That nearly cost me my 174 day streak!

I’m 50, VO2 max is 46, max HR ive seen on my Garmin is nearly 210. Fitness age is 20 apparently, I’m not even particularly fit. So I’m convinced it’s all bollocks but I might yet fall down dead from a massive coronary at any moment.

@Tom83 You do know that people from countries other than UK contribute to STW? They may see your post as perhaps a bit rude?

Then they would be overly sensitive, and too easily offended. At a guess

    Pot/kettle much?

Ordered three pairs of the Kulas. If they aren’t as good as the Step One then you owe me £30 @Drac – that’s how this works isn’t it?

Currently rewatching it with my boy,  just as good second time round. Hopefully the second (and final) series will be out early next year

That was a bugger today, luckily I got 3 core letters first guess as it took until attempt 5 to get it. Streak is 152 now

Oooh. Hmmm. But I don’t need one, dug out my ancient but little used 810 the other week and by the looks of it it will sync with my 105 di2, so with mapping and that it’ll do me I think

I have the solution – give them to your plastic Northern mate when you were in Wales last weekend,  then he can drop them into Exposure for you.  All you need is a time machine. At worst they’ll keep my FiveTens company, sitting forgotten in the back of his van….

I think you’re all missing the elephant in the room here – the Explore 2 only come in white. Doesn’t match my bike. Outrageous.

Recently moved to soft bristled paint brushes, bloody brilliant for getting into corners,  venetian blinds and especially Lego!

Not 100% but I think the rims on the ebike wheels are the same as others in the DT Swiss range (think info is on their website) but they have thicker hub flanges, steel freehub bodies for HG and maybe a few other things

Reading the book at the moment, other half also bought me the illustrated book for my birthday. Massively enjoying it and as we’re local and have been walking there regularly for years, it makes the context fascinating. The writing is excellent, too. Will wait until I’m finished before I watch the film.

Also read the Pinkbike article on the BPW extension and rewilding the other day, that sounds great, but I found the comments section (as far as I could be bothered to read) almost exclusively bitching about the ticket prices a bit disheartening.  I shouldn’t have expected any different really, but you’d hope for a bit more appreciation of nature and biodiversity from mountain bikers.

I’ve had a £40 Flowline and sent it back, fit was fine but the front profile is massive. Might not matter to you but I hated the way it looked. I have an A3 now which is just really high quality and a perfect fit for me. I like the fidlock buckle though and on an ebike so venting not as important. Come from a smashed up A2 and the A3 is noticeably more stable

All that said the Flowline is amazing value at £40 and does seem a very good lid

The Strive On is a great riding bike and unbeatable value for money but they are a bit snappy and Canyon’s warranty is still weak by the sounds of it. My brother got pretty much the first CFR in the country and he’s a bit concerned by it. That said, he never rides it which is one way of avoiding it snapping, I guess

Just had a family holiday there (Malcesine), incredible place. Couldn’t do any MTB as recovering from injury but there are ebikes and ebike hire absolutely everywhere, I would have hired one (but I’ve been on ebikes for 6 years or so and just prefer how they ride)

I’ve been to Jedi years back, excellent but I’m also on the south coast and it’s a fair hike. Some mates have just done a day with Daryl Brown at the Bull track in Crowborough and said it was excellent, three of them, think they paid £80 each. I had to miss it as injured but will book a session when I’m back to strength

In Lake Garda at the moment (which is mint, if not a bit too hot). I opened a foreign account linked to my Natwest current account with a few taps in the app, transferred money across at an OK rate, now paying contactless for everything in euros, couldn’t be easier. My wife did the same with her HSBC account but they send you a separate card to use for some reason, left it too late for it to arrive so she is just using her phone

I’m on the latest versions, 32mm, and running 60psi on a 21mm rim, I’m 88kg. So yeah, that sounds a fair bit too high. I accidentally took mine down a Kent lane that looked more like an MX track, thought I’d rip them to pieces but came out the other side with two small holes that I eventually sealed with dynaplugs. 700km on them so far, no other issues, well pleased

I wish Teams was down, would get me out of a number of meetings this morning that I really can’t be arsed with!

I hope I don’t regret my flippancy when battling to survive after the Great Crash

£70 from the money clip on my wallet when it was stupidly busy and trying to manage 3 kids logistics at Gatwick security. Didn’t notice until I went to pay at Pret. Thieving gits (well, one of them, anyway)

Whilst I agree fit is by far the most important factor, I bought a pair of carbon soled Sidi Wire 2, mainly because they look so good to be honest. I found the carbon soles to be brutal, just battered the soles of my feet. Bought some Shimano RC7 on sale and they are night and day more comfortable.  Used the same Specialized BG insoles in both so it wasn’t that

I did this to a base model alloy Mondraker but that was already out of warranty. That got nicked and I used the insurance money to buy a base model carbon Orbea Wild and I’ve changed everything bar frame and motor and electronics.  Well, I have also changed the rim magnet to rotor but that was approved by Orbea. I have separate warranty on the other new components and as long as everything is in line with the manufacturer’s design as has been said, I can’t see an issue

As for the comment about ebikes just being about durability, disagree. I think the suspension needs to be decent to control the increased mass, on the drivetrain I changed the garbage that came on it for XT linkglide, so more durable. Which is true for just about everything I’ve changed, TBH. I now have the bike I want, and it’s mint. Shame I can’t ride it for a few months as injured, doh!

Cheers all. Going to change it for an A3

[lights blue touch paper, stands well back] Have you seen the size of some e-mtbers and their ‘just plough through it’ riding style? If I were a crank, I’d probably deform too…

“Lights blue touch paper” my arse. Lame.

Also changed the e13s on my Wild before riding them. Have had a couple of sets of Praxis EHD on different bikes, solid. Was a guy selling them for £60 on Ebay at one point.

Also had the Aeffects, also solid

Just got some Pinnd 155s, not ridden yet as I’m recovering from shoulder surgery following a clipped pedal….my brother is having the Pracis off me as an E13 arm fell off his Strive:On last week!

I have heard of a few cases of the Hopes bending. I bought my Pinnds used but emailed Pinnd, they said they haven’t had a single set back for warranty
