"What happens if a baby needs feeding, and they stop at the lay-by and see that?"

But it would be OK for them to see a bunch of middle age, overweight dogging enthusiasts getting their end away??!!

You are hardly likely to offend anyone by wearing a Young Boys replica shirt, even if you are faster than the average 'bloaty mincer'.

But we digress, it is true that Henley seems to be the chav uniform Du Jour, certainly around these parts. Not a judgement, just an observation.

I wear footie shirts to ride in. Lightweight and fast-wicking. Just the thing for overtaking mincers who buy ridiculously overpriced bags up hills. Whilst smoking a cig…

Yes, much more stylish than Endura or Pearl Izumi. they also retail at about the same as an entry level cycle specific top as well.

We've got one on an 04 plate, a 2.2 TID. Nice to drive but not quite as well finished as a 3 Series or C Class inside.

It is a ProFlex, just not a 957. I think it is a 955 with alu swing arm.

Ours costs about £2k and £800 of that was my wifes wedding dress! We had a church wedding followed by a reception in a local gastro pub, where we requested guests to pay for their own meal. I bought drinks for everyone for the toasts and we just give the pub an iPod with a playlist set up for the music through the PA. We combined the wedding with our daughters christening and couldn't have afforded it without guests paying their way. No one was offended and looking back I wouldn't change the way we did things.

    LOL @ Terrahawk.

Personally, I would miss my little girl far too much. Skype and a phone call are all well and fine but you can't get a hug or kiss online (I never, ever thought I would such slushy nonsense before becoming a father) but it does sound like a once in a lifetime opportunity, so good luck if you choose that path.

Look at some of the shenanigans over the past couple of years – being forced to buy Gary Barry against his wishes, whilst being denied funds to buy adequate midfield cover; having to sell Alonso to fund vital purchases at the back and additional strikers like Aquilani… I doubt there's another manager in the world that could have made a success out of that situation.

Eh? We didn't buy Barry and Aquilani is no striker!

My In-Laws live in Rovaniemi so I can give some advice. Boblo may have been through in Summer and found it a little tacky, but that is missing the point somewhat as you are asking about it as a winter destination. Its worth a trip to 'Santa's Village' if you are in the area, but it is no more than a couple of hours entertainment including the obligatory reindeer or dog sled ride. You can also hire snow mobiles if the kids are a little older. Its pretty cool for the kids being able to send postcards from the post office in the village as well, which they can stamp themselves with the Arctic Circle watermark. If you are lucky there is a good chance you will see the Northern Lights, which are truly beautiful.

In terms of skiing, Rovaniemi and the surrounding area is ok for the odd day but is too far south to get proper elevation. The local resort is also notorious for only having 50% of its 6 (iirc) runs open. Pretty boring after an hour or two as the longest is about 600 metres long! You need to travel a couple of hours further north to get to the decent resorts really, but beware they can get very cold!

FWIW I would recommend a trip to Helsinki for a few days, then take a flight up to Rovaniemi for a couple of days which would be ample time. The village could be described as a 'little tacky' but to be honest its pretty hard to make something like that anything but a little tacky.

Ok looking good nearly got the accommodation booked so that's the main thing which is in Morzine. I would like to know about spares and if they are available and how expensive they are. Another thing is about the routes, are all the routes DH stuff with jumps or are the red runs more Am/XC friendly?

Morzine has loads of none DH riding available. I took my Prince Albert last year (albeit with 150mm fork) and never felt under biked (I will take my full suss when I go back though).

Most spares are readily available in town but you will pay a premium for them, take as many as you practically can.

And definitely ride Super Morzine, muchos fun.

Dont even get me started on the mobility/DLA scheme! A family member is on this his first car was a Focus now its a Volvo – a new car every 2 years, free services, all you have to pay for is fuel and the person on it doesn't even drive it! I have to bite my lip every time i see him and he starts boasting about it – grrr!

Careful. Lots of people deserve and need help from the scheme, it certainly helped my dad when he was having to make 200 mile round trips to visit his terminally ill wife in hospital. Anything like this will be open to abuse and if you stopped the motability scheme (which has charity status anyway) the minority that abuse the scheme would just abuse something else. People are far too quick to condemn something because a friend of a friends neighbour is using it unfairly. Try looking at it through the eyes of the needy instead of through the eyes of a Daily Mail journalist.

The main issue will be any mud flinging will be discredited as by his own admission, he has been lying for the last 8 years. I bet Weightweenies and the Cycling News forum are quiet this morning, they seem to be the usual domain of the Landis is innocent brigade.

Maybe, it's enough to put me off the brand.

I lost confidence in their brand after they told me the reason for my brand new forks seizing on their second ride was due to a lack of servicing! This was after no more than five hours of riding. Not a very customer friendly company in my opinion, certainly not compared to the likes of Hope.

They already do by supplying the bikes to the team, which is a huge financial commitment. They can't afford to then spend additional millions on being the principal sponsor, especially as it would generate very little additional revenue.

Am thinking of getting a helmet camera,as i ride a road bike sometimes, ive had a few misses with cars coming a bit to close and being abusive,so thought id film my travels, want one thats penlght sized, also wear a rucksack so a recorder is no problem.

but i dont believe in wasting that amount of money on a meal when there are people sleeping on the street, and going hungry

So food is a luxury but a helmet cam isn't? 🙄

I'm sorry, but apart from a couple of rumours by forum members who despite being asked refuse to elaborate on their comments, what evidence has anyone got that Kaesae is handling stolen goods? He seems to be getting a fair amount of stick on here, and I thinks it is mainly down to his face not fitting with the forum clique. I' d suggest that unless anyone has evidence of Kaesae breaking the law the criticism should focus on his rambling (and frequently hilarious) posts.

I don't understand why one of their directors would be getting involved, surely it wouldn't need to be escalated to that level for a simple wheel true (or replace) are you sure there is not a little more to the story?

The problem for a lot of punters, me included is I fail to see how the service we receive can get any worse than it has been for years now, so I couldn't care less about your conditions. The wildcat strikes happening now have cost me £50 as my claim for my phone rebate didn't get to T-mobile until after the deadline, and my dads birthday card and prezzie arrived nearly a week later than it should have done. I was stood behind a woman in the post office yesterday who's sister had died and the majority of condolance cards and messages had arrived a week after the funeral. In all honesty would you feel sympathy for Royal Mail workers if you were her?
Twice this month I have come home from work to find packages on my doorstep in clear view of the street because the postie couldn't be bothered filling out a card and putting it through the letter box. I'm constantly cleaning red elastic bands out of the garden you fail to take with you and the gate is never closed like it was when you came through it. It doesn't happen anymore but we used to get cards through the door saying there was no-one in to receive a parcel whe my wife was at home on maternity leave, resulting in a trek to the local sorting office for a heavily pregant women.
I don't think it's the organisation thats the problem but a significant amount of Royal Mail workers attitude to the job. Whe you pay us some respect we may care whether you keep your job or not. I'd have privatised the service years ago.
