Just moved to a purgatory 2.3 control and am loving it. This things just hangs on in there.

I ride Stanmer in Brighton, damp, slippy, rooty – Purgatory takes it all in it’s stride.

    £30.00 new – what’s not to like.

for pure grip the purgatory gets the nod, I think for overall riding, up / down / around mud x is better.

The 2.3 I now have on the front wheel makes the bike feel a little front heavy.

That said it grips like a drunk to his pint.

Grand Designs is beginning to make me feel quite sick. People utterly obsessed with having the best this or the best that to put on their projects driven my marketing hype and the new best thing. Polished concrete, the latest ceramics …….hang on!

for a first full suss camber all the way, no brainer!

not a spesh fan as such but if i was in the market described that would be the go to bike, assuming you want an all round trail bike.

    great second hand prices too.

Sorry to hear about your mate. Hope he gets well soon.

It’s also a shame it ruined your day.

Sounds like he will come back ok from what you say.

On the whole I think (hope) this is an exception to the rule.

There certainly was some fast riding going on.

Of all the places on the course this seems one of the less likely / unlucky spot to have a collision.

All the best with the recovery.

eight laps is not average by anyone’s standards.

You should be proud of that.

n.b. I’m the only one who thinks this year was easier than last – i just felt that on the ups apart from the really steep ones you could recover a little.

Or it could be my new (to me) niner air nine on the other hand. Went like a dream. For that kind of riding the bigger wheels really do help.

    Don’t tell Giant!

Niner Air Nine was perfect as was my pace for my goals.

Wish I had gone out one more time to get seven laps and beat TimP.

Next year i hope i get a good run withjout illness and push a little harder and feel a little lighter.

TimP – you are gonna suffer on your single speed contraption. Shame I will be too far ahead to see it

Almost worth hanging onto your (small)wheel for the first lap. In fact I think I will.

Try and get the cranks to stay on though will you!

Rubena Kratos 2.25 front and rear for me.

Got them with the bike and actually really like them.

Had never heard of them before.

Something skinny on the back would be better.

    1×10 for me.

    hi,

most people in our group have a big plastic box (with name on it) which we leave by our van and tent thing next to the course. Luckily we have been right on the course each year (we get there early). This is about a 100 yards after the start zone. basically we cycle right past it, step of the course and pick up what we need and then go again – if we can be bothered after the first lap :-)

The transition area itself is really quite busy with lots of spectators and riders so its not the obvious place to leave your stuff.

You are brighton mtb right. You can leave your box with ours and you should be good.

give me a ring if you want 07813947674 if you are happy with that.
