I was going to get a K4 but seen the Titan one in screwfix and got that instead. Prob less than half price of the Karcher and just as good. I got the patio brush with mine.
I’ve had Karcher in the past which are good but the Titan is on par.

I would wait a bit as I would imagine you would get less at the min as people can’t collect as not essential.

I am lucky enough to work for the NHS and can still go to work. I work for the estates department and it is pretty much business as usual apart from we put ourselves on shifts to minimise contact.
The atmosphere in the hospital is surreal it honestly feels like a nightmare we can’t awaken from. We can’t get hold of additional PPE which sucks but can get it off the wardS when we are working there.
The confirmed cases have increased 10 fold in a week god bless.
Iam pretty much resigned to the fact I am going to get it and just hoping the cycling over the years has made me strong enough 🤞 even so I’m not buying anything else cycling related till this is over. The wife works for EE so she can also go to work.
I know the NHS staff are getting a lot of recognition and rightly so but other workers shush as in shops buses taxis police firemen etc etc are all doing there bit and hopefully we can all get though this.

@dlr I am sure I have done it that way as well I just always get lost lol. I went up there one night instead of going to chopwell and got lost on the top. Was starting to panic when it was getting dark lol

Loads of old mineral lines to put the miles in. As said above Hammers is good and I love the Edmundbyres killer loop but will be bleak up there at the minute.
https://strava.app.link/RhHLv8ile4 You start next to the punch bowl pub. I’d be happy to take you when the weather gets a bit better.

Are the sram roam hubs the same as hope as the bearing kits specify both ? Also the bearing kits only come with 2 bearings ?
    Cheers

Hi joe mines defo not bleeding edge.
I’m ordering a piston from fleabay or Amazon. I’ve just popped an elixir lever on till it arrives as I can only find them from Chinese sellers. I Boe the elixir with ease.
I think the piston was only slightly sticking and the main problem was the blocked ports in the reservoir.

Can I just ask what the point of the bladder in the reservoir is ?

Hi lads thanks for reply’s. The lever wasn’t on the bike when I had the cleaner in. I was planning a full thorough flush anyway but was unable to do it.
I don’t think you can not have the sram bleed ports not open enough as you take the grub screw out as it’s not bleeding edge.
The system must have been bled without the bleed block as when I installed new pads there was only 1mm gap between and there was no way it was pushing back. I stripped the lever down and leaned the ports out in the reservoir. However I damaged the gasket on the lever plunger when reinstalling it. So ordering a new plunger
There was defo a blockage in the port and the fluid that was in was dirty.
I’ve bled shimano brakes and brakes on my cars loads of times so understand the concept. I have code RS on my other bike and have never had a problem.

I did that mate. I’ve just had the lever off the bike and pushed the piston back with a hex key but still blocked. I have filled reservoir with disc brake cleaner and gunk come out of the ports. I’ve left some in the reservoir and will see if it’s cleared when I get back fro the park with the bairn. I’m used to shimano and never have a problem apart from the of calliper leaking.

Cheers lads . I will be buying stuff and don’t want to spend too much. The hanger extenders are only cheap on wish etc so might try one of them. I will also be buying a cassette so may work simpler to get a cheap deore chainset 😀. I know Tripple chainsets aren’t in fashion but they solved a lot of problems.

Hahaha. Every time I get in my van I doubt wether to get rid or not. The vans ideal for the bikes as it has a crew cab and still has 6 seats. I’ve had it since 2012 and only had to change starter and alternator.
Bad points I probs look like a pikey as I have 5 kids 😀 you get asked to pick stuff up all the time And people think it’s ok to borrow it even people your not that close too 😡. Uses more fuel more road tax and insurance.

Will probs wish I’d kept it when I get rid lol but just fancy a change.

