  • Greg Minnaar: Retirement 20 Questions with the GOAT
  • Very cheeky, but ride The Lawley for a unique trail experience.

Becoming a big problem down here in Dorset.
25 bikes recovered last week from one address alone.

Only two of us out on the club meet today.

Met the angriest dog walker you could possibly encounter, but everything gets back to normal tomorrow.

I live in Wimborne and ride with Dorset Rough Riders. They’ll show you everything around the area.

    Pedalhounds at Cwmcarn.
Hidden Gem on the Isle of Wight

I use an XL for UK size 7 Freerider Pros!

    Don’t ever use Gorilla tape.
It works fine until you leave your bike in the hot sun and the gum goes soft, then the sealant works its way into the spoke holes.
Then you need a whole bottle of acetone to clean it up.

    Don’t read it before 9pm

Do the West Fell path, not the bridleway. Ride it anticlockwise.

This route out of Llandegla/ One Planet looks like a nice diversion out from the main trails.

Just go to Tunnel Hill instead!

A couple of my riding buddies got into a fist fight with a Mr Angry who was throwing stones at them. After the red mist descended he ended up on the deck. All this on a bridleway.

POFA not normally applicable at most harbours.
Parking Eye only want money and reject all appeals
Late ferry is not an applicable reason
If you have to appeal, just say ‘the driver’ did this/ that. No ‘I’ ‘we’ “he’ etc
i.e don’t give them a chance to identify who was driving.

Unlike most ‘private’ car parks, it’s not relevant land under the POFA regs (where they persue the vehicle keeper for costs).
DO NOT reveal that you were driving
DO NOT contact Red Funnel, they’re owned by ABP and couldn’t care.

Now go to http://forums.pepipoo.com/ for advice

Is it a corporate machine that has been set up with the Enterprise version of Windows?

No hardware upgrades. Bought retail and it came with Windows 7 and upgraded fine to 10. Its only recently the upgrades have been acting like viruses. Maybe its a 32 bit thing.

I can no longer activate Windows despite pre installed on my Acer. If I enter the code on the label stuck to the machine it gets rejected and tells me its a dodgy copy!

Be discreet. Don’t make it look obvious you’re carrying tools around and evenings are best. Make yourself aware of the patrol routes and times they are about.
I still managed to get caught once. Getting dark one Sunday in November. A couple of FC blokes who turned out to be cool about it provided I wasn’t building jumps or digging around tree roots.

The prospect of a Farage/ Hopkins/ Morgan Sunday morning debate show putting the world to rights is loomimg closer….

They could always bring back Roland Rat. Worked for TV-am back in the day.

    Do they sell Sick bikes?

A lot of advice here applies to England and Wales only. For Scotland and NI you ignore totally despite the threatening letters that come your way for months on end. You only end up in court if multiple tickets are involved.
As above, the law will change soon so you’re lucky. For now its vital that the driver is not identified, so don’t take the bait.

the flyback frequency was quite distinctive

They used the IF or intermediate frequency generated by the TVs tuner. This was 39MHz above the signal from the channel being received.
For instance, the bottom channel #21 was at 470MHz. So they would use a receiver tuned to 509MHz and a directional hand held aerial to pinpoint a set to gain their evidence.
These days just say nothing (they are recording every word) and shut the door.

” I ride where I ****ing well please and I don’t give a **** about anyone except myself” usually gets them fired up. Childish I know, but cheers me up for the rest of the ride without getting angry.

I’ve had issues with a stereotypical old dog walker on a bridleway that runs parallel to an old railway track now a cycleway. As usual she wouldn’t listen to reason and just went apoplectic when I rattled off a list of access and obstruction laws and fines.
I left her to call the cops as I suggested.
Funny how no woman on her own should risk starting an argument with a stranger in a wood, yet the sight of a bike and all caution goes out the window.

You need to be patient if ordering from Tredz…
    Tredz

1 inch dia and 1.1/4 inch long as far as I can see without dismantling everything.

The National Crime Agency have been trying to arrest me for months. They keep calling but just can’t seem to find me.

I’ve been chased for over two miles across heathland by a pair of medium sized hounds who ignored their screaming owner. No idea if he ever got them back after they collapsed from exhaustion.
Worst owners are the ones who explain the situation by “well of course you’ll get bitten, you startled poor little Trixie”.

I could create a gpx file on Memory Map, add a date and speed with track editor and give myself a KOM without leaving the house.

The NX will break in half before the hanger snaps!

    Highly recommended: https://www.appliancesdirect.co.uk/p/dd128/ecoair-dd128-dehumidifier

Can’t comment on the dehumidifier, but I’m never using appliancesdirect again. New Ebac smoked and died when first plugged in. Asked for my money back but I’ve had to open a Paypal dispute to get them to respond.

Someone had a Levo stolen but they alerted Specialized who logged it on their database.
    Recovered in Romania.

    Had mine done last year.
The first two weeks were tough, but I was back on the bike after a month albeit on easy stuff and being super careful not to crash!

I use Collect Plus instead of Royal Mail for batteries.

As someone who is ‘getting on a bit’ I can tell you it was just as bad 50 years ago.
