i know – mindless malicious damage. i say mindless but its actually with intent – doing every panel is obviously intended to do maximum damage. Have you had an altercation with anyone on the roads etc recently? Its a pity you cant find them and throw the book at them. with a grenade attached.

*when I say fortune I know its only 25% but the reality is that the company would spend far more administering the collection and resale of the bikes so it would be more cost effective to make it a nominal sum i.e. make it too good to bother handing it back.

yup, i dont want to give my ridgeback away after 18 months but they can bl00dy well have it back if they quote silly figures. Of course there is a distinct possibility that you could pick your own bike back up in the great company yard sale that will result from them trying to charge a fortune for the bikes and getting load of 1 year old knackered bikes back…

why leave? The urge to throw mini babybels at people has got too much

what could they have done? Organised a charity mini-babybelthrow-athon on your behalf.

agree that the base rate wont go anywhere quickly too, although its a fair point about the lenders doing a fast one overnight..

SVR + use the saved cash to overpay. Pointless saving seriously with such crap interest rates when you have a golden opportunity to reduce your debts.

fixed deals are only worth it if you have 40%ish equity in the house.

    IMo of course.

the results of recoil from firing a weapon on a segway would make a good youpube vid. Imagine Dirty harry or a sniper on a Segway…

i bought a kitchen worktop from a kitchen supply company (hewdens or something) as it was a second. got it for buttons and then borrowed a big a$$ 110v circular saw to chop it into two nice bits for the shed.

be prepared for some sodehxo restaurant chain-dullness with stodgy macaroni and sachets of brown sauce.

Still, it will be nice to sit in a 10-million pound building eating your stodge,

why exactly did Nelson Mandela host a charming little dinner party for a vicious thug and a war criminal?

A poorly-researched edition of Celebrity come dine with me?

I dont think it really matters where it is, the cost vs benefit would be prohibitive.

a project doesn't have to make sense to go ahead

I agree, if the coffers are full and the good times look like they'll just keep on rollin'. Edinburgh trams anyone?

However, in this economic climate where the government are canning projects to build SCHOOLS, I doub't you'll find anyone except the enthusiastic minority supporting this. The public sector won't touch it with a barge pole and the private sector have had ample opportunity to get involved and haven't.

Its all about priorities and this project had its chance during the MTB "boom" earlier in the decade. Nobody did anything about it then so they sure as hell aren't going to do anything about it now i'm afraid.

Where and who are the DH pioneers with the wherewithall, backing and bottle to lead the Innerleithen project?

    At home watching this:

Moved from Avids to Shimano and love them. I'd bin the juicys – the last straw for me was the crappy phenolic pistons crumbling (due in part to having to force them apart to get new pads / discs in)

just because someone dons a black balaclava it doesn't make them a member of the SAS.

got a pair yesterday – cheers! there were three different styles available at my lidl, but went for the ones shown in the ad link above. Seem to have a good bit of coverage for my eyes and see to fit my face well. like you say 4 quid is nothing, so if they get scratched etc then ist no great loss..

it's not about being impressive, skil and all that shit. it's about joy. something us grownups forget too easily.

amen to that. seems to me these days kids dont have time to be kids any more.

whilst we're on the subject which marketing a-hole decided that every **** advert about needs caveats at the bottom now. I particularly loathe the ones implanted in film trailers. Black hawk down contains "sustained battle horror" apparently. really?

and dont get me started on those halifax adverts…

just as well the doggers at carron valley weren't waiting on the toilets being built – it took 25 years for the Fc to get their arse in gear.

ardbeg 12yo is good, not had the more expensive ones but of all the malts I've had that has a great character.

tried laphroaig quarter cask courtesy of some firendly peeps on a bike tour a couple of weeks back and was drinking it neat quite happily. very nice indeed and not associated with the knicker-ripping legend that it and lagavulin share.

if its a major service or for something like a cambelt then a dealer stamp is worth it to prove its been done, otherwise just do it yourself.

nice. massive air in some of those but they make it look easy. It also looks like they aren't actually going that fast to clear the gaps, something which totally screws with my head 🙁

I met a couple on honeymoon who live a few blocks from that joint and he couldn't believe i'd heard of it. Looks like a serious playground now though..

it would have been good to honeypot them.

streaming copyrighted content across an unsecured network so if they recorded it surely that would be a breach of copyright too?

Like someone said above I can't imagine they caught much whilst driving by at 15 or so mph.
