wow they look great kit… had to look up the word braw though, found a few different meanings:

    braw (brô)
    adj. braw·er, braw·est Scots
    1. Fine; splendid.
    2. Dressed in a fine or showy manner.

Adj. 1. braw – brightly colored and showy; "girls decked out in brave new dresses"; "brave banners flying"; "`braw' is a Scottish word"; "a dress a bit too gay for her years"; "birds with gay plumage"

hope you mean the first

santa cruz have some nice ones for sure… but if you want to put 140mm forks on an alu hardtail frame… most of the big brands seem to avoid this market… but i guess cove are quite mainstream now in the uk…

On another note, you say the frame was damaged and got a weld to fix it?

I know someone with a cracked weld on a ti frame and would love to know if it is fixable, the weld cracked is between the top and seat tube…

    dano

wow, all those over sized tubes and swingarms… huge welds and chunky BB… and then they have a tiny seat tube with a front mech clamped onto it, and this has all the force through it!!! seems a weak point…

As tim said, chasing a thread is only cleaning out an existing thread… it takes away tiny spurs or lumps of the metal away to efectively clean the thread… they use a cutting fluid to ease this, it will not damage the tool…

My guess is that the shop does not have the park tool required, or that the mechanic in on that day was too busy or not confident enough to do it…

they would not hide other problems from you as they would rather show them and try to sell you another frame…

i got a brand new slx chainset, ridden once, but the shop had not fitted the pedal correctly and the thread was damaged… i had to buy an xt to replace( as was the same cost as slx) i will sell the chainset with all 3 rings on it for £35 if anyone wants it?

TJ, you ask if medics are crash investigators? yes they are actually. a huge amount of evidence is gathered by medics in the case of crash investigation. much of which can be used by the police, such as findings from a & e and from the pathologist, all this evidence is gathered by the crash investigatins team.

The science is that helmets do protect your head from impacts. They spread the load of the force. They also help from smaller hits like on low branches.
You can find an increase in neck injuries from wearing a helmet though, especially full face or motorbike helmets. They put a lot of stress on the neck, where the force from an impact is concentrated at the base of the helmet. Lots of motorcyclists suffer from broken necks.
