I'd imagine it would struggle more trying to produce a pure black.

if you increase the performance, then the insurer will increase the premium – pretty obvious I suppose. They will care not a jot if your intent was to improve economy.

How much is down to the individual insurer (and, it seems, the phases of the moon. I reckon they just guess a number anyway). Only answer id to call them ans ask. Most are OK once you get to speak to a human – tell them the plan, and they will check with the underwriter, and call you back with the joke of a price.

Took the J7's off my Nomad when I got it and stuck SLX's on. So much better (IMHO)

tight enough to shear & back off 1/4 turn

    How do you manage that?

    Years of practice.

    dave_aber

No. Unless something must be done up to a particularly low setting for some reason, then tight enough to shear & back off 1/4 turn is normally good enough for me.

To me they look great, and the UI is very nice when it's all going well. However, every time I have tried one I run into frustration when 'they' take over what I am trying to do*. Personally, I prefer buttons to touch screen – mainly because I'd find it too difficult to text / update facebook whilst driving (I know!) but in all honesty, I find buttons easier to use than any of the touchscreen offerings I've tried. Currently got an e71, planning to just get an e72 when I'm allowed a free upgrade (about 2 months), unless something else pops up in time.

Don't think I could really handle the battery life either, which seems to go hand-in-hand with touchscreens (touchscreen = big screen?)

*e.g. SMTP server settings had been set wrong, and user sends an email. It won't send. I correct the SMTP server settings, and for some reason the damn iphone keeps trying to send using the old settings. I can't cancel the message which is still being sent to the wrong SMTP server. Rebooting it doesn't help. Send a new message, and it is stuck behind the old one with the wrong server settings somehow welded to it. Arrgghh… Just stop sending the damn message. On a nokia, just press cancel, correct the SMTP server, then send again. Maybe it's me, but I just don't 'get' the "you can't do that" way they are designed.

Had the privilege to work on them in the 80's during my RAF training. Mach2 straight up. Not many modern jets can do that, never mind ones from the 1960's

    it is.

It's been one week since you looked at me
Cocked your head to the side and said "I'm angry"
Five days since you laughed at me saying
"Get that together come back and see me"
Three days since the living room
I realized it's all my fault, but couldn't tell you
    Yesterday you'd forgiven me
but it'll still be two days till I say I'm sorry

Hold it now and watch the hoodwink
As I make you stop, think
You'll think you're looking at Aquaman
I summon fish to the dish, although I like the Chalet Swiss
    I like the sushi
'cause it's never touched a frying pan
Hot like wasabe when I bust rhymes
    Big like LeAnn Rimes
    Because I'm all about value
Bert Kaempfert's got the mad hits
You try to match wits, you try to hold me but I bust through
Gonna make a break and take a fake
I'd like a stinkin achin shake
I like vanilla, it's the finest of the flavours
Gotta see the show, cause then you'll know
    The vertigo is gonna grow
    Cause it's so dangerous,
you'll have to sign a waiver

How can I help it if I think you're funny when you're mad
Trying hard not to smile though I feel bad
I'm the kind of guy who laughs at a funeral
    Can't understand what I mean?
    Well, you soon will
I have a tendency to wear my mind on my sleeve
I have a history of taking off my shirt

It's been one week since you looked at me
Threw your arms in the air
    and said "You're crazy"
Five days since you tackled me
I've still got the rug burns on both my knees
It's been three days since the afternoon
You realized it's not my fault
    not a moment too soon
    Yesterday you'd forgiven me
And now I sit back and wait til you say you're sorry

    Chickity China the Chinese chicken
You have a drumstick and your brain stops tickin'
Watchin' X-Files with no lights on
    We're dans la maison
I hope the Smoking Man's in this one
Like Harrison Ford I'm getting frantic
    Like Sting I'm tantric
    Like Snickers, guaranteed to satisfy

Like Kurasawa I make mad films
    Okay, I don't make films
But if I did they'd have a Samurai
Gonna get a set a' better clubs
Gonna find the kind with tiny nubs
Just so my irons aren't always flying off the back-swing
Gotta get in tune with Sailor Moon
'Cause the cartoon has got the boom anime babes
That make me think the wrong thing

How can I help it if I think you're funny when you're mad
Tryin' hard not to smile though I feel bad
I'm the kind of guy who laughs at a funeral
    Can't understand what I mean?
    Well, you soon will
I have a tendency to wear my mind on my sleeve
I have a history of losing my shirt

It's been one week since you looked at me
Dropped your arms to your sides
    and said "I'm sorry"
Five days since I laughed at you and said
"You just did just what I thought you were gonna do"
Three days since the living room
We realized we're both to blame,
    but what could we do?
Yesterday you just smiled at me
Cause it'll still be two days till we say we're sorry

So, let's say there's 2 of you in it. You are both into the tent for £3.75. You are then going to spend, say, £10 or so on waterproofing, so you'll both be into it for £8.75.

Come the first morning in it, wet, you'd gladly shell out £16.25 each to be dry. Obviously, if the water repellent is dearer, or there are more of you then the sums add up slightly differently.

Friends of ours were next to us at T in the park last year in a single-skinned cheap tent. Their take on it was "never again".

Our expensive tent leaked in the single skin porch bit, where something touched the outer skin overnight. If we had been in that bit, we would have been soaked – and that's a 'proper' waterproof tent.

    Your call.

Pity they re-used a classic name in the sake of "not being retro". Not bad looking though.

Is it double skinned? If not, then you'll get wet. Even if it doesn't rain.

    What they all said, +1.

Seat down, pedals off, no mention of stabilisers.

My lad was up and scooting around after about an hour, which was 4 months before his 3rd birthday. By the time he was 3, we were doing 5 miles on quiet roads (with pedals on!).

His bike control now (18) is pretty stunning.

Find a grassy slope with a flat run-off

I used a hill with a harbour at the bottom. That taught him to brake as well!

I'm about 5' 2" and get on fine with a SC Nomad (Small, obviously!). Probably similar to your B-Line around the place, but for what it is it climbs really well and can't be faulted on the going down bits.
