I’m really looking forward to reading Charlie’s book. Its pretty cool that we have Charlie posting on the forum, he was there at the start with a bunch of mates who came to shape the sport we all know and love. That I’m really thankful to him for.

As an aside I dropped Charlie an email a couple of years ago about going on a ride, I was in San Francisco and hoped he could take me out. He replied saying no problem. Unfortunately my flight was severely delayed and I didn’t make it, I’m still gutted about that. I hope the invitation was an open one.

The rings have been selling really well, I weighed mine against the Raceface ring I took off and it was a good bit lighter, there are more pictures and specs on our Facebook page.

I’ll be running tubeless and it’s the EXO casing in the Ikon. I would run HR front, Ardent Rear but the Ardent is 2.4 and the HR a 2.3 and there is a noticeable difference in size.

What are the conditions like at the moment? Will I regret taking off my High Rollers for an Ardent and Ikon combo?

What a great event, I was offered a spare.place on Saturday evening by a mate and I’m really glad I took it, I think it will be an annual event for me from now on. I’m pretty sure towards the end its Llandegla, there are the berms from parallel universe in there and the bridge jump on the freeride course.

I’d say the Finns are wary of the Russians based on their volatile history with the country, and would certainly be concerned over the repercussions of any potential invasion, as would any nation.

To say the Finns are in fear of the Russians is inaccurate though, certainly amongst my family and Finnish friends their is no fear of Russia. There is a healthy degree of dislike though!

Really good fun. I got up there late due to family commitments and had to race the course blind. Took a big spill on stage one, immediately after realising my helmet mounted light was loose! I did much better on stages 2&3 so it’s a shame the timing issue didn’t happen on stage 1! These things happen though, and it didn’t spoil the event. I hope it’s going to be an annual thing.

I used to be area manager for a chain of academic bookshops, one of which was located at a university. I took a call one Sunday eve from our HR department who had been alerted to the fact that the store computer had been used to access, for want of a better term ‘granny porn’ websites. We narrowed it down to a 20 year old lad in the end, and he never turned up for his disciplinary hearing. The best of it was, the book shop had been open when he was accessing the website, and it opened out into the refectory. There was a good chance he had been sat behind the counter pleasuring himself in full view of his fellow students whilst they tucked into their lunch.

My my, we are a handsome bunch on STW if (most of)the pics in this thread are anything to go by.
