hey thread hijacking is cool with me

the red is up the road from the drop off – when you hit the road, go left.

you do miss the ski jump into the massive berm, the big table, the big hip, the wooden bridge drop, then the big double, but whatever floats your boat baby

learn to build wheels yourself, or live forever in the hands of the over priced lbs

less than half of its new price, so probably £500

yeah its a confidence builder – did both the big drops on matador (7 and 8 foot) at inners on it, first run down 🙂

(first run down matador that is, not first run of the day)

coil lyriks i reckon, push upgrade later

what do you know that I don't? Is the lyrik PUSH kit finally going to become available? as far as I know it isn't atm

I assume you are talking about rear nech shifts – I wouldn't have thought a shock could cause ghost shifts. New cable required perhaps?

don't do it – I have a bag of scaffolding poles, a biscuit tin and a welder here, you can make your own.

I don't mind single pivot (the tr450 is one), but lets have a linkage driven shock at least. Put some effort in for gods sake….

as for Danny and Rowan, I'd ride any old crap if it was free, as well.

    propedal is an oxymoron

its basically for women and hairdressers

and top marks for spotting (see what I did there) that turners don't have bearings. Schoolboy error!

bionic wrists now ton, so not a problem

how are your rear wheels? standing upto the pressure?

take the shock off and you will see how the bearings are

and as far as trail bike of the year goes, according to mbr, its the lapdop, closely followed by your "special" brothers metalwork project, the orange 5.

parts off my nomad, and accomodating lbs (can you see the crosstrax sticker in that shot?), so not as expensive as you would expect.

and jones from DIRT was testing the same bike (and the mondraker summun) on the day we were at cwmcarn – so top tips a go-go 🙂

gonna get myself in trouble on this one 😉

but also remember its personal preference (i.e. your riding style\technique might affect the settings)

for instance, some riders use almost no damping and ride the spring

I use a little bit of high and pretty much zero low personally….

    yes, yes you do

low speed compression is usually used to dial out fork movement due to pedalling and fork dive under braking. Basically anything that causes slow movements of the fork.

Rocks that make the fork move quickly need high speed compression damping – and that is set at the factory (unless your fork has seperate hi\lo speed controls)

    hope that helps

I have 2 pairs and neither loose travel (actually 454 air and coil).
I did have a pair of coil lyriks that did however, but that was solved by tftuned and more ball bearings

    air or coil?

coil – the settings in the manual are a good stating point, or alternatively get TFtuned to PUSH it to your liking and don't worry about it again…..

air, ebay it and get a PUSH'd VAN R….

    buy this book:
Mastering Mountain Skills by Brian Lopes
read it, then go ride and put the things you learnt into action.
watch out for crocodiles on the trail though

its more durable than the sole on shimano shoes in my experience
just get a shoe with the wrap around sole, not the flat stick on one (in the pics above, marzocchis have a wraparound, freeriders flat)

I would say 80\20 performance wise. Everything aligns to the 80\20 rule.

llandegla isn't exactly a real test for a rear shock is it?
I could go round there on my bmx 😉

£700 for a trail centre shock? there is a touch of the car salesman about this thread…

for only £300 more, you can have all this extra. The more you spend, the more you save, the faster you will be…..
