I think I have the same issue on the yeti.

I bought one and wanted to love it but i hated it – the drag was far more than on a standard bike – ok it was new 2000 miles etc etc but it really felt bad – like pulling a sack of potatoes. Just don’t get it!

    Gave up in the end.

Now here’s the thing – I run 1×10 now (SLX) which costs me about about £50.00 to change over once a year (cassette, chain, front ring). Runs perfectly in the mud, great efficiency, no problem at all and works much better.

    No brainer!

Well Easter is gone without too much chocolate carnage.

Good ride on Sunday around Stanmer with a sharp shower transitioning the trails from excellent to scary.

I guess this is the time when I must kick my arse into gear and imagine being on the start line having not done the necessary work – not an option.

N.b. do I need a Salsa Swordfish or not?

Am I the only person interested in Liam Killeen.

Just seems to have dropped off the grid since the Olympics.

I know he wasn’t enduro / 27.5 / fat bike / fat thin chain etc.

But nevertheless he was a great rider.

    cheers DC.

Sunday morning rides definitely gone up a notch of late. less breaks and fast up and down. Long way home to boost miles and climbing.

nb how does it pedal, would like a similar bike but maybe 120 up front. dont need 140 mm in Brighton. Looks epic though.

This is a very tight space, and you will be joining many others with the same idea. I think you would have to go in quite big to get any return and still find yourself competing against the on line giants discounting to the same levels as you. So where’s the profit and margins in the long term?

    Go for it;-)

Maybe, I suspect he will be on the rollers if he cant get out. Just need to sort out his ringer brothers!

Anyone out for Brighton MTB tonight.

The sun is out in Brighton so hopefully those trails will dry out a little.

These last, muddy, few weeks really have been a pain in the behind.

Surprised myself yesterday by changing over my rear cassette without having a major temper tantrum – it’s not all bad.

Now just to shift this pesky cold so I can get back on it!

As Paceman knows I’m an (armchair) fan of CX and in the right hands I think you could do it. I suspect you would get one hell of a beating though. I guess there must be a reason no one else has done it – yet.

    [Dropper post in Stanmer!!]

Yeah, not so much for the downs though it can help, just as much for off camber muddy corners and moving around on the bike. Certainly a plus in darkest muddy winter.

60% of BMTB on droppers last night.
