The XC trail is a leg buster for me… about a 5 3/4 mile climb from the car park to the top of minch moor…coming down the other side of the hill is bloody brilliant and will put a large grin on your face…Plora Crags is another good fast flowy/techie section, Then there is Caddon bank the Extreme Black section that has madatory air rocky sections and drop offs (with chicken runs) it eventually spits you out back at the car park, I cant say anything about the full on DH runs as I have not done them yet… 😯
if there is excessive movement with the camera then the recorded footage is unusable.. I use 2 of the branded Veho cams, as stated above the frame rate is pretty low for them, about 19fps. I have found that the cams give better results when used statically to record video.
here is a link to my last outing with the cams down at Kirroughtree 7stanes… http://www.vimeo.com/11619189
I used Sony Vegas Video to edit the footage..

Mark is the 2008 SDA Champion, I had the Privilege of spending a half day's coaching with him down at Mabie forest, My MTB skils and confidence have come on in leaps and bounds since then… he is a first class coach…
Ae Forest, Dalbeatie, or even Mabie Or Kirroughtree, there is also Glentress and Innerliethen.. though I would hazard a guess and say that Glentress might be a tad busy bank holiday weekend…
I put an order in on Friday 6th August… recieved an email today to inform me that part of my order is out of stock…!
it was in stock when I ordered…. 😡
This is the first balls up I have had with CRC… but I would use them again for future orders…
I broke 2 ribs down at Kirroughtree last week.. be about another 7 weeks off the bike for me (due to the age factor.. at 53 they take longer to heal), and yes, i have that annoying tickly cough as well.
Once you can inhale a good lungfull of air without any pain then I would say you are good to go… 8)
horses for courses…. some use Adobe Premiere Pro others use Windows Movie Maker.. I myself use Sony Vegas Video (I record with 2 Veho Muvi cams)
be best to download trail versions of the different software and see how you get on with the differing software and then settle on one that has the best workflow for you…
Najem Balti House?,9 Victoria Street, Newton Stewart
it's the only one in town (providing Google maps is telling the truth..LOL), I have never eaten there so I really can't say if the food is good or bad… 😉
something to wedge under the grip and then spray some wd40 under the grip and then simply twist off…(make sure you have the nozzle fitted to the wd40 can)
+1 for Mark http://www.nextlevelmtb.com/ I spent half a day with him down at Mabie forest…he is a very competent coach, my techincal riding ability has improved dramatically since…
plus Mabie has the skills area and mini-x… and way to many steep hills for my old legs…. 😕
Dalbeatie is good buy as has been said it can be tuff…., will show you round the Kirrie Black if you are up for it..
@ John, would that be a biking holiday to Canada???
I may be able to meet up with you down at Kirroughtree, there are a few off piste sections there… drop me an email nearer the time.. (email in my profile..)
Kirrie has its good/bad points just like any trail centre.. I used to hate McMoab so much that I would just bypass it and just do the chute..but if you just see it as a way to improving your bike skills then you see it in a whole new light….I attempted all of McMoab last Saturday…yeah I fell off or tripped myself up more often that not….but not as much this time as last…so in effect my skills are improving….
To Simon and Tandemwarriors count me in for the next STW rideout… 😛
