Check turbo air hoses. Could explain loss of power. Rattling is a tough one. If it smokes like a bonfire suspect fuel pump / timing trouble.

    Happy shopping!

Having had both Hi Rollers and ACX, I’d say I prefer the Rollers. Just that little more grip and more predictable breakaway. ACXs are well fast mind.

Nice shots, Mr Nutt. I like a bit of lo-fi photography, both for the challenge of the shot and the “back in the day” finish.

    £5 disposable, 35mm(ish) f.something 1/probably 60

We should have a lo-fi contest. One £5 disposable. One day. One image.

NFU again. 10 faultless years with van and house. Real people on the end of the phone too.

I stayed in a great cottage type place a few years back. The details that made it work for biking were:
    1. Space: plenty of it in the bedrooms and communal area for all the clutter that comes with bikes.
    2. Drying room, with washing machine
    3. Hosepipe and secure storage
    4. Loads of parking.

It was about 15 miles from Newton Stewart, so good for access to the centres. Only downsides were lack of pubs in local area.

Ok, they look fun, but unless you NEED, and I mean NEED, the 4×4, get a van.

The pickups have poor interior packaging (the rear seats are too low and short, plus you can’t load through), barge-like turning circle, and will not fit bikes in the bay without taking wheels off. They are also sods to drive (especially the L200 with 4.2 turns lock-to-lock!).

For a few weeks you’ll feel like Action Man and enjoy tail-sliding off wet roundabouts (they’re RWD in roadmode), but after that its wallowing inefficiency will annoy you.

I’ve used Nivara and L200 (old and new) for 4 years with work, but for bike transport I run a VW T5.

Have a look at both twincab pick-ups and vans and I reckon you’ll see what I mean.

The place has probably been repossessed to be auctioned off. He wants to make sure the ******* ****** *****ing man gets as little as possible for it.

RETURN TO YOUR HOUSE AND SHELTER IN THE INNER SANCTUM TILL THE DUST SETTLES…

…Oh no, it’s not nuclear war, it’s snowing.

You’ll probably die of boredom with 2 miles.

Tough one, but I really like the current Vantage. Really well proportioned.

I had an old style 5″ Coiler. Struggled with it to start, but as I got fitter (and added high rollers) it suddenly came alive and would romp up anything. Check your shock is tuned right, and mojo it if needed.

Now put that short stem back on!

    Sounds like an early Megger.

Try googling Megger Test Equipment, or Wiki it

Rickmeister – that’s a good looking T5. Less bling than a sportline, but still mean.

I hate to ask this on here, but, w o t t y r e s for T5? Standard 16″ rims on 215s at the mo, and lots of Scottish backroad driving.

    Got it sorted!

Used a Bonty ACX tyre on Tubeless Ready rim, and hey presto it worked!

Tyre choice seems to be the answer

My old Transit, at Mountain Ash.

Scaled down MX van style – bikes stored in rear and tea drink / sleeping area in middle. Rockin stereo, gutless motor. 3x tours of Europe. Loved to bits.

Now have a T5174, but no photos yet…

I had anger management issues with non-tubeless tyres – search for the thread, there were some useful pointers for getting it to work.

    Nick,

While I appreciate the irony that a race-tuned yah yah multi £k bike can be defeated by the humble thorn, there has to be a better way…

    Thanks for the pointers!

Have just cruised the mean streets looking for an air compressor, but all the garages have the new style digital crap.

It’s only flow rates. If I can force more air in than comes out the sides, it should snap into place.

Got a Swampthing onto a Bonty ACX rim quite easily with Stans, but this is being a sod.
