Hi Sharkattack, if you do make your way towards Drovers Cycles or anywhere past Chester I’d be happy to provide a roof for the night, a warm meal and come cash for petrol/insurance, just let me know if I can be of help.

Maybe you’re just no good at negotiation. My ebay rating is only 607, not sure if that’s a lot or not. Most of what I’ve bought and sold in the last year or two has been after messaging, swapping phone numbers and selling via paypal/email instead. It works very well, that’s a fact based on my experiences. If you haven’t tried it you should.

Better sale prices include the 10% ebay fee of course. I’d rather sell something at 90% and keep ebay’s cut in the buyer’s pocket.

So you are happy to use eBay’s platform to promote your goods, but you don’t want to pay them what they are owed when you find a buyer they connected you with? Thats just a shitty thing to do, regardless of the size of eBay.

Mr D.Side I’m not sure how old you are but some of us are an age where decent music on the radio was limited to an hour in the evenings.
To have a radio station like 6 that broadcasts fantastic music all day with amazing sound quality ( radio1 used to be am only) is a miracle.
It’s too precious to have it ruined by someone from the bad old days.
Sure, other stations are available but I don’t want to listen exclusively to any genre of music all day. 6 mixes it up and I am eternally grateful it exists.

Patronising much? 😀 Keaveny has got decent taste in music though, he plays some cracking tunes, I just don’t get the vitriol for him.

Didn’t used to like his show so much, like it now. Don’t get how people can get so worked up by him, life is too short to get angry at someone on the radio.

The laws that Alpin has fallen foul of are there to protect you, me, your families, kids, wives etc from whacked-out potheads driving round in a drug-induced daze!

I just cancelled my BC membership … waste of money.

Really? I have saved my membership fee several times over in discounts. I guess it depends what you use it for.

That mawdach place is nice, I had a great steak there.
Have a look at the cross foxes too.

I stayed at the Cross Foxes a couple of weeks ago, the suites are nice rooms, I wish we hadn’t had the kids with us! They do an offer which includes a room and special tasting menu, we didn’t take it because we were with tthe kids but it seemed good value.

I hope all injured, especially those with more serious injuries are ok.

I too hope the organisers don’t feel compelled to make the stages a little less extreme. I do wonder if the Ard Rock is a victim of its own success, and is attracting riders without the requisite skills to stay safe. Lots of riders seem to be discussing getting caught up behind people walking technical parts of the stages, and the amount of injuries seems high.

Perhaps the organisers should think about filtering race entries by requiring previous race results from a recognised series such as PMBA to enter the race proper, otherwise as a first year entrant you have to ride the sportive.

I’ve never done the Ard Rock as there always seems to be a date clash with something else, but I really want to give it a go next year.

They do Sam Hill signature pedals, stem, bars, seatpost & saddle. Don’t think the man himself uses carbon bars, so may not want his name on a set.

I was suggesting making more of the signature series for AM/Enduro. The saddles, stem and seat post (in as much as it is not a dropper) are not really applicable to trail riding and the bars are a little on the narrow side (for some people).

Sam rode carbon bars in the EWS at least http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/13707718/

Anyway, this is his fourth year with Nukeproof/CRC, so I wonder if his contract might be up this year anyway. Can they afford him now he’s a top enduro racer AND Sam Hill?

This could be the sticking point, but surely his value has decreased based on performances in WC since CRC signed him from Specialized.

I would imagine that Nukeproof will be very keen for him to make the switch next year. If he can keep getting EWS podiums then that can sell them a whole lotta enduro bikes. Doubt he’s selling them many DH bikes right now.

This is I think where CRC/Nukeproof could really capitalise. Sam Hill is still very marketable and when he signed to CRC, Enduro was a burgeoning discipline which was still taking shape, the EWS is only three years old now. I bet Mega’s outsell Pulses by a huge margin nowadays, and Nukeproof really should make more of the Sam Hill range, why no Sam Hill carbon bars, lighter stem etc..

I’d let Sam concentrate on Enduro, sell boatloads of Nukeproof Mega’s (SH was a big part in me buying my Mega Team last week) and still ride World Cups where possible much in the role Peaty has has within Syndicate for the last couple of years, as a mentor and ambassador.

These are sold as front and rear pairs.
    All alloy construction
    85cm and 150 cables

Is that description even for the R1X? The rest of the blurb refers to the Formula C1 brake.

Fantastic run by Hart, I really thought Gwin had MSA wrapped up.

My Redbull app worked fine on iPad and Apple TV, I couldn’t get on via the website on my laptop though. I guess the silver lining with the access issues is it demonstrates how popular the Redbull coverage is.

Great to see Elliott Heap progressing leaps and bounds in the juniors, another podium for third today.

It’s amazing when you consider he only started riding about three years ago!

Nope, Peaty is not riding rather surprisingly, I thought he’d want a final hurrah at MSA.

Gwin is looking on another level again. There is a qualifying highlights video on Pinkbike and he just looks so much more composed than everyone else over the rough stuff.

Shame about Tahnee, she was the only female rider pushing Rachel in qualifying but it doesn’t matter how fast you can ride if you can’t keep it rubber side down.

I’m looking forward to the race later, it should be a belter.

I had ankle surgery 10 days ago after breaking my tibia and fibula at the Maegavalandhe on 8th July. I’ve another 4 or so weeks in a cast if it all heals the way it should before it comes off in September. I cam still work, but I’m learning German whilst I am lying on the sofa on evenings and weekends.

I never want to go through this agin but when you consider what happened to Jack Sims in the Alps and his brilliant attitude towards his life changing injuries, I’m merely inconvenienced for a while.

9 days dry here, but over the previous fews weeks I had cut down from 4/5 days a week to 1/2. I’m nursing a broken ankle and don’t want to pile on weight whilst not being able to exercise, but a break from booze has been a long time coming and I feel really good, apart from the broken ankle.

The 135mm rear and 73mm bb make me a frame swap challenging, plus adding in costs like new cables, headsets etc..

I’d sell the Status and get a new (used) bike. There are some real 26″ bargains about. I picked up a 3yr old Mondraker Summum in excellent condition recently for a grand.

My brother got one of those spring loaded guns that fires suckered darts for his (IIRC) 6th birthday. I decided it was much more fun to stick two suckered darts together to create a pointy end and I called my brothers name as I released the trigger. He turned around, took the pointy arrow directly to the eye and we had to take him to hospital on his birthday for emergency treatment. He spent weeks walking around in an eye patch and even my assertions that he looked like a pirate didn’t really lift his mood.

A few years later he pushed me down the stairs mid argument and I ended up in hospital with concussion, so I think we’re equal. We are to this day, very good friends and close brothers.

Hey Verbboy. I broke my tib and fib too. I’m going in for what sounds like a similar op on Monday, I’ll ask about the benefits of removal/non-removal.

We should get together for a Mega – Ride of the Fallen pootle when we are back on our feet 😉
