Wish I had shopped around, driving my van to morzine as soon as we got to Dover I got the same clunking sounds from engine when not in gear.knew something was wrong but had no option but to carry on with holiday and sort when get back.My usual mechanic said sounds like dual mass, and recommend me a place to get it sorted. They had good reviews.1200 quid I was charged yesterday for flywheel and clutch on a 11plate expert.Gutted, definitely should have shopped around so lesson learned.
dannymite1981Free MemberYep only one campsite comes up online,it’ll be camping le frene.Thats if it’s not fully booked?
1dannymite1981Free MemberGreat fight, referee stopped what would have been a spectacular knockout.Rightly so though I think as that could have been dangerous. So glad usyk won, hope he retires know.
dannymite1981Free MemberThanks for advice as given me lots more to think about and ask consultant.👍👍
dannymite1981Free MemberBricklayer here,I’ve been pretty much part time since early November due to the wettest 12 months I can remember.Which for me ain’t such a bad thing as renovating my house 😉
dannymite1981Free MemberWe don’t have a cow,we have a bull.
I’ll brush my teeth!
dannymite1981Free MemberLooks as though crypto market is going bonkers again, any one any idea why as can’t really find much info on it,and as it’s still fairly useless i think anyway I just don’t understand why it’s had this run in last month or so.
dannymite1981Free MemberI’m a bricklayer based in Sheffield, construction seems definitely to be slowing down bit similar to last recession where 12months before it was classed as a recession construction was already in one.Getting odd calls off builders I’ve not spoken to for years asking if I know of anyone with work around. It doesn’t seem desperate at the moment but again this is similar to what happened back in 07/08 so can see things getting worse.Fingers crossed I’m hugely wrong though 🤞
1dannymite1981Free MemberCheers, tennis shoes.
Just checked using that calculator and apparently I don’t need to pay it.Which is a big relief!!👍
dannymite1981Free MemberGets a little more confusing,
I ended up phoning stamp duty helpline HMRC.After being on hold for a hour finally got through to someone.I explained I have a BTL which I’m keeping, and sold my flat 6 months ago which I lived in but now buying another house to live in.She has said that the house is not eligible for stamp duty, even though it will be a second property as it is my residence and under 250000.She sent me a email with a link to government stamp duty details that says this.My solicitor says that there system is connected to hmrc and they just tick boxes to do with the new property and that automatically works out stamp duty for them.I showed him the email and he’s as confused as I am because he say what the stamp duty helpline lady told me and has sent me in a link is saying that I’m not eligible.I don’t know how to attach a link on here but it says this -hmrc internal manual SDLT condition D.
dannymite1981Free MemberI sold my flat (main residence )6 months ago.I looked on internet and Zoopla and couple of other sites state that if I’m purchasing my new main residence I’m not liable for the 3percent surcharge, even though I have a buy to let.🤷Very confused now as thought this was what I’m paying solicitors for,to confirm if I need to pay it or not.
3dannymite1981Free MemberWell made it into work today, and to be honest feel a lot better,as being around people has helped.Managed to get a few hours sleep last night but felt bit groggy this morning and nearly didn’t go in.Glad I did, still have the fear of what tonight will bring though as I did have to take the zopiclone and diazepam as anxiety was building up.All comments above really appreciated, hopefully I’m calming down now,I still feel spaced out but again hopefully a good sleep will sort that.Ive obviously got long standing issues I need to address as this has happened before,so will seek out help.
2dannymite1981Free MemberI think the term the doctor used was a acute stress episode. The doctor did mention anti depressants and said that I didn’t need them just yet as he was more concerned about me getting some sleep.Im not discounting them though after I get over this.👍
6dannymite1981Free MemberWow, wasn’t expecting so many helpful replies so soon,so very much appreciated. The ben and Jerry’s does sound tempting!
I went out for a few drinks with couple of mates Friday and Saturday night which did take my mind off things and I did manage a couple of hours sleep each of those nights I did that, but obviously I don’t want to go down the route of drinking to get me through this as I know that could end in grim fashion. Some really good advice up there.I have phoned and texted a therapist nearby but no reply as yet so will try another one tomorrow as I definitely need someone to chat in depth to about the relationship as I think that could be the root cause.I was on a dosage of sertraline a long time ago which I took for a few months at least, and can’t remember exactly but I think I stopped taking them due to not feeling well on them.Im a tinnitus sufferer so bbc sounds has been my go to for so many years now.It does help definitely but over the last few days it will only take my mind off things briefly.Again appreciate the help,as it is good to know I’m not on my own regarding this sort of condition.👍
dannymite1981Free MemberNever really listened to Quotsa until last few weeks.Properly blown away by their set a Glastonbury(watched on iPlayer),so just got a ticket to see them in November at Manchester.
dannymite1981Free MemberI’d say no need to get a engineer, use the money towards a recommended bricklayer. He would rebuild the pillars solid, put pad stones under lintel either side.Lintel bearing of 150mm minimum either side would be enough.225mm deep lintel of either concrete,or steel rsj, would easily be strong enough to take load bearing wall for that span if it is a load bearing wall.
