He used to cycle passed the CycleSurgery on Procter St in London every day on his way to Parliament and used to get a decent amount of abuse from the guys upstairs.

No way would I want a 29er for the kind of fun riding a proper hardcore hardtail is intended for. Without wanting to start another wheelsize debate but every 29er I have tried has been far from fun. Probably very good for pure speed on xc type stuff but far from fun when it gets tight twisty and jumpy.

My Alpine Five is the most fun bike I’ve ever owned. It certainly has dealt with twisty and jumpy fine, including the Megavalanche last year.

I won’t mention what the guys on G+ think of you but to put it lightly they hate you

I was on the lookout for some last week. The best deals I found were Superstar hubs on Stans Arch EX rims for £160, or Mavic Crossroc WTS at CRC, down to £190 from. £360ish. You’d need an adaptor for the front Crossroc to reduce it to 15mm though.

Waiting for UPS here to delivery a shiny new cassette, chain and chainring so I can ride tomorrow. My email said it will be delivered 3rd May but if I register on the UPS website I can get an estimated time of delivery. I did this and was told it will be delivered by the end of the day, not really the narrow time slot I was hoping for to be honest!

I might be there Friday afternoon Goldigger if you want some company.

At my interview I asked if we could bring games in on a friday afternoon, the boss said yes, he honoured my request and to this day I am the most popular bloke in the company, I get loads of xmas cards and easter eggs.

Really? Certainly on the Liverpool forums most fans are pretty realistic about our current situation and future prospects. I don’t recall seeing one “next year is our year” post at all. In fact with Leicester’s incredible performance this year, Spurs and West Ham building the foundations for success and Man City bringing in Guardiola I think it will be harder than ever to consistently finish in the Top Four, let alone win the league. Utd are 5 points ahead of us and we have a game in hand. I’d say both clubs are in a pretty similar situation.

46 here & got a Mongoose Legion L100 in January… First time I’ve been on a little bike in 20 years & I’m loving it (bike was a bargain too: under £250 for full cro-mo frame, forks & bars, 3 piece cranks etc)… Any other old fools in Cumbria? I want to try the new indoor skate park in Barrow, but haven’t had the guts to go by myself yet

I have had the Worldpay confirmation, but nothing confirming my entry. The facebook update from Dyfi Events leads me to believe this will be resolved in the next 24 hours, so I’m not overly concerned.

Well, I have two World Pay confirmations, but only one rider confirmation. The old way was more efficient!

Another vote for Boisdale of Belgravia here. I don’t think the the above recommendation of the Pollen St Social is in budget, but it’s sister the Social Eating House in Soho should about be. I was there Friday and it’s very good.

Edit: Atlaz recommendation of the Typing Room is a good one too, the Town Hall Hotel that hosts the Typing Room is pretty cool and I believe the cocktail bar is good.

Oh, and don’t miss the last coach because you thought you had time to fit in one last beer in Allemont, its a €70 taxi ride back up the hill. I am speaking with experience! 😀

We are staying at Chalet Bruyere, which is about halfway between the sports centre where you sign on, and the top lift in ADH, its cheapish and happens to be conveniently located next to a decent bar.

I think staying in ADH is best, it certainly makes the early start for qualifying easier, and signing on etc…

There are pretty regular coaches with bike trailers from Allemont to Oz, then you can get the lift up to (I think) Chavannus and its a five minute ride back down to ADH (along the quali course).

I didn’t drive my van from arriving until leaving.

I love Future Islands. Seasons was great.

I had a quick and very wet blast around Llandegla, loved it though as it was the first time on the trail bike since Nov 11th.

Nice bike, someone was riding similar Monday.

I received a special towel for drying my back from my inlaws. I have always found the standard towel (of which we have an abundance) to perform the task perfectly well, especially as they bought me a bottle green ‘normal’ only a year ago.

My wife opened an envelope with 500 quid in it from them as her gift. Our daughters received a pair of gloves each.

I got a plastic spatula from them the year before.

One of my employees decided to show a few of the team dirty photographs of his ex girlfriend. His ex happens to be our Office Manager. He had completely forgotten doing it until I reminded him yesterday too, and is now bribing various members of the team for their silence.
