it’ll depend entirely on the bikes you are wanting to hang, start with one and work it out on the fly.

I’ve been using one of these

    Polar M200

brilliant bit of kit, heart rate tracks identically to my Garmin 25 with pro strap. so much so that i don’t use the Garmin any more.

The polar flow app is great and syncs with Strava.

knee pain has very little to do with float on a pedal and a lot to do with position on the bike… might be worth looking into that if you suffer

I had one go on me last November, snapped as the bike slipped out on a root. Cue foot smashing into the ground and one broken ankle..

Only just gone back to clips and they are

How new are the chainrings? 3×9 it could be that the kick is the chain picking up on one of the pins on the rings due to the specific chainline..

all those links are dead now, so either they got the pricing wrong and hurriedly removed the products or they have an incredibly crap site..

He doesn’t hate bikers, far from it, what he hates is people effectively riding in and treating his back garden as theirs, can’t say i blame him. the fact they are on 2 wheels is irrelevant.
He’s always been pleasant when i’ve met him, but i’m not the sort of person to get angry for being told i shouldn’t be there and i’ve always been on Bridleways (when we’ve crossed paths), NOT fire roads, which are not Bridleways…

Should probably get this clearly posted up in all the car parks as not everyone who visits will be on this forum.

I heard about this a while back, what a bunch of idiots for doing that, you don’t poke the bear. The crap he has had to put up with over the years i’m surprised there aren’t automated machine gun turrets in the woods.

Seriously though, there is no need to do any more digging up there. there are a lot of self entitled idiots who think they have all the rights to do what they want up there and it really winds me up. Some of them who should know a lot better..

    Just enjoy what is there.

DAB radio has more pronounced drop offs than normal radio. i have places where it goes dead in the same place every day. its just what they do.

do a completed listing search on ebay and see what others have gone for and price accordingly, much more accurate than asking on here.

the HR straps are notorious at not being picked up once you change the battery or they get a little old. there is a procedure to swapping the battery that must be followed.
Never had a problem with my 500 or 25 connecting to anything.

I learnt to Wheelie at around 13-14 and can still wheelie for miles to this day (almost 30 years later)
Manuals tho… not a chance, i try every single damned ride and still can’t do it for more than 3-4 seconds. even that is once in a blue moon.

I hate their website that forces you to sign up before viewing anything. price might be good, but god that puts me off.

I don’t get the hate on Hydraulics on the reverb and the rush to replace them, its not like you see people rushing to convert their brakes to cable operated….
Hydraulic is lower maintenance, its a doddle to bleed if you need to take the post out and the last one i had was faultless. only issues i ever had with reverbs were internal to the post, the hose and button were ultra reliable.

My original Praxis bearings lasted 2 weeks and 3 rides. thankfully its just a bearing so a simple upgrade and away you go.

As above really, saw these a while back, think they are a great idea for really crap days, just a shame they are priced on the ridiculous side of things.

Is it pressfit or BSA? if pressfit then no, you’ll knock the cups out and damage them, if its BSA then you probably can, but its hardly worth it as the bearings cost more than the BB.
SRAM gxp bbs are terrible in my experience, always fail on one side quickly.
You could replace with a Hope with a GXP conversion kit which will allow you to change bearings easily in the future.
Alternatively, take the new BB apart and fully clean out the stock grease and re-fill it with decent waterproof grease from new. then maintain it every few months.

is the frame carbon? i’d be very worried about it hitting the frame. even a light ally frame is going to be thin walled in the middle of a tube, right where the levers would hit.. i’ve seen carbon road bikes written off just for falling over and the bars smashing the top tube..

XT and XTR both shift 2 gears on the upshift (small paddle) if you push with your thumb, if you pull with your index finger they both shift one gear.

I’ve had XTR and XT. XT is more positive in action, much more positive, which I prefer. XTR is lighter action and a bit more vague.

Carbon lever on XTR is nice, but makes no difference when wearing gloves apart from being a little slippery compared to XT.

Both work equally as well as each other, but I think XT is better, depends what sort of shift feel you like? XT also has had more time to evolve from XTR and iron out flaws.

I currently run XT and sold all my XTR rather than swap it to my current bike.

Most but not all Downhill racers have no rear suspension and have it all in the front, as far as I know, but I’m no expert.

    you don’t say..

Shimano historically you go up a size, 5ten normally half size.

However.. the new freerider pros and related models are spot on. If you are a ten get a ten etc

Thats rubbish quite frankly, I’ve done it myself once, took 3 hours at a good pace and there are no bubbles or edges. It is not hard to do at all. looks like the bike wasn’t cleaned and degreased properly before they started which is key.

totally underwhelmed by the one Hope HT11 BB i bought, Stainless bearings were rough from the start and it only got worse gave up after 3-4 rides and went back to Shimano. Got a new frame and fitted some new bearings to the hope as i though i might as well use it, lasted maybe 5 rides. gone back to Shimano. Shame as Hope make some ace kit.
