Used one of those Stans Darts the other week – worked well and has kept pressure – will just leave it in now. You leave the tail hanging out and it just gets worn away to the point where its then difficult to spot which bit it fixed. Magical !

Yep love mine (Vir Fortis / light wheels / tubeless JJ 4.0’s) – rolls along surprisingly easy – brilliant for those rubbly tracks – just floats over them – tis superb.

Thanks for reply – I’d previously asked Alpkit if they could sell me a v4 fork but they’re all allocated to builds – I’m kinda thinking I might as well just buy a new frameset allowing me to use the old frame as a project bike for my son.

Well for me they’re all about exploring tracks and bridleways – mainly from home – kinda exploring really – and being able to link bits together via road / lanes. I’m certainly back to where I started late 80’s with mtb’ing – “wild but mild” in now my kinda thing – and I love it.

Yep – totally agree – I’ll be well dead by the time we in England get some kind of RTR access – so I’m happy riding non honey pot footpaths – don’t break rule #1, use a bell, stop or at least slow down for walkers and be polite – never have an issue.

Had to get rid of my Mazda 6 petrol when it got side swiped – it was at 170k – apart from battery change and an a/c clutch it was trouble free. Now have another Mazda 6 petrol and that’s now at 130k trouble free miles :)

Sorted – got through to a Virgin call centre operator and have signed up for 18month contract at 26 per month. Result. Once again thanks for advice.

I’ve um’d and ar’d and basically dicked around for the last month trying to decide on what to replace my current gravel bike (Camino v2) with – heart says ISO (lovely looking imo, steel, unique) but my head says Bokeh (more suited to most of my rides especially from the door routes – think I’ll go with that with 700c / 650b wheelsets. Would love to own the ISO as well though :)

ta for all the replies above – I’ll initially go and try and speak to someone at Virgin – if I can get a discount I’ll stick with them :)

I have Spyres on my SS CX bike – they’re easy to set up and nice and smooth – not that powerful though, and by that I reckon the Ultegra rim brakes on my road bike are way better

I have the redshift on the gravel bike and really like it – doesn’t take any chatter out but good for those little drop offs – overpriced though to be fair

I have the Elemnt which is great for following a breadcrumb trail across middle of nowhere – but for road biking I just use my moby running Kamoot for audible turn by turn nav , tis superb.

Did Burma road and Loch Eanaich last Aug on the fat bike – I really liked those routes – right in the “wild but mild” category.

I found a very nice GPS device couple of years ago in North Wales.

Owner had marked home location – lovely small village in middle of nowhere – but difficult to narrow down to which house in a little street of cottages.

Saw it was near a local church so phoned them up and said “anyone in that road keen outdoors kinda person who’s been to Wales and lost something” – priest said yes they thought who it could be and inquired and yes they had lost GPS so I posted out and got a nice Cotswold voucher in return :)

The whisky shops love it when you ask if they’ve heard of a Glen Campbell or a Glen Miller and you play Wichita Lineman or In the Mood on your phone

Superb – that made me laugh :)

Similar to what @nuke says – G7 power running OS maps on a quad lock – masses of battery power – only small issue is you have to keep looking down if you’re following a non obvious path – I also use a Wahoo which just gives you a simple breadcrumb but with audio warnings if you’re straying offline. For road rides I use the G7 running Kamoot for super nice turn by turn nav
