i work on a site where about 2800 are employed.

assume half of them are women. assume 10% of them are good looking women. Assume 10% of them are REALLY good looking women.

I have at least 14 awesome girls in my office today. 8)

It may be notable that West Cumbria is generally quite an isolated and economically disadvantaged area (a characteristic shared with Dunblane, I think).

I live about 8 miles from Dunblane, and its far from an isolated or economically disadvantaged place.

I dont think there is any need to try and draw parallels at this stage.

EDIT: not having a go, but its all just speculation at the moment.

I asked for a sample last week and it arrived a few days later – can't fault that service for a freebie.

    Yet to use it though.

I think so – with traditional tubes you'd do 1/3 of the work that that method is suggesting.

Tubeless is one of these things that causes as many problems as it solves IMO. I can appreciate the benefits, but I think its a faff.

And yes I have tried it 🙂

so one way to inflate tubeless you put a tube in and pump it up, then deflate it and take it out again?

I've heard it all now. 🙂

generally I find all the cool stuff you really wanted only becomes accessible with more money i.e. once you are working you can afford it. so its much more likely you'll see "older folks" buying sports cars etc.

Aye, but DC still generates a magnetic field. So it's still going to suck all the iron to one side of your body making the other half anaemic.

so all the colour will start draining from her face?

a bit too subtle methinks 🙂

My late Grandfather was a cracking guy and had a great sense of humour. to this day I dont know if the following was a wind up or not:

He lived with me for a while, but was often alone during the day. One day he invited a couple of Jehovahs witnesses in to the house (much to their surprise, apparently) and made them a cup of tea. They shot the breeze for a few minutes until JW1 fires in with the question " So, do you think we'll ever see an end to conflict in this world?". He replied "Not until we get rid of all this religion sh!te, no."

JW1 and JW2 apparently made their excuses and swiftly departed, complete with their copies of the watchtower..

you do wonder if anyone actually pays full price for any of these items? When they can discount by 50 or 60% 18 times a year it kind've suggests the product is overpriced for the rest of the time..

    1. never be afraid to walk away. If he knows you really want it he'll get you to pay the price HE wants.

    2. never start with "so could you do a deal on this?" – makes it too easy for them to say no.

    3. make sure you make the starting offer, not him. This means he has to haggle you up the way, not vice versa.

    4. make your first offer almost insultingly low. not too ridiculous, but insulting enough to make him counter it.

    5. never be afraid of silence – never ever fill the gap in between making and offer and his response with small talk. make your offer and then shut up

    6. find reasons to beat him down further e.g. if you're buying ex display find every little fault and use them progressively through the haggle

    7. enjoy it! its not a battle its a game. He knows what he can let it go for so you just have to get as close to that figure as possible.

    8. dont accept freebies in place of discounts e.g. extended warranty etc – they can be haggled on seperately 🙂

    good luck!

now, any gent will tell you they never look.

    Thats just bollocks.

A guy at my work refused to comment on a beatiful woman who waltzed into our office one day, stating that he "loved his wife". when we all reported we loved her too, he got a bit angry.

I really dont see the issue with appreciating beauty, as long as its not done in the manner of a patron of a porn cinema (at least not in public)
its entirely natural for humans to seek out the best of the species for breeding so have no qualms keeping my eyes peeled. Of course the real trick is to do this while the wife is next to you 😉

Well, I dont know about you but if i was a 19 year old kid 3000 miles from home pissing in my pants as 88's rained hell on me, i'd like to think that someone wouldn't describe my final moments before being blown to bits as dull.

Its not whether you think anyone would want to watch, its whether we should watch. Regardless of your stance on the war a lot of those guys went through hell, a lot more didn't make it back. Lest we forget.

I bet you'd cry if someone shelled the f*ck out of you for months.

loved the bit at the end when the guy off camera says to his mate "so, you get on alright then?" and the boy starts with "yeah…"

to which off camera boy says something along the lines of "give it a f*kin rest with the f*ckin war stories eh!"

    squaddie humour, brilliant.

lol^ yeah 182 cup edition here and even with the price of fuel i wouldn't give it up.

despite the fact its a wee car in reality there isn't much on the road these days that will worry it – the hardest thing is not speeding all the time.

leggyblonde – you seem to know your Clios – is what people are saying about them being rattly and annoying true? The 200 I drove seemed pretty well made, to be honest. And my Golf rattled.

can't speak for the 200 series, but you dont buy a 1*2 clio for the interior, lets put it that way 🙂

However if you want a car that is superb on the twisties but is still mannered enough for day to day driving then a 182 takes some beating IMO.

i've just went through this exercise too – we still only have < 10% equity having bought at the peak of the market 🙁

Went from a fixed rate of 6.2% to the current variable at about 3.5%, and are overpaying the difference from what we were paying on the fixed rate. I've decided to stay with the variable for the forseeable future, because we have no equity the fixed rate deals available are pish and the fees are astronomical (£1000!) which would be added to the mortgage. So it worked out about 20 quid a month more to fix and we're not getting the benefit of overpaying with that.

I agree that if interest rates do rise, it will not be by more that 1/4 or 1/2 a percent, as a jump greater than that would have a big impact.

Basically the best thing to do is work out how much you can afford just now, overpay if possible to get the capital value of the loan down, and watch for the interest rate rising to the point where it would start to cost you more, then fix. Of course the downside of that is that the banks will be one step ahead so will likely make sure the best deals are long gone before it starts to bite…

    tough call.
