Thanks everyone for your responses, luckily I haven’t been an Internet researcher as yet as some of you say it’s all doom and gloom if you believe everything on there.

Thanks for your offer of support your saying all the things that the medical staff are saying and my daughters surprised me with her pain threshold and attitude towards her situation, once we’ve got our heads around it I will take up your offer if that’s okay.

Following our stay in hospital there are a lot of kids in worse positions than us which is saddening.

    Update.
It was confirmed yesterday following a double endoscopy that she has Crohn’s, she now has a tube into her stomach and will be on fluids only for 8 weeks until her stomach settles down and then it’s just managing it.
One bit of good news the consultant said she will never feel as bad as she has over the last two weeks.

Just bought a Omega Seamaster chrono 300m from Jas at Watches of Sutton, fantastic price and great service. Would definitely recommend you check him out, if a pre-owned watch is what your after.

Can anyone recommend a site for selling whisky.
I have a bottle of Chivas Regal 21 year old Royal Salute which I was given as a present, unfortunately I don’t drink whisky so might as well sell it

Got caught doing 49 in a 30 in Carlisle a few months ago on a very early Monday morning, got pulled over i think they were looking for a breath test more than a ticket. Was polite to the two officers and ended up with a £100 fine and three points although i did have a clean license at the time.
Officer said it was to fast for a speed awareness course.

Just done a 40k loop on my road bike without any breakfast and fair to say I was well off the pace. Not really wrapped up as well, so don’t forget how nippy it is in the mornings. I will be well wrapped and some brekkie next week, but it’s great when there’s no one else on the road apart from some miserable roadies.
Costs nought to acknowledge a fellow rider.

There wont be much difference in the BTU between the two towel rails but the difference to the old radiator is what matters. Towel rails dont give off a great amount of heat compared to a radiator with a greater surface area.

We had a solidor composite door fitted, good quality door but found that the low threshold caused cold bridging resulting in condensation internally along the tresh

Try a vent Axia Lo carbon fan I fitted one and it runs all the time silently and boosts when you turn the lights on although it can work off a integral humistat or Co2 Sensor, well worth the cash

Would love to know to what happened to all the CX500, RD250LC & FS1E that used to be as common as shite when I was young you see the odd one on eBay at a ridiculous price, must be a graveyard of old bike somewhere. I can remember lusting over a Honda 400/4 cafe racer when I was 16 it looked fantastic.

    Gents,
Not going to defend my speed although it was on an open road with no other traffic about, the speed statement was to see if it would help with the diagnostics I.e very hot engine and use of a dose of redex
Looks like it stirred the usual bickering which we all enjoy on this forum with my driving now in the same class as the A8 driver in another post.
Cheers for the comments with some technical advice.

    Mr Mojo,
I,m in the same business, who do you work for, I’m currently with Crown House Technologies. Work seems to be picking up judging by the amount of agencies on the phone every other day.

Seems to have his house training now sorted but second night in cage he just howled and howled, eventually after a god 15 minutes had to go downstairs and let him out, I’m not sure if a cage has been used in the past as a punishment instead of a home.
Going to buy a bed for him today and a bigger one for our other Bedlington as they seem happy to sleep together now.

Thank god I work away through the week so they wife and daughter will have all the trials and tribulations until next Friday afternoon

Bought a cage last night and Buddy had his 1st night in it, after a minute of barking he never made a sound all night, he seems to of really settled now.
Don,t want him sleeping in a cage forever so what’s the next step?

Thanks for the advice, spoke to the previous owner again this morning and discussed his accidents, he had been kept in a cage at night and never soiled on the floor, so i think a cage is the answer so he’s back to his old enviroment to start with.

I too often wee in strange enviroments especially after a lads weekend away

Took daughter to Climb Newcastle last night for a Foundation Session, instructor was great and we thoroughly enjoyed the night and stayed for about three hours.
We are now members of both centres in Newcastle so we can do top rope and bouldering.

Any advice on increasing finger and wrist strength, fingers are really sore this morning although time spent bouldering will be part of the reason.

The guys and girls last night were all very pleasant so I shouldn’t judge on one experience.

Andyfla I will send you an email through the week if that’s okay for some more advice. Can definitely see my biking improving after this

    Hi
If its the top valve it’s the pressure reducing valve if its the bottom valve it’s the safety valve

    Hi,
Been twice now to Newcastle Climbing Centre once for the Taster and just on Friday to do some bouldering as i need to pass a test for Belaying. It was quite busy and to be fair quite intimidating. I’m trying to get my daughter to join one of the kids clubs but she seems reluctant to for some reason.
Is climbing a bit snobby or are we just the new kids on the block?
Any advice on strengthening my arm/wrists to make it easier?

When we first tried it in Ambelside i reviewed it on Tripadvisor, and just received an email saying we have won a free personal lesson for up to four people so not a bad start to our climbing

What is ugly parent syndrome, is it curable ?

Many thanks for all your comments, never thought I was a pushy parent but possibly are, the puberty thing is lurking around the corner as well, think I will just back off and let her make her own mind up. 5 days training and conditioning at home is probably to much but she seems to actually enjoy it.
She has been down the ice skating route and was getting quite good but seemed to loose interest, but I may be an option to take her back possibly with some of her friends to take her mind off things.
She’s a young woman and none of us men can claim to understand women, if we could life would be so much simpler.

Thank you al, for your responses it’s being thought provoking.

Stop being a pushy parent maybe?

Jamie, i’m anything but a pushy parent, she goes to gymnastics 5 days a week out of her own choice, only a concerned one.
