Try http://www.computerorbit.co.uk They don't list it on their website, but they're always helpful when I've been in, so I would think they could order one for you.

I built mine last year, and I'd recommend it to anyone who knows which end of the hammer to hold. Much sturdier than anything I've seen in B&Q etc. and much cheaper to boot. Ok, it took more time, planning and work to actually make the thing, but it was well worth it in the end.

We named our daughter Rose when she popped out 49 hours ago. Named after her Great Grandma Rosalie.

It's impossible to know, as you would change the outcome by measuring it.

We have an anthropologist in the audience! 😆

Or possibly a theoretical physicist. Although if I'm being honest, neither of the above.

No idea about your MIL, but why would a jar of home made preserve have an expiry date on it?????

If it answers your question at all, it's only a small step from MIL to MILF… 😯

Used it abroad during the recent dust dilema? Most banks are refunding charges for using cards abroad when flights have been cancelled.

ready with a big pair of pliers in case something horrible comes out

That's most likely to be a big ****-off spider that'll bite your arm off. Best not take the risk. Leave the pipe sealed…

If it is still connected to the CH system, have a proper end cap ready when you chop them. If the pump's not running at the time, the system will be effectively sealed, so very little water will be able to escape. Just cut the pipe to where you want it, cap it and plaster over.

They look like old water/central heating pipes to me. They certainly aren't sealed to be gas-tight, so it's very unlikely that there'll be a leak. There's a vague chance that there'll be some residual water in there from an old heating system, so you might get slightly damp.

There's very little chance of getting a shock, as the usual method of transporting electricity around the home is in cables/wires rather than copper pipes, so unless you've had some real cowboy workmen in you'll be fine. 🙂

A couple of friends of mine were stopped while riding home from our Christmas fancy dress pub crawl ride. They were on a tandem, dressed as a gorrilla and captain hook, and completely incapable of riding in a straight line/standing up. The police suggested that they used the quieter back lanes to get home, then sent them on their way. 😀

Had a desire for a couple of weeks now, and I've gotta say I'm very impressed. Plenty of apps for doing pointless things, good internet and email access, easy wifi setup, and does just about everything I can think of it needing to do.

I didn't even consider an iphone, as I didn't want to look like a fashion following ponce. From what I can tell though, they do pretty much the same things, but go about them slightly differently.

I'm just me. By accident of birth I became Northern/English/British/European/whatever, but I'm just the same as someone on the other side of the world. It's about time we learned to stop being so tribal, and work for the good of everyone, not just the people born/living near you, who believe the same fairy stories you do, or who look the same as you.

    1. Who are you? Me. Probably. Although sometimes I'm them as well.

    2. What do you do? As little as I can get away with, although it's genreally too much

    3. Who do you do? Very well thank you. Who do you do?

    4. Faves? Errr… what? Are they like frozen waves?

    5. Worsties? Sorry, nope. I've no idea what you're on about.

    6. Jedward? Que? Do you mean thins place?

Basically I think it comes down to where the wall sits, according to the land registry. If it's entirely on your side of the boundary, it's yours, and vice versa. If it's astride the boundary, it's a bit more complicated, but my understanding is that it's jointly owned.

PS. I'm not a solicitor, nor even anything associated with the legal proffession, but I have been researching it a bit as I have a neighbour who's a complete @rsey funtbucket! 🙂

Kuco, you're not the only one. I just don't get it. It's not that I don't like asparagus, far from it. I just don't see what all the fuss is about. The nice things you can put on it are far nicer than the asparagus itself.

As for it's notorious effects, yes. It very much does.

I've been running a hope BB for nearly two years now, and it's showing no signs of old age, despite being regularly abused with a jet-wash.

I'd get another one, no question, as the bearings seem to last ages, and they're a doddle to replace: no need to remove the cups, just pop the cranks off and pull the cartridge out!

Just keep it until they arrange to collect it. They've sent it after you cancelled, so it's their mistake. You have no obligation to send it back as it's effectively unsolicited mail, (although you do need to give it back if they come for it).

