but here in Norway I pay a little over 200 quid a month for full time Nursery for my little one. The state covers most of the cost in part to encourage both parents to work. But that’s what you get for paying a fairly high income tax on salaries

I spent many years in academia and research/ lecturing. I eventually got totally pee’d off with all the pressure and bull that has been mentioned above. I moved to industry and now work half the time I did for much more than twice the pay

I have the most basic of the Nespresso machines – maybe about 80 GBP a year ago or so

Makes very acceptable coffee and I like it a lot

I dont consider 30p a brew to be expensive, compared to a couple of quid in the cafe

but like many others, I’m a crusty old sod who likes to fondle the paper and I really struggle to focus when trying to read digital magazines. Again in part because I stare at a sodding pc all day long at work. And the print version goes to my mountain cabin with me
