Was quite surprised alpkit didn’t want a deposit off of me either, fairlight did and was eventually returned to me as there was no delivery date in sight

Had the same very generous offer, I went for the new model, as the fork mounts looked handy, and I’ve already a cross bike.

Just starting this journey with a 2010 stepwagon, should be very good value compared to going through a UK dealer or buying a UK car. Just a long wait now til it lands in Southampton.

Might be just as quick or quicker to just use Simpsons rule if you’re not familiar with CAD. Should give a fairly good estimate.

Expensive ones don’t seem to last longer in my experience, but tend to be stiffer / fancier closing (boa etc)

I’d be interested in this too, not much out there on these

Wattbike atom have a rubbish seat post design, which once its started slipping, keeps slipping. The ones I’ve used had all had multiple replacements, which might be an issue for your use.

Recently built up an 29″ one of these, only 30mm wide but dirt cheap. Seems like CRC only have it in 27.5 now tho

I wonder whether the general attitude is shifting? Not seen any road groups at all, but saw a big group on MTB on Dartmoor today.

I’ve pre-ordered the new see sense lights, some quite nice smart functions, UK manufactured and possible to send them back for service/repair.

British cycling have a calender, but as you say doesn’t include non BC registered events.

Sportive.com seems have a more all encompassing calender

Had an inbred, the old white one, pretty much the only people offering something of that ilk at he time and rather liked it

As people say, the range has gone a bit nuts since, and somehow lost a bit of that charm.

Personally I’ve always had a good experience with them.

Ive had some dreadful looking “camo” dhb SPD shoes, which seem well made and are comfy. Think they are circa £35 at wiggle.

    Just don’t look down.

Honda blackbird, mines like riding a fast sofa. Get circa 40mpg on the A road commute, more on motorways.

I’ve those urban camo efforts from dhb, not as offensive as I might of feared (mainly as I don’t look at my own feet much) and a good fit, and you can always hide them under overshoes

I’ve a super GPS on the bike and really rate it, really easy to setup and customise the data pages on my phone, syncs easily with Strava and battery lasts an age

They are just rebranded kinlin rims and novatech hubs aren’t they? You could get the same (quite good rims) with better hubs for same money I’d think, sans branding.

The hunts wheels use kinlin rims I think, so if you like the look of those, you could get some built up on a hub of your choice. Just done some rim braked ones on bitex hubs, which have bigger bearings than novatech but still relatively light/cheap but not sure what disc options they do.

Water companies estimates vary between an average of around 120 litres per head per day through 150-160ish. Yours is pretty good, there may well be a bit of water companies hiding leakage in those figures too.

Go to the states or middle east they’ll be up in the 300’s so not so bad here really.
