Thanks Oakley muppet. Not wishing to derail the thread too much, genuinely grateful for this calm perspective.

“The first step in overcoming being an asshole is accepting yourself as being an asshole – no need to beat yourself up about it. Awareness is the first step.“

This is encouraging, and I’m not even joking. I’m currently facing up to the results of my assholery and it feels like the world is ending tbf.

You could hand-wring the heck out of this decision or you could just drive out and have your bike ride. Avoid telling the internet about it too, helps ime

I think masks in shops is daft too but whatever, people seem to be crapping themselves so I don’t want to upset them.

Forcing kids to wear them in school in a ineffective attempt to eliminate some unknowably small risks is a step too far for me!

Ps the track sounds really good already by the way, liked the voice and the arrangement!

    Some great tips above.

    My advice from personal experience:
Whatever you do, make sure daughter does not get bogged down too much in the tech.

DJ yoda produced superb albums using two cassette tape recorders back in the day.

Having limited means is a boost to creativity: Focus on the music first and don’t get paralysed searching for perfection!

    All the best

Loved it. Clapped like crazy. Then my mate was admitted to a covid ward, which was empty except for one other person. The clapping was working!! A month or so later and it’s worked so well, even I can accept we don’t have to do it anymore.

NHS stats showing Hospital deaths for Uk down to very low levels now. Under 40s zero for a few days. Very good news, not trying to be provocative but this thing looks like it’s run it’s course in the Uk to me, touch wood.

Politics is very divisive isn’t it?

When would you start lifting restrictions? Looks like we never overwhelmed the NHS, Mission accomplished?

The NHS publish a spreadsheet every day with the deaths in hospital from covid 19. You can even check by region and age range.

I’m not worried about touching gates.

Your situation sounds very tricky – wishing you all the very best sounds like you are doing a very tough job all round.

Can asymptomatic carriers really pose a significant risk of transmission? Not finding much evidence from WHO. Seems to be the main reason people are worried.

The reasoning being that the kids who attend are from a huge Geographical area

Hold on, so it’s NOT all about a class war on poorer kids???????

Seriously I think ideally Families should choose, if fit and healthy why not go back?
Teachers in high risk groups should also obv have option to not return.

This will mean some schools short staffed obv, case by case common sense required.

Testing, so we can quarantine the sick
Isolate high risk groups for a bit longer
French style regional traffic light system
Transparent stats on hospital capacity (these may exist already)
Hang people buying more than one bag of flour a week in my area

“Imagine” if many hospitals in UK had empty or nearly empty covid wards. What would people think about lifting the lockdown then? Cos it was to stop overwhelming the NHS, right?
I think a lot of people would quite like to get back to work under those circumstances!

When the NHS app uses the Apple/Google framework, I’ll use it. No way in hell this lot are installing a back door on any of my computers, handheld or not.

Not sure I trust Apple and google either though! Oh dear!

I can proudly say that while I’ve seen some “non lockdown” behaviour, I would absolutely never, ever report anything.

Look how keen some people are to support the removal of civil liberties of their neighbours for petty reasons.

    Any alarm bells ringing?