My first cx had canti brakes and that is the reason I sold it. It was a focus mares and was an excellent bike excluding the brakes. I bought a giant revolt to replace it which is s gravel bike but essentially just the same. It has discs. The second ride after I bought it I was flying down a farm track and a car pulled out and luckily I was able to stop. If I was on my bike with canti brakes I’d have been ****. Proper **** 😀. Don’t ever plan on going back to rim brakes.

Cheers lads Il be buying a bike rack but could you fit an MTB in a Passat ? I’m pretty sure you will in a zafira with front wheel off.

I don’t care for them. It’s a right pain to check pressures. I know you only have to blast it with the pump but I still prefer normal valves. I tried putting stand in with silicone tube over the valve and it just kept popping off.

I agree with the front end becoming light on the steep climbs. Is this what defines a bike as a good climber ?
I’m not being sarcastic by the way. I just thought that the fact I can get up gnarlier and steeper stuff that it was a decent climber but you do have to put a bit weight over the front.

That’s a bummer mate. I really liked the raidons and they never flackered. I have pikes on my bike at the min. I was toying with the idea of getting a trance As well which my son would also use. I normally stick with RS just because they are easy to service and parts are plentiful.

I think I’m probably strange lol. I could be blinded but my strava times aren’t much different. I went from a giant Anthem 3 to a Reign 1 and put good wheels on it so it’s actually lighter than the Anthem was.
But I have defo been able to get up short steep climbs that I couldn’t before but that’s probs to aggressive tyres enabling me to stay seated. I’m still going to go with being strange though 👍🏻👍🏻

Hi mate I didn’t do it. I ended up buying a longer travel bike. I kind of regret it tbh the Boardman was mint. I just wish I had got the 18” instead of the 19” for a bit more but room.
I got caught in the longer lower slacker hype lol but the Boardman can do what my Reign does. I would just leave it or upgrade to the 150 debonair spring when you service it.

Hi lads thanks very much for the replies. It would have been the 2017 version I woukd have been buying. However I have just fitted high rise bars to my Reign and can’t believe how much better it feels to me. I haven’t had it that long and it felt too planted and low at the front however it now feels as nimble as the Anthem I had.
I’m going to keep it now but the Jeffsy will be at the top of my list when I buy again but will save for a newer one.
    Thanks again lads 👍🏻👍🏻

Cheers mate. I didn’t used to have any bother but had an accident and ended up changing bikes while I was healing and this feels a lot more effort. I also do feel a bit too far forward when descending. You are right though technique is the key as red bull rampage lot don’t have any bother lol.

I can seat my tyres with the Lidl or Aldi track pumps. Only around a fiver.

I couldn’t seat non TR tyres though had to use a home made pop bottle compressor.

    I have a Parachute and a Switchblade.
Both can be worn all day imho. I have never bothered taking the chinguard off the Switchblade as there’s plenty of ventilation.
Both are light. I have a 58cm head and I’m right on the limit with the Met but there is s but more wiggle room in the Giro. Both are a similar fit to me.

Cheers lads. I ended up ordering an XR3. I have been out on the SF tonight and the XR1 tyres weren’t that bad even in a bit mud so a XR3 should be spot on.

Thanks for the opinions lads 👍🏻👍🏻

I’ve just ordered one click and collect. Before a I pick it up on Friday can anyone tell me how the brightness compares to the magishine copies as I have about 5 of them and won’t be much point in getting it if it isn’t any better.
    Cheers.

Chocolate milkshake straight after a long ride as I’m usually unable to eat due to eating loads of carbs on the ride.
Poached egg with beans on toast if I can eat something.

I’ve just bought this set as I didn’t have a hose for mine https://www.lidl.co.uk/en/MiddleofLidl.htm?articleId=20208.
Will that do for tubeless presta as I’ve always just used a home made 2l coke bottle compresso? seen these and thought may aswell use my proper one.

I am surprised that oval chain rings are in fashion again. I had one on a 1996 diamond back sorrento. I don’t know if it was better but defo faster as I was 23 years younger 😀
