Sorry to hear that Verbboy. Unfortunately I broke two bones in my ankle yesterday in the qualis, and my experience with Dogtag mirrors yours exactly. I had to phone and chase 5 times yesterday, and was given conflicting information regarding my insurance. I’ve sorted myself out now, and I am flying home later today. I wouldn’t use or recommend Dogtag to anyone.

As I said, Finland is not without its issues, some of those very same issues I see increasing In the UK after the referendum. The underlying message that my wife, and many of my friends have received through this campaign is that they are not wanted here, and they should go home. My wife naturally wants to be where she is wanted, and that happens to be her country of birth, Finland.

I’m really sorry to hear about the abuse your wife received in Finland, it’s abhorrent and no one should have to experience it. That very same thing has been happening in the UK to immigrants over the last few days.

There is Ned, but around Helsinki I don’t think there is a huge amount. Where we are now I can be on the trails in 30 mins. Not sure I could do that living in Helsinki.

From a business perspective Germany is more appropriate, though my 7 year old wants to move to Finland where she has family. The saddest thing is the decision to leave the UK feels like its been made by other people, and I’m not sure I can ever forgive my country for that.

Me, either Germany or Finland. My Finnish wife doesn’t feel particularly welcome in this country after a pretty ugly campaign. I am a partner in a business that had a long term plan of opening a German office, so the referendum result may well accelerate that process, and my wife had a masters in German.

She would also be keen to return to Finland, but I don’t think I could, to all intents and purposes give up mountain biking. Finland also has its own issues with far right nationalism.

Eh, I think it was €80 IIRC. He also grumbled for the entire 45 minutes about having our dusty bikes in his taxi. As we were leaving some New Zealanders landed in Allemont who had also missed the last bus, we managed to fit one into our taxi so he could get back up the Alpe and pick up their van. The taxi driver wanted to charge us an additional €20 to take him with us.

I think we picked up our plates when we picked up our lift pass on the Wednesday morning from the sports centre. We literally parked up on arrival after our drive from the UK, picked up our passes and were riding 30 mins later.

We should organise a beer in AdH, we are staying above Sphere bar on the Place Jean Moulin.

I’m getting excited now.

Don’t miss the last bus up to Oz from Allemont. A taxi from Allemont to AdH is very pricy!

I have travel insurance included with my bank account, I just rang them to find out if I would be covered, they say that downhill mountain biking is only covered for level 1 and level 2 trails, can anyone tell me what a level 1 or 2 trail would be?

I can’t offer any insight on what level 1 & 2 trails are, however I relied on my bank travel insurance a good few years ago for a weekend trip to Morzine. I came off and tore a nice big hole in my arm which according to a clinic on Morzine meant I could lose feeling/movement in my arm if not treated properly. My bank insurance refused the advice of the clinic, which was to send me to a specialist and told me I would be liable for the €7k bill if I went ahead and they knocked back the claim, which sounded likely. I ended up missing the opportunity to get it stitched and spent 6 months with an open wound needing constant cleaning and cauterisation in the UK. I have a pretty cool scar now.

Its your call if you’d rather save the 40 or so quid.

Look all this concern is all fine and well but what we all want to REALLY know is
1) who had the go pro mount
2) when is it going online

Greg is 4th overall and Ratboy is 6th overall in the standings currently. I don’t think they have to worry too much.

I ran Michelin Wild Rock’r 2 tyres for last years Mega and tore a hole in the sidewall on the top section after the glacier. Wild Rock’rs are supposed to be at the burly end of tyre construction but the puncture ruined my race run, I wouldn’t hesitate in choosing dual plys for this year.

Its not like the kids are suddenly going to have a Damascus moment and clear up all her shit, and their own forever more because of what she did, is it. More likely the litter will blow around in the wind to other areas of the park, and kids will walk through the dog eggs and spread it all over the grass and ramp. It will be up to some poor council workers to sort her mess out, after making the park a less pleasant place to be for a while.

I have the Evoc pack and will be using it for the Mega again this year. I do feel more secure riding in it but find it overkill for the UK.
