I am not an XC Whippet though, I prefer to take it easy when I can, that way the Black route is not so demanding on you.

skills area is practically non existent, not really worth spending time on…
Kirrie is good if you just want to get out into the country and have a blast… like all trail centers you only get out what you put into your ride out… 🙂

and like the old saying goes “you can’t please all the people all of the time” you will enjoy it that I am sure off…

Hi Jack, I live in Stranraer and ride the Kirrie trails pretty regulary… the Galloway Hillbilies are a growing concern and they do Tuesday night ride outs (though you have to be pretty fit to keep up with those guys)

I am hoping to hit Kirrie this coming Saturday with a mate if all goes well..(have a home DIY job pending at the moment!) if I can manage to get out Saturday we could meet you down at the trailhead car park, we are gonna be running a fair bit of off piste trails.. should be a blast…

I was there yesterday and the trails were just fine, the odd puddle here and there, also parts of the red trail have been pretty well churned up after the SXC races on Sunday.. are you doing the Black route? (22 miles), then enjoy “Talnotry Hill” “Hissing Syd” “The Jabberwocky”, Rivendell is a good blast as is the doon hill loop.. just have fun and enjoy the day, the Cafe is closed, but the Breakpad bike shop do Teas/coffee and crisps..

Dumfries area.. then Ae, Mabie, dalbeattie and Kirroughtree…

I did 4 stanes in 3 days last year and I was fecked for the rest of the week…but then again I am an old git… 8)

yep been clear of snow for nigh on 2 weeks…

cheers folks… I have fitted the mount using the velcro strap and cut it to size once the light was in place….will see how it all goes, if it is unstable then I will use zip ties.. 8)
