Yeah, mine were also fine, that is until I bent a stanchion coming up short on a gap jump.
Just been picked up on the way to BOS now, expect a telling off for using j-tech and none BOS parts for servicing.
Will be interesting to see how long it takes for them to get back to me with a repair cost, their service sheet says they will service forks on the Tuesday after arrival. How very french

I am a deville owner btw, best forks ever.

My point is that most people as bwaarp says have their forks too soft with not enough rebound, adjusted so that they get full travel in the car park .
This then links to all this crap about ‘blowing through travel’ which seems to be the only review most people can give about suspension and is again usually due to being too soft, rather than anything on the damping side.
I admit however its a tradeoff between comfort and speed.

For an extreme example of this, watch Aaron Gwins forks work on a race run. I am not sure he gets full travel even at Val di Sol….

If you think you’ll “really” be able to tell the difference between BOS and <insert generic mass produced fork brand here> then go ahead and get some, otherwise, don’t believe the hype and leave BOS owners to their knowing smiles

they won’t check, pick up your number when you get to chatel.
Alternatively pinch one of your mates “one free day ticket” token (presuming they do that this year) and get a day ticket with it.
    Or buy a day ticket.
Don’t go driving anywhere, that would be against the law when all the lifts are open.

Good advice, drive at high speed from Les Gets to Chatel and back. 🙄

all that crap about having to pack everything away when you go out for a day in a camper is cobblers. Get a driveaway awning.
Oh thats not secure you say, yeah like a caravan with plastic windows is secure.
Motorhome is the way to go, and people don’t hate you as much on the road, as we all hate the chicken shed towing volvos eh?

The olympic xc course is utter shite. All the awesome biking terrain the uk has, and they go and custom build something in a field.
At least at the commwealth games they used some stuff around rivington I seem to remember.
As for all the comments about dh racing being dull and unwatchable videos because of the warner, you lot really are taking getting old hard aren’t you?

Not sure what level the folks in that test event to be are (i am sure they are really fit) but they don’t seem to be able to corner where there are roots or ride downhill switchbacks either. Sure puts Danny Harts Champery run in the shade though…..

ditch the spds altogether, you’ll be glad you did.

With proper technique pretty much any skate shoes will do, although people swear by 510s because they are super grippy, personally I like shimano am41s.

Pedals wise those superstars seem to get a good writeup, or else some dmr copies (wellgo)

as for flat on one side spd on the other, get off that fence

Proper UST tyres are designed to be used without sealant, so they are built with thicker less porous rubber.

I don’t know anything about nobby nics, but I run a LUST high roller on the back of my trail bike, and rarely pinch flat it (say once a year). They did have a period where they would split at the bead, but that only happened to me in the alps and I was bombing and also flat spotted a crossmax sx at the same time.
For the record I run 30-35 psi in the rear

Hello all, made some progress despite the weather on the mega mega white thing this week.

Thanks for the Pyrenees tips, done Les Arcs (and will be going back) and been going to the porte du soleil for the last 6 years hence the diversion….

also the gas tank is an underbody mounted LPG tank, so yes the French GPL (or local equivalent) is what I’ll use.

Just added 2 x 110Ah leisure batteries and a 100W solar panel so trying to make this as self sufficient as possible.

    whoop 🙂

No riding suggestions yet. Anyone would think stw is populated by middle aged IT managers (like wot I woz) who can’t get a pass from the trouble and strife for 12 weeks in th’alps….

blows through mid travel usually means you don’t have enough air in the shock and your rebound set waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to slow

If thats of any concern to you in a helmet is your choice. Personally its high up my list.

I guess it depends on what you ride, but ust minions are pretty draggy and heavy, I certainly wouldn’t want to pedal them uphill, they are a downhill race tyre after all. The 2.35 folding minion goes great on flows though, pity they don’t do a UST one (i.e. thicker sidewall) to go on the rear.

Perhaps its just me, but 70mm seems way too much stem even on a trail bike (yes a 70mm will make it climb better, but in your configuration the minions more than make up for any gain in any case) – 50mm will work better downhill.

    All IMO, of course.

Saint gear and ust minions seem overkill on a trail bike with 70mm stem, IMO
