 as I can go as fast as I want with the 11 tooth.

Cheers mate.   I would just sell my xd cassette and move to shimano/sunrace as it’s nearly new and have no need for the 10 tooth cog 11 us small enough for me.

    Cheers.

I enjoyed it but agree last episode was a bit of a let down.

Still well worth a watch.   I’ve just started watching castle rock that seems good as well

I have no problems with smart sams.   Roll good with plenty of pressure in and get some grip off road.

If you use android give indoor cycling workout a try ICW.    It is free but you can purchase extra structured workouts for pennies.

Ive had zwift , Bkool and rouvy but I’m like others on here and prefer to get outside if I can.

I was wasting money with subscriptions so ICW suits me.

If it’s for trail riding I can vouch for the Met Parachute being breathable and pretty cool.

Not the cheapest though if you are not peddaling in the helmet you will get cheaper and stronger.

    Hi lads

I’ve been back on the bike once just round the doors .  I had to wear a full face as I’ll be up the creek without a paddle if I hit my nose again before it heals

I have lost part of my nose not sure how much lol as it’s scabbed up.   I was feeling better until I went to see the surgeon on Monday who cut and pulled the scabs off for some reason so healing again .

I did get bit pins and needles in my left foot and hands when riding but it went away after a couple of mile.

I’m glad your whiplash cleared up mate it sounds a lot worse than mine.

I don’t know if I had concusion,  the doctors took xrays and did the torch thing in my eyes woukdvthey have been able to tell ?

I work in he hospital so will see about getting fast tracked to physio when back next week if I still have problems .

    Cheers lads

Hi mate thanks for reply.   It’s not causing me any real problem as it’s only certain times certain ways I put my arms.  I mentioned it to the surgeon who is dealing with me the other day but he is oral and facial and just suggested I go to gp.

I will give it a few weeks and see how it goes as I’m back to work next week and Hopefully the gym so will be more mobile which might help.

    Cheers

I normally change as soon as it gets to .75mm.

I left my CX too long I had to change everything won’t make the same mistake again 😀.    If I had new everything was going to be that worn in the Cx I would have just put old chain back on and used it till it was totally knackered.

I get around 1000 miles out of a chain and normally clean it after every ride.

I’ve had a Tacx flow from Halfords for a couple of year .  It’s been fine and works with swift Bkool etc.

As mentioned it only goes up to 6% gradient but I just put it in a higher gear if I want too use hard.

The best app I have found for virtually free is indoor cycling workout on android.

The hardest I had road before there was hamsterley black routes which aren’t very steep in comparison.

It did give me some confidence  actually completing it and I defo need more skills to partake in anything more technical.

Was goid experience and will enter fit next year uf only for the T-shirt 😆.

Is ard rock much harder than Ard Moors Bigfoot?

Well done for completing it mate.

You could have also been writing this for me 😀.

I done ardmoors the other week and it’s the first time I’ve ever done anything like that.   We started practice on stage one and I was bricking it when we got to the top and l could see how steep it was.

The bloke in front of me went over the bars on the first steep but which meant I had to stop.    This gave me time to bottle that steep but and slide down it 😀.

Anyway I managed the practice day without a crash which made me feel better.

I was still realy nervous for the next day but managed to ride everything with only a couple of minor crashes.

i was glad to just have made it round alive and was in survival mode 😂.

I dont know how Ard Moors measured up to other enduros? But it opened my eyes 😀😀😀😀

I have a Met Parachute and it’s got plenty of ventilation.  I done the ardmoors enduro with it and only had to take it off once on a long push up.

I have wore it in the summer and could probs keep it on all day.

You can pick them up for 100 on sale time shortly.

    Hi mate

if you aren’t running tubeless that’s where I would start.   Roll of gorilla tape, valves and some stans sealant.

Ive had carbon bars and tbh they are only a few grams lighter than a good set of alloy ones.

Rotational weight is where you will notice the saving imo.

If you take your weight plus the bike and add it up then take away a few hundred grams it adds to nothing in the scale of things but take a few hundred off ya wheels and you will feel it plus no punctures.

I am in the same position.   I come off 2 weeks ago and nose planted a rock.     Can get back on the bike yet as still heLing and really hope my mojo hasn’t gone too much as I didn’t have much before I came off.    I come off where u wouldn’t expect it and for no reason .    Only thing I can think of is I put  extra tokens in my pike and didn’t adjust rebound and might have had my weight to far forward.

Broke my nose and soft tissue damage ,  at least it was on camera 😀 watch till the end if you want to see the damage😂 https://youtu.be/Vkuy-sXvZmc

I’ve had northwave Celsius for a few year and never had any bother uncliping with shimano spds.  They are 100% water proof and keep you warm to about -10.    U still put sealskin socks on as you can get water running down ya legs into them.
