    FFS!!!!!!!!!!

would you rather it be 2 doors away so you/they can pop round with it? or at the depot 50 miles away? Where it’s slightly less handy to pick it up yourself? The courier wouldn’t have attempted re delivery tomorrow they’d have waited for you to call & collect or arrange to have it redelivered.

You friendly helpful neighbours should smash it into your ever so slightly ungrateful face.

    Just IMO you understand

I’ve had a touring caravan out in the wilds of Wales for 15+ years, no electric on the site, yet I can comfortably stay there with everything I need.

I bought 2 second hand leisure batteries, £10 each, a solar charging panel, £30 & an 800w inverter.

Hooked the 2 batteries up together with the solar panel charging them, inverter hanging off the batteries which then feeds electric to the caravan, jobsagoodun, I can comfortably run all the lights I need & a couple of hours of TV a night for over 2 weeks doing it this way.

as an added bonus the caravan uses it’s built in trickle charger to charge the batteries when it’s hooked up to the inverter.

So I’d say all you’d need is 1 leisure battery & a solar charger, then hook up a few lights to it & you’re away, or for much cheapness, just take the battery into the house every few weeks to give it a charge, or as I’ve had to do once or twice in the past hook it up to the car via one of those cigarette lighter to battery charging leads & it’ll charge as you’re running about doing your everyday things.

Water butt should be ok this time of year, but it’ll get bad quickly if once the weather warms up, then there’s the worry of kids tipping it over for a laugh, unless it was kept inside the garage & filled up daily as you mentioned.

I quite often break up my bikes when I’m selling them, that way I get to keep the parts I need & sell off the stuff I don’t, parts & cash for the new build, only once have I ever been asked for a serial number & that was after the sale, being a honest seller I’d have no problem supplying numbers, I ask for numbers when buying from people I don’t know, silence or excuses means my money goes elsewhere. The thinking is that:

A, I’d have some sort of evidence of where I’ve bought it from, if there were a problem in the future

B, a dodgy seller wouldn’t be quite as forthcoming with the information (just my opinion)

    (can I blame NERC yet?)

You’re more than welcome to blame NERC

many people don’t really understand the difference between the legitimate TRF-type people and the idiots on mx bikes, just thinking they are all the latter

    & please don’t label me a TRF type 🙄

From what I’ve been told it’s not illegal, that said though, if anyone or anything hurts themselves or damages anything on it, it is the fault of the landowner (they have a duty of care)

I went through a similar thing last year when the local scrotes kept on climbing onto the wall in the front garden, asked the local bobby who said I could put whatever I wanted up, within reason obviously, but if anyone hurt themselves or damaged clothing I’d open myself up to prosecution or being sued.

Dunno if that’s true or if he was just trying to make his life easier

Picture the scene; grandad getting a bit mischeivous and some old redsock prodding his derriere with a walking pole and proclaiming “Oi, you can’t do that here…”

Really not something I ever want to picture TBH 😀

He was with us on our motorbike trail rides into his 80’s, you aint seen nothing till you’ve seen the face of someone who’s just finished lecturing you about how you’re not allowed to this here etc etc & he takes his lid off & says “sorry could you repeat that, I’m a bit mutton”

Haven’t people always wanted to spend there leisure time in the countryside?

According to my great grandad, he & my great nan used to cycle & take picnics into the woods when they were courting, probably for a very different reason than finding the sweet piece of singletrack though 😀

    but all the same……….

Just my own thoughts here as a motorbike rider & mtb’er, but you get idiots in all walks of life, I treat the trails with the respect it deserves no matter what I’m on.

I’ve been out on trails on my motorbike & get tarred with the same brush as the numpties ripping everything up on a stolen or mx bike, I ride a road legal trail bike, not a mx bike.

I’ve also been out on the trails with my 9 yr old daughter on mtb’s & have been frequently confronted by the “you shouldn’t be here” crowd.

The problem is, as has been said before, people only ever remember/hear about the bad un’s, I only ever use the trails when they are in the right condition whatever hobby I’m doing.

Should these ROW’s be open to all? I honestly don’t know, but with the ever decreasing miles of BOAT’s the legitimate & carefull users are being forced into smaller & smaller areas, this concentration of masses of people doesn’t help the area or the locals.

Imo everyone’s entitled to be there & as long as they’re respecting it live & let live, if they’re not respecting it & they’re breaking the law they be treated accordingly.

How long can we keep legislating for idiots & punishing the decent law abiding citizens who’ve done nothing wrong?

I’ve restored several cars & campers in the past, doing everything myself, painting, welding mechanics apart from the interior (wife to the rescue there)& there’s barely any margin in it for profit, so I’d sell as it is. People buying VW campers are usually enthusiasts & don’t mind, some vw perverts even enjoy the whole process & can build/restore to there own tastes.

Does it come on when braking heavily or under normal conditions? Does it come on when you pull away fast?

I repaired a car a while ago where the sensor wire had been catching on something & wore through the outer cable, so it would cause the wire to earth out making the light come on whenever you accelerated or braked hard.

First thing to check is the oil level, as mentioned before
