Wrap a bit of electrical insulation tape round it, will do the trick until you get a replacement

Ordered a pair yesterday. Didn’t even know I wanted riding glasses until I read this….

    I don’t rate the Bob Heath anti-fog at all. This stuff works much better;

I find the stuff in the bottle the best value

Not quite what was asked for but I am building up an ano grey 5 spot with white rims and Bombers and a few bits of green ano. I like green ano but according to my mates I’m in the minority……will post some pics up when done, just waiting on a green CK inset headset

I have just done a shit in a brown paper bag. It really stinks. Would you care to exchange it for a crisp twenty pound note? I must warn you I won’t be too impressed if you decline my generous offer.

patriotpro – so you read some shit on a forum that led you to believe a firm would exchange an 18 month old rotor for a new one, not even due to a fault but because you wanted a different size, they said ‘no’ and as a result you’re ‘not too impressed’? Get a grip FFS man.

Dunno but I just ordered a set for my new 5 spot. From what I read they aren’t going to be as stiff but that will be more than compensated by the plushness, can’t wait! I didn’t go for the tapered steerer though as then I would have to run an external lower headset race and I don’t want to slacken it any more, wonder if there is a noticeable difference between tapered and non? I feel another thread coming on….

No, the camera still has to be pointing forwards and the correct angle of elevation to film ‘down’ the trail, the lens swivels around the axis like a clock face as you look at it.

I’ve got some really good trackday footage with the Drift mounted on my lid (here; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUZH0IdB4KI ) but I think motorbike helmets are a lot more stable. Certainly can’t see how you could mount a drift on your chest

I think the footage quality is comparable, possibly slightly better on the Gopro. The Drift has another advantage though in that you can mount it at any angle using the rotating lens to correct it. The Drift isn’t heavy but the older model I’ve got is fairly bulky, new one looks to be about 2/3 the size. You’ll need the external microphone (drop it into your camelbak) if you want to hear anything except for wind noise. Never used a Gopro but apparently the Drifts are a lot more user friendly

I’ve got one which I’ve used on my motorbike. Great quality footage, easy to use and the screen really helps in setting the angle up. Will try it on my new mtb soon but if I was buying one now I would go for the new one with the smaller body, particularly if you’re going to mount it to a lid

Cheers all for the info. Think I’ll try the Pikes with the Hope pick and mix headset, ultimately though the front end height will be the same as my old bike with the same forks fitted. I’m looking to get it a bit higher because of my back so a new pair of forks is probably on the cards, at least then I only have to buy a new lower assembly if I go for a tapered steerer, as Rusty says. Anyone run fixed travel 150/160mm forks and if so how are they when climbing and in tight singletrack?

    Cheers for the info chaps.

@campfreddie – yes I did see it (heard about it from you!) and emailed them to askif they had an XL demo but no luck. Yeah, you should have had it……sure the Yeti is fine…….. Can’t believe it hasn’t sold already to be honest

Cheers NCB. I assume the reduction from 1.5″ lower to 1.125″ upper is done with the upper headset race for a tapered steerer? Forgive my ignorance, I’m a bit out of touch.

How high does the front end feel with the 140s on there? I’ve got a bad back and am actually after a fairly upright seating position

How do you like the RP23 on yours? I accidentally put the same post in the chat section, Wrecker doesn’t rate the rp23 on the spot and thinks a coil is the way to go

If that demo was an XL I’d buy it. Bah.

    Blimey, that’s a bit of a bargain!

Would you mind letting me know the details of the 5 spot you were looking at and what size it is?
