If you get away with it, you get away with it. If you get stopped by customs, they can do what the hell they like. They have the power to enter your house without a warrant.

It all depends how much a criminal record would ruin your day, against saving a few bucks.

Oh, and not out early today, but meeting the lads at 6 in the morning for a pre-work (for them :-) ) blast!! Short sleeves and dust – it will never last!!

Eyerideit – I have the same bikes, and my club visited Swinley a month ago. I chose my FS (a Heckler) and it was the right choice for me. There is nothing that couldn’t be ridden on a 100mm HT, but more fun banging the berms (how many berms????) and hitting the jumps/mini steeps on a LT full suss!!

Can that Bb shell take a ht2 bb? If so, I’d say get a 2nd hand deore/SLX crank from the classifieds.

All night rides lead to the pub down our way – the last 2 miles is all downhill, all the way to the bar :-))

These from eBay can be done in green.

    eBay link

eBay has loads of decals – I’ve just redone my Heckler.

Ive just posted in the WTD section – my DS pedal is fine, but my NDS (LH) pedal has self destructed. Does anyone have an unwanted left XTR trail pedal?

Whilst waiting is the perfect answer, I too am in a similar situation. I’m off to the Alps in 6 weeks, contacted Jedi a month ago for some training, only to discover he is completely booked up until sept/oct. So, I could either wait until I have killed myself on the alps, then go to Herts for reconstructive surgery in oct, or try and squeeze in somewhere for a quick session to help me out in the short term.

As it happens, I am in a similar area to the OP, and will be doing a few hours coaching at Quench cycles, Bedgebury.

If you ride muddy conditions don’t bother, unless you fancy replacing them a lot.

Yes, that definitely sounds like shock bushings. Might also be worth checking your bearings are not loose.

Is it just me, or were those 2 french guys utter knobs???

It wasn’t today, but a few weeks ago. I needed a cassette spacer to put a 9spd cassette on a 10spd hub. Didn’t have one, but a bottom bracket spacer fitted perfectly, and the chain shifts flawlessly!!

And, lo, having posted above that mine were great, I now have an issue. One pedal was gritty and not spinning freely, so I took it apart to service it. I put it all back together again, and now the pedal has lateral play. Everything seems tight, but the pedal moves along its axle by about 1cm. Any ideas?

Not sure, I notice it on one of my bikes sometimes. It seems to happen more with bigger rotors, so maybe a smaller one?

Whilst selling my 2 bikes recently, he contacted me about one “Very interested, blah, blah” He then failed to respond to emails. He was doing the same thing on about 4 bikes at the same time – a complete waste of my time. I wouldn’t buy off him.

You may find it is the rotor rubbing on the pads under hard cornering, as the wheel flexes.

How is driving a full bus harder? If they worked longer shifts, then yes.

A natural extension of what they are after is reduced pay for quiet journeys.

As for 5-6 mins for a coffee, it takes me 2 minutes to make 2 lattes for the missus and me. An espresso takes 15 seconds!! And no cleaning!

Convert, I think people try to use a capsule designed for a short espresso to make a long coffee. If I’m making a big coffee, I use 2 pods.

Johnhe, I couldnt agree more. I dont have the time to fettle a coffee grinder/machine in between work/kids/bikes/pub, so the Nespresso machine is fab.

I would put the “Do I need fresh ground coffee” question in the same bracket as “Do I need a handmade Ti bike with Kashima coated forks and colour coordinated floating rotors for my local trail centre”

KMC chains from Taiwan off ebay. There was a thread on here recently raving about them.

I have the one from decathlon – didnt get it from them though. It was £75 from a bike shop, so £49 is great value. I love it to bots, and use it all the time.

Works a treat – one old tube makes about 4!!

I had MK 2 on my old bike, I’m pretty sure 50psi was the max pressure, not the reccommended norm. I ran them tubeless at about 28psi from memory. Much draggier than my new Nobby Nic Evos for similar grip though. I still run the X-King pro tubeless for the summer though, and love it!

I think I hit that puddle yesterday – top advice from the local lads was never put your front wheel in a puddle, lift every time!!!!

I’ve just built up my C456.

    1. Headset was tight to fit. I don’t have a headset press, but 10 minutes cursing with a rubber mallet saw it done. I got the superstar headset with integrated top cup/external bottom cup – type 2 I think.

    2. I have fitted a SLX 2×10. The rings are slightly tighter than ideal to the chain stay, but not as bad as on my old Cannondale rz. Due to the flaring at the bottom of the seat tube, a hi clamp front mech is required. I couldn’t get it as low as I wanted, as the cage interfered with the chunky chainstays, but advice from the STW massive was that more clearance was acceptable/required on a double (was advised to fit it as if a 3rd ring was there) and it shifts perfectly.

    3. Cable routing are a little interesting!!!

    4. It works great for me with a Talas 2010 140/120/100 tapered fork. There are some issues with some tapered Rockshox apparently.

    5. My seat tube had a restriction, which turned out to be the rivet from the front mech cable boss. On advice from on one, I filed this down, and all is well!!

    6. It is VERY light :-))

I really wanted to like Crank Bros kit. It looks lovely, and feels quality. However after my CB skewer exploded on my front wheel, and one of my pals candy pedals seized solid after 2 months, I decided enough was enough.

Thanks Bolton Jon!!! Everybody had a great day out, with lots of tired bodies!! After all the tales of brake pad eating monsters at Swinley, I was pleasantly surprised to see mine relatively untouched last night!! No braking possible trying to keep up with you two on the downhills in the afternoon!

Definately love to arrange another day – hopefully a few of you can make it over to our patch for a return match, if our local bogs ever dry out!!!!

Leave it in 3×10 option, and set the hi/lo screws to limit travel as required!!
