    The frame was stripped but when recovered the rascals had superglued a couple of dice valve caps to the headtube. Bonkers.

    sprocker +1, that sums up the climbing nicely. Also when you’re bombing down a trail with multiple hits you can hear that psshhh, pssshhh noise of the open oil bath on every hit, I love that!

    That’s what I meant, I believe all new bombers have the 3 year warranty. Makes them a lot more appealing to take a punt on I reckon

    Cheers coynie, all the cool features that will make your life complete!

    Found out for myself as I just took a 50 mile round trip and bought three as a couple of mates wanted one, now I’ll have two camelbak buddies, yay! (To go with my DX jawbones buddy, green Endura softshell buddy and DW 5 spot buddy, sigh, life is hard).

    I’ve got the 44 rc3 ti on my 5 spot. Got them CR a couple of months ago for £500 when they had an extra 10% offer. They are lovely, I was worried about the lack of travel adjust or lockout but don’t miss either to be honest. If you are worried about the micro switch model (although I wouldn’t take everything TF say as gospel) remember the new bombers have a 3 year warranty with no servicing requirements attached

    The ones in the link are the older ones with the Omega reservoirs. 2011 on have the new Antidote reservoirs which is what I want, I really struggle to get the Omega one in my HAWG undone with my dodgy wrists.

    Mr Tall, was yours £30 and did they have many black ones left? Working in coventry so could nip over and get one….

    Coynie09, is the one you got mail order the newer design?

    KTM SMT. Not the best looking KTM but ticks all the boxes and supposed to be a riot to ride.

    Anyone want to buy a k4 gsxr1000 with 12.5k on it for 3 grand?

    Mate has got one with Pikes up front and loves it. He’s a properly quick ex DH racer type so his only complaint is ‘could be slacker’. He also got the maroon which is an old giffers colour, blue is much nicer IMO

    Not a TLD but if you can face slumming it with a carbon THE ONE these are cheap as chips;

    It’s my birthday on Saturday, my brother lives in Manc and managed to score a couple of tickets last week from a mate who couldn’t make it. Just booked my train ticket for Saturday morning heading up from the South coast, ‘cited!

    Loving the attention though isn’t he, TJ of the order of Argumentative Monks? Trying to get trolls to see sense on the internet is like p***ing on badgers – fun, but ultimately pointless.

    I had Imperials a while back, hopeless, pad ripped off the backing on every one which launched me into the trees on the last occasion. On Superstars now which are fine but best I’ve used were Goodridge

    I’ve got 760 wide bars, a 90mm stem and 40mm of spacers under it. Eat that fashion police!

    Will try and get some photos up tomorrow.

    @funkrodent – I’m in the SE so no good to you either but I’m 6’3″ and my 2011 5 spot feels perfect. Running a 90mm 10 degree stem. Only had a spin round the neighbourhood today, off road christening is tomorrow but I’m sure the L would be too small. I’ve been riding large frames for years due to wanting a nimbler frame but the spot has so much standover clearance it’s pointless.

    First observation on difference between this and my HL spot is that when pulling (rubbish) wheelies the HL would sit into its travel and then move around, the DW doesn’t and is much easier to control.

    @turnerguy – may take you up on that offer in the future.

    I finished building my DW 5 spot this evening. It’s probably too much bike for most of what I do but by crikey it looks choice, it just makes me want to ride it. I’m looking at it right now. I’ve been drinking Staropramen and red wine. I may have a lazy lob on.

    Sorry, what was the question?

    ‘such a long length’? I remember when we were all riding around on 135mm zero rise stems. And when all this were fields. The former possibly has something to do with the state of my back….

    I’ve got the 38mm Nukeproof Warhead risers. The 50mm seem to have fallen out of favour like you say smiff

    davosaurusrex

    had considered going shorter but given the forks I think I may need to keep my weight forward. Need some rise to get rid of some spacers too as I’m sure they’re not helping with flex

    davosaurusrex

    I very nearly bought Rev dual airs but in the end I paid 508 for a pair of Bomber 44 RC3 Ti from Chain Reaction. If you can live without the lockout and 200g or so extra weight…..

    davosaurusrex

    I’m after a 90mm 25 degree rise or thereabouts, all ears for any other recommendations?

    Most of the flex is probably from the stack of spacers, mahoosive bars aren’t helping either but they feel just right width wise

    The only reason I can see for it is because the new clutch mechs are apparently 10 speed only, I like the sound of them so will probably upgrade when they come out.

    My little girl has a mini micro and has loved it but has been riding bigger kids 2 wheelers lately, we’re about to get her one of these;

    Steyning is nice but not cheap. Being at the foot of Chanctonbury Ring you could spend the best part of the day climbing and descending it without doing the same trail twice, varied riding as well, best round here IMO.
    Worthing is a cheaper option, traffic wise it’s a bottle neck but has a main train station. I live just off the A27 and 30 secs from my front door I’m climbing up the side of Cissbury ring, from there it’s an easy haul across to Chanctonbury. Worthing, Steyning and Shoreham are all about 45mins to an hour to the Surrey Hills as well which is a bonus.

    Leave early enough and we’ve made it to Afan in 3 hours before.

    Couple of comments on the Bikeradar page complaining about it. Still, there’s always complaining on the internet about customer service from every firm out there. Except Turner. Did I mention I’ve just bought a DW 5 spot? Hurrah for me!

    Great bikes, climb much better than the weight would suggest. Really stiff back end, awesome downhill. I’ve got a grey 08 frame for sale, only selling because it’s a large and I really need xl (hence the xl 5 spot I’ve bought to replace it)
