Is it then an expression of support for the TdF generally perhaps?

Do they get into fights with supporters of the MTB Worlds? 🙂

Wearing a football top is akin to wearing a Pro-Team jersey and can be seen as an expression of support. This obviously doesn't apply to the TDF yellow jersey though, does it? Wearing that is like going around with a replica of the FA Cup. Odd.

If I was her I'd be claiming for unfair dismissal. Plenty things in there to justify a claim.

    Really? On what grounds?

    It's gross misconduct, she's gone.

I know Mark Webber does, not that I've met him 🙂

Get a grip Sam, your gear cable is way too long and I can't see the tyre logos lined up with the valves either… poor effort. 😀

If that baa baa top is merino aren't you supposed to hand wash it?

    I wouldn't bother, it'll be fine.

Horrible little feckers. And I always get more bites than everyone else put together… 🙁

My eldest has a CNOC14. Great bike. Any other adults been tempted to try one of them themselves? They look so much fun! I did try the Rothan he had before and that was silly fun for a 6ft 12 stone male 😀

Apart from the sensationalist headline, quite possibly provided by the editor rather than the author, she's 100% spot on –

when practised badly, actively destroys the landscape.

Quite a good article by her in last month's Singletrack about Skye IIRC.

Another +1 here too. My eldest started on a Rothan when he was 2. He now has a CNOC14 and rides it obsessively every day. Absolutely brilliant bikes. He still rides the Rothan indoors mind, which I could do without… 🙄

Yeah, did the Green/Blue a couple of weeks ago with a couple of family members who'd never been mountain biking before. I'd not done it before (did the red a couple of times a year or two ago) and was quite surprised how fun the blue/green is. Not quite sure it is suitable for people who've not got any experience of mtb'ing but my relatives really enjoyed it as well.

I'd go to A&E, you may have fractured something. And you don't mess around with your back.

I come off the towpath into Gunpowder Park then turn right onto Sewardstone Road (A112) then left onto Yardley Lane. That takes you to the Forest and your first climb is up towards Pole Hill.

Sometimes what you read in the media didn't actually happen.

Thanks for enlightening me, it's good to know there are people less naive than me around.

Is Hushovd going to blow up today? What does he think he's doing? good job if he can keep it up though…

To be fair she is recommending her top routes.

I wonder just how many she's ridden.

What makes you think she hasn't? As far as I know she's a pretty accomplished cyclist, road and MTB. I seem to remember her doing a report on MTBing in Skye and also IIRC she rode from coast to coast in the US.

As my surname is Petit I didn't expect too many to be fighting for Henry but in fact there were 12. There you go…

I have the 2009 Defy 2 with compact chainset and it's a great bike but I will warn you the wheels aren't all that great, I've had to replace the rear wheel after less than a thousand miles due to popping spokes. It could just have been a bad build of course but I thought I'd take the opportunity to upgrade to something a bit better. Nevertheless I completed the Devil Ride last weekend and the bike performed admirably.

Hell, I might just sit at my PC for bit and do a few emails fully Lycrerd (if there is such a word) before I go for a shower.

    Works for me.

Works for me too. I've even been known to go to 9.30 meetings in my baggies and cycle jersey. Comes at a cost though… I'm known to one of the directors as "Dave the Bike".

The building management in my office have pinned up notices in the shower room today saying exactly the same thing. You don't work in Wimbledon do you TD?

Isn't it roughly 2000 calories an hour at 16 mph on flat road? More on an MTB off-road I'm sure. More if you weigh "above the average" I guess too.