The levers will work fine whatever caliper they're pushing. There may be a small difference in the volume of oil being pushed around, but it makes very little difference to the performance. A friend of mine used to use a DH4 caliper on a Hayes HFX lever, and it still worked well.

I may have a caliper or two lying around, if anyone wants them. Certainly got a couple of caliper halves, and probably a rebuild kit or two. Replacing the lever seals is a pretty easy job, as long as you don't mind the fiddly circlips…

Hamsterley's about 40 miles from Scumderland, and at the moment will be under a thick blanket of snow, (soon to be followed by a couple of feet of claggy mud).
To be honest, I really wouldn't bother for now, as it won't be very pleasant, (although it'll be a million times nicer than being in Sunderland).
To be honest, I wouldn't bother taking a nice bike to Sunderland, as it won't be yours by the next day…

Not sure if it will fit the current adaptor, as the avids use those conical washers to make setting them up so much more awkward. Going back a few years, shimano brakes came with is-post adaptors, so I wouldn't be surprised if they still come with everything you need in the box. They should come with a new disc as well, so you don't need to worry about sizing.

Not sure about the BB length, but it'll be a 73mm shell, and probably around a 110-113mm axle (that's just a guess though). The mech will be a top pull 31.8mm clamp, and will need to be a top-swing jobby. No space for a conventional.

We got a re-call letter for my wife's Clio a couple of years back, telling us that there was a potential fault with the bonnet catch. Unfortunately the letter arrived about a year after the bonnet had flown open at about 70mph, writing the car off in the process. 😕

Did you know that in the good old USofA they often have re-call parties at dealerships because it's a great way to get people through the doors and tempt them to a new car. Quite often the recall is over trifling little problems like pedals getting caught on mats… 🙄

There's pretty much b*gger all decent riding directly around Hartlepool, unless you like ex-railway lines, industrial wasteland/chemical plants, or running from scallies.

The NY Moors are the nearest decent ride, although you've got to go all the way to Middlesbrough to cross the Tees to get there. Plenty to do further west in Co Durham as well, but it's still a bit of a hike to get to anything resembling a hill.

Mine have been fine so far (dual air, QR). Lighter than the Talas they replaced, and much plusher. Stiffer too. Can't really comment on their longevity yet, as they've only been in use since September, but they've not buckled under mt not inconsiderable heft yet! 🙂

Burton Road! That's where I lived, (albeit at the Withington end). I remember looking out of the window one night when I heard a commotion outside, and seeing what I can only describe as a total nutcase running up and down the middle of the road, screaming at the top of his voice, and threatening anyone who walked by with the rather large samuri sword he was frantically flailing about! 😯

I didn't go outside until he'd been carted away with a police dog still attached to his arm…

South Manchester. It's a sh!t hole for the most part. Didsbury pretends to be posh, but that's about it really. The rest is like the wild west without the horse sh!t.

Our club uses a Barclays clubs/societies account. Dual signature cheque book, online access (view only), and nowt else really. You can have pretty much whatever setup you like. No charges, and probably no interest. If you're bothered about interest, set up a seperate savings/holding account to store the bulk of your money, and just keep a working sum in the current account. Transfer as and when needed.

The Burrrt has gone I'm afraid. No more revolving dance floor. No more puking off the deck into the tyne. 🙁

The area around Central Station is pretty lively these days, although one or two places aren't too keen on having stag parties in these days, (Revolution in particular). Centurion (in the station) is a good place to start, (especially as you can fall off the train, straight into the bar).

If you want really good food, without ridiculous prices, try Blackfriars. Some of the best contemporary british cooking you'll find in the area. The Living Room is also worth a try, as is Red Mezze near St James'. Stowell Street is the place to go if you like good chinese food in large quantities.

My wife recently had this choice. She had a headache for about a week, before she worked out that it was toothache. Dentist gave her the choice of root canal work in a months time, or whip the offending tooth out on the spot.

After an hour in the chair the awkward little bugger finally came out. She was in pretty bad pain for about a week before it eventually got better. Made all that much worse by the fact she's pregnant and can't take anything other than paracetamol!.

My advice would be to get it pulled, but get put under first.
