I have used 2 halves of a spring clip just need to add some form of padding to them to dampen the vibrations..

DUH…. I meant a spring clip clothes peg.. sorry about the typo error…

I have also ditched the helmet mount that I used as all the footage was unusable due to smearing caused by to much cam movement,,,

here are the pics of the stem face mount…please bear in mind that this is still work in progress, I have used 2 halves of a spring clip just need to add some form of padding to them to dampen the vibrations..

the extra zip tie around the cam and the wedge holds everything in place a bit better….and is an added precaution to stop the cam from falling off

yup, It's the fear that stops us from trying for airtime, took me a week to pluck up the courage to attempt this jump http://www.vimeo.com/9372036 once I had done it I was so stoked on adrenaline that I did it 3 more times after that.. now it is just something I do when I am up in the woods practicing on my bike…

dave have u got a pic how you wedge it up?

Nick, will get some pics posted up tomorrow (but I normally look around the trails for a suitable twig… 🙄 ) I am in the process of trying to knock up a suitable wooden wedge with foam rubber attached to it to absorb more vibrations. I am happy enough with the video at the momment as I have managed to cut down a great deal of the smearing caused by camera shake associated with slack mountings.

The silicone sleeve is OK but it won't stop the ingress of dirt or water into the USB socket of the cam, I would say that that is one of the most critical areas one would need to protect…

Be a good idea to fit a Neoguard to protect the camera from ingression of dirt/water etc,etc coming off the tyres, also wrap some cling film around the bottom half of the cam as added protection to the USB plug socket and the card slot before you click it into it's mount….
I personally have mounted the cam to the front of the handlebar stem, i wedge a small twig in between the mounting bracket and the stemface just to tighten things up a tad and then use a zip tie as an extra fitting precaution….

some video http://www.vimeo.com/9362166 Vimeo conversion has compromised the quality a tad…

davy-g – footage looks good, is that the raw footage or what did you use to compress it, first time I've put up something on vimeo and I used windows movie maker which only seems to save as wmv, how did you save yours as mpeg4?

sorry Bud, it's not my footage, Ben from over @ the Commencal Owners forum did the recording, it was this footage that sold the cam on me.

here is a link to some footage recorded by the more expensive Muvi… the cam was mounted to the seatpost..

although it states on the Ebay page that the resoloution is 30fps 720 x 480 it also states in the specs (below the picture of the cam and accessories) that the res is 640 x 480 (look at "Video Function and Format"

would suggest you pay a visit to the 7stanes website http://www.7stanes.gov.uk/
as there will be harvesting operations going on, you will find more info on the site, just click on each of the 7stanes links and look for diversions (here is Dalbeatie to start you off http://www.7stanes.gov.uk/forestry/achs-5rnffw)

I have ridden Kirrie,Mabie,Ae and Dalbeatie, my least fav one is Mabie (way to many hills for these old legs), Kirrie is getting smoother and smoother with all the trail repairs that is going on, the "White Witch" @ Kirrie has been smoothed out so much that i have dubbed it the "Sorcerer's Apprentice"
