Langland or Caswell. I have family in Mumbles and they’re always swimming in Langland.

I did something similar with a mixed group. From the top start with the blue on the left ‘Melted Welly’ I think and keep blue left all the way to the bottom. Next run from the top was the blue on the right, Sixtapod I think and keep blue right all the way to the bottom. If they’re feeling confident they could then try Terry’s Belly which is the hardest of blues and a definite step up.

We had a couple of small falls, mostly due to old bikes/dodgy brakes, but all in all everybody loved it.

You can also get untreated reclaimed railway sleepers. I bought a load to build a wall at £20 per 2.4m length without a sniff of creosote… The company I used who deliver are KGJ Price Railways

I regularly stop at the woodland cafe, and was there this morning. Make sure you get an extra shot of coffee as otherwise I think it’s too weak. They have a pair of peacocks and an egg was found in the peacock house for the first time. The excitement was tangible….. Fingers crossed for a baby peacock in the near future. I took a riding buddy from Finland there last week and he thought the cafe and the trails in the area was amazing and couldn’t believe what we’ve got so close to a major city. Especially the steepness!! The cafe is also an excellent place to take small kids, so much so that my boy always asks if he can stay there all day.

The Bikeshed is next door to the Stove shop and I think it’s them that are renting out the extra space.

I’ve been meaning to stop at Plan2Ride for a while so will stop there next time.

Our friends own Elm Grove Country House just outside Tenby in St Florence. It’s quite impressive and reasonably priced. Ideal for Southern Pembs; Barafundle Bay, St Govans, Fresh west are our favourites.

I did 5 days of riding with Lavatrax last year. Everyday was different with varying degrees of difficulty. I had a fantastic time and Came back a much better rider.

I never really had a proper job but did plan for a couple of months and had a loan from the bank. I then sold that business and used the money to set another one up. I also had another business as well that I set up. Like a previous comment these are/were small with low costs and only part time cash employees. You can go weeks/months with no income then loads come it at once, and I know some people couldn’t deal with the uncertainty. It works for me and I doubt that I now will ever get a ‘proper’ job.

I have a Norco Sight 140 upfront which I bought a month ago. All good so far and suits me fine. There is the Range I think which is slacker and has 160 travel

I built my shed/office with waney edge cladding out of European larch. It has the rough edge showing a la Swiss mountain chalet. Doesn’t have to be perfect and looks great. If I knew how to attach a picture I would….

Down a bottle of tonic minus the gin beforehand. The quinine in the tonic is meant to work wonders. I tried it a couple of times and it did work but whether this was down to the tonic or weather conditions, my fitness etc who knows. Only one way for you to find out….

We are doing exactly the same holiday in the opposite direction, Dubrovnik to Split. We have small kids in tow and will spend a week self catering in Milini, a week in a static Caravan on Hvar and one week in Supetar also self catering. We will not hire a car, so will be taking water taxis and ferries.

This will be our third time in Croatia, the previous times we stayed in Supetar on Brac, so I can only vouch for Supetar. It is very child friendly, more so than Bol (in my opinion), and there is a lovely sandy beach to the west of the town. And for a day trip you can take the ferry to Split.

We have a 6m opening and decided to go for bifolds with BristolBifold. We fitted them 4 years ago and never had any problems. The company recommended aluminium Easifold, more glass less frame, so we have 5 leafs (1.2m each) all opening the same way. The door itself is on the one side and can be used as a ‘proper door’.

The patio outside is at the same level as the kitchen with a slight fall away from the house. The builders were a bit skeptical and worried about water ingress and damp… so we did it anyway and installed acco drains along the length of the doors to ensure no water coming into the house. Again never had problems.

They’re amazing and everybody loves them… Go For it

You could drive to the outskirts and catch the train in. Radyr or Taffs Well station is just off the M4 and have regular trains for the 15min journey to Central.

I agree with Nick. Head to FOD then Cwmcarn, BPW, Afan and once you’ve had enough of the trail centres buy a map and cycle the Beacons. If you are staying around Cardiff there are also excellent trails around Caerphilly.
