does it really matter about "this trail is better than that trail".. the main point is that you are out on the trail(s) having fun… and the having fun part is only what you make it…. 😉
I have been to Kirroughtree-Mabie-Ae-Dalbeatie and I had fun at all of them. They all have their own differing good/bad qualities

have just spoken to Young Dave, he had an appointment today with the Doctor, he has now got his arm out of the sling and has been told to take off the wrist brace for a few hours a day to get the tendons/ligaments and muscles mobile. he is still sore from the crash, but is hoping to get out on his road bike in about 8 weeks

Just to let everyone know that young Davy (the kid with the red merlin hard tail) that was on the 26th Sept ride out had a very nasty accident on his bike down at Mabie Forest 4X section, he came a right cropper on the very first set of jumps. I spent 3 hours with him at Dumfries A+E Dept, he has broken his right clavicle, a bone in his left wrist, chipped or cracked 4 teeth, and has multiple cuts and abrasions on his right hand side torso and arm, also he had a pretty hard bang to his head as his helmet was damaged in several places.
We met up with Craig1975 down there, had a blast until the end…Davy is still keeping his spirits up and is pissed off at not being able to get out on his bike for a few months…
Just thought I would let you know..

Wow Davy-g, that's uncanny. I gave up Feb 07 and got the bike Sept 07 – Did you also put on 2 stones in the interim?

yep sure did, but that was down to the weightlifting 4 times a week.. weight shot up to 185lbs (13st 3lbs), have now got it back down to 172lbs.. feeling better for it tho…having said that, the black route @ Kirroughtree near killed me on Saturday…i still have a few pounds of fat to burn up…LOL

I am 52 and I broke a few ribs after i had a short excursion over the handlebars down @ Ae forest in May of this year, all my wife said to me was "you will have to learn to fall properly!", no mention of age… mind you, the older you get the easier bones are to break and longer they are to heal…. 😯
