Back in 2000 a small group of friends & I did most of GR55 in the Vanoise region of the Western Alps.
We flew into Geneva, based from Pralognan-La-Vanoise & had a hire car. Was epic, still look back on it & want to do similar again! We had good weather on all but the last day. Hard going but beautiful scenery, especially walking above the clouds in a valley down below…

I use the same one with my Samsung too, stuck to the rear of the tv. I failed once after ~9months use I think, but was replaced under warranty no probs.

And also for what it’s worth – make sure you use rawl-plugs that sit flush in the hole, if you get ones that the outer lip/flange sit proud of the wall then the pole brackets will not be flat against the wall.

On my ’02 RS Clio it was more of an amusement than anything. And when I took it to a Renault specialist for something minor they read the fault codes & picked up a couple that the cheap eBay OBD2 bluetooth reader & Torque hadn’t…
If you’re anywhere near Warrington, take it over to TDI-North if you need excellent support.

FWIW, a better sound card makes a big difference.
I’ve got an ASUS Xonar DG you can have on the cheap if you want to try it?
If you want a USB device, i can recommend the ASUS Xonar U1 – it’s made a big improvement to my active monitor speakers.

    Err – you can! http://www.sportsshoes.com/nike-lunareclipse/

Gait analysis is useful yes. It helps you buy a trainer which is designed to work best taking into account the way your feet strike the floor whilst running, which is usually different to how your feet move around/strike the floow when walk.
If you buy the wrong type (like i’ve just done with my trail trainers!), you can end up with sore feet, painful arches, and a whole host of other ailments, etc..

Yep I have it for my Dad. Neither of us have it for my mum as she has dementia so it’s the social workers that make life-affecting decisions for her now :(
He used a solicitor to do it but that’s just so he knew it was all done properly.

Well if you can get that Asus U1 i’d recommend it, very happy with mine, but you may struggte to find one now.

I use an ASUS Xonar U1, I was lucky enough to buy last of stock at local Currys/PC World for £10; http://www.asus.com/uk/Sound_Cards_and_DigitaltoAnalog_Converters/Xonar_U1_Audio_Station/

I plug it into the RCA inputs on my active monitors using a 3.5mm adaptor, and it massively improved the sound – not just louder, but clearer and with more detail. See if you can get one, i’m pretty sure it’ll be better than those really cheap dongles.

P.S. Tumble dryer – use a condensing one like we do. Lives behind a door under the stairs. Works well & only introduces a little humidity into the air. But then our place is 100yrs old & a bit draughty…

Make sure you go to the cider boat round the corner from Mud Dock; http://applecider.co.uk/ – get some of their mulled cider. It’s a phenomenally awesome beaker of loveliness!

The Mayflower chinese restaurant is a hidden gem. Great food. Less great surroundings (but that was part of the charm for my wife & I) http://www.mayflower-bristol.co.uk/

You should do a search on here, it’s usually asked once or twice a year. Search for “Weymouth”, pretty sure that’s come up in the last 6months.

Stay away from Broadchurch (West Bay) area at night – proper dodgy around there ;-)

Doing a 90 minute 1/2 at your first attempt would be very good & i’d be quite jealous – I managed 2hours having put in a reasonable training effort (albeit not very focused).

Those are are normal brands of reasonable quality.
Textar, for example, made the pads sold by a manufacturer of a previous car I had as their own, but you could buy the same thing much cheaper direct from a factors. Same p/n markings & bits in the box too..

Solid boards like celotex, I think you need a 50mm gap between it and the felt/sarking.
    http://www.celotex.co.uk/applications/pitched-roof-insulation

If you want a warm, dry loft space, then the insulation needs to go at the top – either between or under the rafters – with a vapour barrier fitted below it.

I ditched my Saris Bones as I got fed up of faffing around with the straps to fit the thing, and unless you do wash the paintwork beforehand it will scratch. Matters less on a silver or white car, but still not ideal.
(looking on in 159SW envy, I want one also!)

BeyondPod for podcasts – strong ability to find stuff to listen to whatever your fancy.
Soundhound to track down a music track you hear in the background/pub/on tv if you want to find out what it is.
Colour Torch useful if your phone has a LED light on the rear, so you can use your phone as a torch. It can use the screen too, if not.

The “Cambridge Minx” sound-base is supposed to be a good audio performer & reasonably priced. I am considering one myself…

As above, I use a logitech squeezebox (bit old now) to pump MP3s/FLAC from my network storage into my stereo amp. The CD player (the same Marantz as yours!) is out of hibernation but hasn’t been used for >6months.
If you buy the right music streamer it’ll also do digital radio stations so you get more for your £££.

You can fit your own temporary secondary glazing of a fashion.
Perspex sheets with magnets around the edges + opposing magnet on the window frame, and you can hang them as required, makes a big improvement for the cost. It’s a popular thing among those who have single-glazed sash windows. I think you can buy them pre-made ready to put in place.

I’d also suggest looking on ebay before committing to high street shops/the dealer.

If you want a posh dinner while you’re in barca, I can’t recommend highly enough a restaurant called Pla; http://www.elpla.cat/pla/barcelona-restaurant/index.html – was good service & great food & wine when we went there. (we got engaged there!)

Portions aren’t big, price wasn’t too bad but the food was great. possibly the nicest meal we’ve had over the last 5years.

We walked from the Sagrada Familia & the beach, then back to the top or Las Ramblas – not a good idea, was a long trek although we probably didn’t take the most direct route!
Definitely a good idea using one of the circular tourist bus routes to get around as it’s quite spread out – not normally a fan of them but in Barcelona it seemed a good way to find where things are & decide if you want to go to them as things are spread out.

This website: http://www.barcelona-tourist-guide.com/ was the most inspirational for me.

We stayed at Hotel Jazz, and got breakfasts at local cafes, it was ok.

Are they living there? If not, have a word to find out if they’ll be starting at that time every day, if not introduce yourself & ask in passing.

Incase unsure, you may want to put some batten horizontally around the bottom, one tile width up (i think), to ensure you start from a level point all the way round. That’s what i’ve been told to do before, anyways.
