Stinky – lovely bike. My son used his lots and it took a pounding. Best tip from TF Tuned was to remove one of the springs from the fork legs.

Other son had a marin bayview. Nice light bike.

Now they have a Giant Trance XS and a Specialized Stuntjumper FSR. Been to the alps a few times. Bought my eldest son a Super tacky 2.5 for the front last year on holiday fearing that he would tear the front tyre. Has not wanted it taken off since coming back.
Just found another one in the shed for the youngest son’s bike.

I have worked on software where it uses GPS to obtain timing accuracy of 50 parts per billion. So GPS can accurately time.

But actually you are not talking about timing only, but location based at a specific time.

My 11 year old, who is tall, is riding an XS Giant Trance, has had it for a few years now. Really good weight.
My 13 year old is on a small stuntjumper fsr, also had it for a few years.

Both secondhand and both have been to the alps on them.

We have a (now) 5 bed house. Ummed and arhh about combi/megaflow. went combi and dont have enough flow and there is no way 2 showers can work.
That is my biggest regret. I am guessing that a megaflow would have helped, but the incoming flow might have limited it’s usefulness.

We didn’t need steels and therefore didn’t need to hassle the neighbour (loft span is probably 10m x 4m).

I have tried getting boots in the sale for the last few years. Nothing special about my feet or size of feet and have failed to get any during this sales period. They don’t appear (down South) to carry a large amount of stock and especially now at this point of the season.

As an aside, I had real problems with my boots, had to unclip on every lift. Then had them fitted whilst in Whistler. He even resorted to taking a knife to the outer shell. Never had a problem since. Best money I have ever spent.

Went from owing no tax to a demand for a few thousand, came from nowhere. A few years later it turns out they slipped with a decimal point. A few years after that they finally admitted no tax was due.

Just received a tax code adjustment where they seem to have applied the profit for all partners to the single tax code. Here we go again…

    Have done:

3 days france, driving there and back. REALLY hard work. Wouldn’t do it again.

4 days italy, hotel owner picks us up from airport and ferries us the whole time. no need for hire car. Did do bristol-italy flight, but that is now closed and is now gatwick-italy.

4 days austria, fly to munich, downside – 4hr drive to resort. Stayed in smaller resort because of cost/availability. Once place was Pfunds.

In the 5 series the facelift around 2007 brought a cleaner and therefore more efficient engine.

Had a 535d for over 5yrs. Did about 60k miles. No problems with the engine. Long term mpg was 28-30mpg. Round town mpg is dire. Doing 50mph (due to spacesaver) did get it do 50mpg.

Once the hammer goes down you have exchanged contracts.
You then normally have 28days (sometimes more) to complete.
Most buyers at an auction would not be paying for a survey beforehand, but that is because most aren’t normal buyers.

It is definitely worth speaking with the auctioneer beforehand, they can sell stuff before the auction. Sometimes they might let you know what the interest level is like.

Based on experience I would suggest that you work out what your limit is and bid aggressively right up to it. If you are timid then anybody bidding against you might “find” an extra bit of money thinking they can knock you out of the running. If you appear to want it regardless then sometimes people drop out.

I know of person who lost out on a house they wanted and the winner was somebody who bought it just because it was cheap.

What is the top app based on battery use?
Mine was google+ (used 80% of the battery!) only thing that worked was uninstalling it.

Mine skied at about 2.5yrs. Used green run in Alp D’Huez. Worked really well. He enjoyed. They used to do a time limited pass, so I would go and get some skiing in and then go back.
Wife (mostly) taught/played with him. snowblades are really useful in that situation.

Wife was all paid up regarding HMRC about 5yrs ago.
Next letter stated ~£4k was due.
About one month ago they finally sorted it out. (It was because they had entered an amount incorrectly, by a factor of 10). I had no paperwork that indicated what they had done.
My accountant was able to get different/better information that demonstrated this (from their systems). It still took about 4yrs to clear it up…(sorry, scratch that, it still took 4yrs for them to correct it in writing, still awaiting the refund cheque).

    I have just done this.
    HDD (+256gb) => SSD (120gb)

Came with s/w to do it.
It failed, came up with a stupid error.

Thought about it for a short time.
Then just bought an upgrade to win8 (£25) and put that straight on there.

Good call about the bolognese. Wife is extremely good at hiding vegetables in a meal (not really needed for the kids, but she does it sometimes anyway). cauliflower mashed into mashed potato and swede and other stuff. Once I think it got into double figures the hidden ingredients.

I have a Q7, just did home to Morzine with 4 bikes on the tow bar.
It was extremely quiet, very easy and it performed flawlessly. Had it for about 6months. Before that I had a 5 series estate. The Q7 is about same length, is wider and does fit in spaces less (easily? or just less…)

It is a ridiculous car, it is a crazy size. But it works and fits what I need it for. It does not get used around town. Fuel consumption – have seen it show an average of 40+mpg for a journey, but that is very much the exception. Did average something like 34mpg with bikes through france @ 82mph. Long term is currently 31mpg (I am not very patient).

Haven’t used the 7 seats much. But would not consider buying the Q5 (that seems too compromised in my mind).

Was ironic in the winter – take a 4wd to work in the snow (on pirelli Pzero) or 2wd with winter tyres. I did both and the 2wd was almost certainly safer.

Apparently you can’t get anybody who wants the 4.2tdi (a friend of a friend was looking to get do a trade-in and nobody would bid for the car).

bloke in work had a nissan micro lpg (from factory).
    numerous problems with it.
AA seemed to know of lots of problems where injectors (petrol) would have a problem during startup. Once started I don’t think he ever had a problem.

He drives a plain petrol now.

There is a group who meet somewhere near the train station (I believe) on a Wednesday evening, I am sure one of them will be along shortly (if not, you can drop me an email and I can pass you some contact details).

There is another group (us) who ride all over the place (bath, bristol, cwmcarn, FoD).

Browns Folly, down to the canal, Limpley Stoke and over to the uni was this week’s Wednesday night ride.
