I got really sick of this place and have had a break for 6 months and this is the first and will be the last time I post.

Most of you on here are clearly leftist liberals and obsessed about being pc. Some people are more traditional or conservative socially and should be allowed their opinion. This leftist (dare I say neo-marxist) attitude to identity politics and the vitriol that you throw at anyone who doesnt share your very narrow views is so disappointing.

I’m out of here. I have no desire to share anymore of my time with a forum so up its own ass that it can’t accept that people have other views to you

After spending many hours on this site over many years and subscribing to the mag I need a break.

My subscription is up and I’m not renewing. This site has been so unpleasant these last 2 months and it’s a chore using it. I don’t use facebook and maybe that’s where STW action is nowadays (?). To be honest the communication from STW Towers has been shockingly poor and I feel sorry for the Mods but this whole episode has been a text book exercise is doing something really badly.

I’m staying away from now. I’ll look in in 6 months and if this place is still around and feels welcoming then I’ll come back. But right now it’s a complete bag of shite

as a comparison I use the local magazine site here in Norway (Terrengsykkel) – Im not even going to try and make a link to it with the state this site is in. However, this is a fairly small magazine with a limited audience and the site is basic – but seems to work fine. And the forum, even without logging in on a phone, doesnt appear to be too tedious and in your face awful adverts everywhere. Just comparing

so the opt out for adverts has gone – or as you say its default – but there is no statement for this on the site

so in effect there is now no opt out for adverts and when the customers complain about the stealth adverts appearing on the right hand side of the screen we can be ignored, well because there is no opt out of adverts anymore

hence the option for STW to put in stealth adverts on the forum front page

yeah but Cougar you aren’t paying for the BBC website with a mag subscription or a magic letter P that is supposed to get rid of all the adverts

maybe STW will bring a tiered subscription – you know like Platinum P and then all that stealth advert shite on the right will be gone but if you only have Gold P then tough

I dont spend any time reading the mag anymore and I wont be bothering paying for P or haunting this place much longer

Just need to find another place to waste a bit time in that has a slightly better user experience
