I am unsure as as to the year of the forks, 08 or 09 …..must admit this is the first time that this problem has manifested itself…lets hope and pray that a full service on both legs will sort it out. 🙂

have you read this over at another forum…..   https://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=12652233

    Hey!

We’ve just had a great ride at kirroughtree- can you recall the three riders from Yorkshire?

What a great place it is! I’m afraid I can’t comment on your forks- good luck with getting them fixed.

aye, I can recall… my auld memory is not that bad yet…. HAHAHAHA.. how did it go down at “McMoab”?  was raging when I had to peel off back to the car as I was enjoying the biking…..hopefully I’ll get back down on Sunday with the Old Commencal…..

hope you guys enjoy the rest of your stay in D+G

I used CLS timber for the framework, which is cheap as chips…. but beware the 4×2 CLS is actually 3.5 x 1.5 (or 89mmx39mm, £6.58 per 4.8m length) … I had to modify some of the measurements ….

I started off reading the fantastic book by Roger Musson, in it he gives you plans for bulding your own DIY wheel jig…. like the one below.. to be honest it does take a few attempts to get a decent trued/dished useable wheel… also check out some youtube vids on lacing/building/truing a wheel…. it’s not really a Dark Art… just a great deal of time and patience is what’s needed…. and very therapeutic it is to boot 🙂

Link to Roger Musson’s PDF book  https://www.wheelpro.co.uk/wheelbuilding/book.php

there are two ways to get to McMoab…… go straight on at the end of Rivendell section (instead of turning right onto the fireroad, Red trail), follow the Black trail markers but keep off the Black sections, turn left once you have ridden over the River bridge and then just follow the fireroad until you reach McMoab…

Or you can drive up the A75 and turn right onto the A712, a good few miles down this road you will come to Murrays monument car park, you want to take the right turn about 50m past this car park…. drive down the fireroad and you will see McMoab just over the bridge…. have fun lads… and tight lines…. 🙂

I agree, do Kirrie, you can sleep over at the car park there and then have the 40 min or so drive over to Portpatrick…. are you going to be fishing “The Yellow Isle” or further over to sandeel bay…. there is also dashers den or the High seat, you can always mix up the blue/red route to make things a tad longer down at kirrie….the showers at Kirrie will close when the Breakpad bike shop closes at 5pm

took me a week or so to get used to fitting/removal of the lenses… became 2nd nature after a while, because you are not really poking around yer eyball…LOL…

Specsavers do have a FREE trial for lenses, I just pay £20 for a contact lens eye test and then get my prescription filled online for a damn sight cheaper…., and Morrison’s sell saline solution for a few quid per 360ml bottle….
