Mark had already told me that if there was a problem, he would send me a new battery by a different courier.

    Perfect thanks.

Er, not good. Was about to order a new battery from Smudge for my Troutie. Can Smudge shed any light on this ?

Courier the way forward rather than Royal Mail?

Good friend of mine (female) uses the “what’s in your boot” question at speed dating events (she’s into that kind of thing). Replies will quickly sort the wheat from the chaff. Set of golf clubs – get lost. Muddy wellies/bike/dog/boots and you’re in there!

Just got mine back from Pedals Edinburgh. £62 in all including all parts, fitting and bleed. Top service as always from them.

Talked to death on virtually every motorbike forum in the world. Endless studies cited that it makes no difference what you wear. Endless studies cited that you WILL die if you wear black. Jury’s out.

Bust mine on Saturday – dropped it off at Pedals this afternoon for repair – will let you know how much £££ it costs! Basically a button seems to cost about £40 plus labour. Full remote over £100 plus labour/bleeding etc. Shocker..

All dogs at DH centres should have to wear one. Would that satisfy the OP?

We had ours rammed with all kinds of kit. They didn’t care as long as we got it under 32kg.

    Are you sure?

100% for the very simple reason that my BikeBoxAlan with a bike and all my riding kit weighed 35kgs on their scales. Was told the handlers will not move anything more than 32kgs – that is the limit for a single item regardless of what it is – and I had there and then to take some gear out and put it in my other bag, which then weighed 21kgs but she let me away with it. Wife had EXACTLY the same issue on the way back in GVA. They may of course have changed the regs but that was certainly the situation in both EDI and GVA 6 weeks ago.

Fair point Orange – agreed. An organised race trundling through could hardly be construed as responsible.

A small scale gentleman’s race on the other hand……

    Typical lycra lout.

YES! Fame at last! Glad that the attitudes of the landowners have been brought to public notice at least. Just shows that despite the support of all and sundry including the Council, Spokes etc, a small number of interested parties can hold it to ransom.

Raises event organisers in my estimation. How they manage to organise events like the Six Day Trials, Etape Caledonia and MTB rides in the face of these attitudes is beyond me. And this is in Scotland where the landowners don’t have a leg to stand on if we did turn up to ride it. How do organisers manage in England!! Obviously this was marketed as a “race” etc which muddies the access waters I guess.

Serious note too – shows how comments made on here can be picked up and spread around – dangerous……..
