Love rigid. Great for local trails. Lose out to the suspension bikes at times but not much.

Dump the Contin pronto. Suggest purgatory or smorgasbord on the rear.

Singular swift, solaris, fortitude (2nd hand – excellent), kona unit, sanderson, surly etc etc.

I would go steel every time on a rigid bike for what it’s worth.

Guess it depends on your starting point.

I can tell you compared to a purgatory it’s draggy.

Take a look at singular. The swift looks so good you just know it’s going to be good. Reviews are ace. Genesis high latitude, comic solaria etc etc.

Lets continue this discussion once you have tried them on the rear!

Super tacky for sale – hardly used BTW! ;-)

CM debut as a rear. Not good. Very draggy. Was the trail extreme. Would the endure have been better. I think the purgatory is going back on.

    Any thoughts?

Hoping it fits on my fortitude out back. Should do.

I struggled terribly with stand rims. Getting a purgatory on was nearly impossible.

    Anyone else had this?

I bought a rigid SS 29er because I was spending a fortune on forks, broken frames (a ham yeti), drive trains etc etc.

Spent nothing since I got my new bike.

Mountain biking all the way though!

    Fat bikes, 650b all fads.

What you need is a rigid 29er.

    That’s where the action is.

Fortitude SS rigid. Chunky monkey up front (29″).

No going back for me unless the knees pack in.

Great ride, fun and minimal hassle.

Go used. 500.00 for all the bike you will ever need. Why pay New prices?

    Just look at eBay.

Would a wheel upgrade make sense on the fortitude? It’s great but does feel a bit sluggish on the ups!

This bike runs amazingly with a chunky monkey up front extra tacky version!