1dannymite1981Free MemberAre you talking about my mate Daz? Legendary for this, yesterday went saddle worth, derailleur bent after 20 minutes then flat tire so 40 minute push back to car.Could have chucked inner tube in but both couldn’t be arsed at that point.Hes turned up for group rides without, front wheel, axle multiple times.Top guy though 👍
dannymite1981Free MemberRoute94 feat Jesse glynne.Something along the lines of-up above raised by a porcupine! They could be the actual lyrics as I’ve not checked,I doubt it though 🤔
dannymite1981Free MemberMynydd mawar,we stayed there,it’s right on the top of the peninsula, loads of space.Cant remember how close pub or shop was but must have been within a 30 minute walk I guess as that’s one of our needs most camping trips.Views great and quiet.Cant remember the mountain biking, but reckon probably have to drive for proper riding. But great campsite.
dannymite1981Free MemberGr221 Mallorca, steady 4-8hrs a day walking ,stopped in refuges along the way so didn’t nead much gear, and broke it up by having a beach day in soller and pollenca. Not big amounts of elevation,so pretty good as a beginner hike.
dannymite1981Free MemberJust ordered one as my moto G5 battery is on its way out.Cost me 299 at checkout, said that I’d get 110 trade in.When do I do the trade in and get the money back,do I do it when I receive the pixel 6a and serial number?John Lewis online
Cheersdannymite1981Free MemberGutted for them and all involved in running revs.Such a awesome place to ride and be for a weekend, all those involved were sound people.Hope insured for this kind of thing and if so wonder what the chance is of starting a new place up.
dannymite1981Free MemberNew episode that bad?I’ve not watched latest episode but if it wasn’t for the hype and the fact I loved the LOTR films I’d have not bothered watching anymore after the first 30mins of the first episode.
dannymite1981Free MemberRoxy bikes, callor millor area. They were pretty good, great scenery, decent full suss bike and good value. It was a group ride so a mix of people so not on the narly side.Done loads of hiking around soller, valldemossa area and the trails look great for more steep riding.Theres a bike hire place in soller, and think they do maps too, also some routes on trailforks for around that area.Biking will be what I’m doing next time I head there.
dannymite1981Free MemberJust done the four passes route Saturday just gone, where I read about it,it said 4hrs ish and it took me and a mate 6 1/2.Was good though if don’t mind carrying bike up 3 of the 4 big climbs.Speaking to some lads on four passes they did skiddaw from Keswick,at the top dropped down left on a steep scree slope then went right on a bit of a ridge gradually dropping you into woods at braithwaite lake. They said that was great,I’ve walked up the way they went down and remember thinking it would be awesome on a bike.
dannymite1981Free MemberSecond the post above, get early train to finale which is great, uplifts generally start before 10am I think.Shouldnt be a problem finding a hire place on Google, hire shops do good bikes out there for in region of 50 euros a day.
dannymite1981Free MemberGot a bulkhead,so for the minute will go with ratchet straps for sliding doors and get a padlock for rear, and not leave a bike in it again.Fair bit of advice so cheers for that too 👍
dannymite1981Free MemberYep stunned and gutted at how easy they are to get into, there was a video that went viral a few years ago,guy had his expert broken into and did a video of him locking his van then just pulling on side door hard with his hands and all doors unlocking. Also a few videos of people putting a balloon type thing in gap and pumping it up and it all unlocks same way.Gutted for anyone that gets robbed, won’t be leaving a bike in it again that’s for sure, but still like to have bits of kit in.
dannymite1981Free MemberPotato alley possibly better if going up rowlee farm.Straight on at hope cross(right takes you down beast)for roughly 15mins,then down potato alley, turn right at bottom follow to snake pass then straight ahead.Either way is good 👍

dannymite1981Free MemberBest mountaineering documentary I’ve watched for a while, would have thought it would have gained more publicity than it has for achieving what he and his team did. Also after descending from Annapurna having to go back up to rescue a climber from another team, then on another mountain trying to save another.
dannymite1981Free MemberLoads of help here so cheers, and when we do go I’ll take a look at this thread!!
Reckon we might have to put it on hold again though,as I didn’t realize that UK citizens have to quarantine in Italy.(I may have this wrong and hope so).👍dannymite1981Free MemberLooks like it’s all going a bit t..s up at the moment crypto value wise.I was 2500 up about two months back now about 6 hundred down.Do I cut my losses now.My original investment was 2500
dannymite1981Free MemberCheers for all the replys as very helpful.I think I will just stick it out with nio in the hope that I’ll get my money back in a year or two, guardian piece talks of them expanding into europe later this year so hopefully share price will improve.I think as a few of you have said I’ll start putting some savings into a fund, again I’ve got no idea which one so if anyone has any suggestions that would be great.I think medium risk, with a minimum average return of 5percent👍
dannymite1981Free MemberIt is money I can afford to lose but still gutted.I know it doesn’t sell anywhere near the amount of cars as any of the major car companies, but then Tesla is valued more than the largest 6 car companies in the world combined,so yeah I suppose it was a risk as I thought it could in a few years be a major ev player. But yep massively overvalued more than likely at the minute.
dannymite1981Free MemberVolkswagen golf,t reg so 98 model I think.I bought it in 05 I think. From a vw dealer in sheffield(ecclesall rd).I paid 4500 and thought it was great for about 6 months, every mot it failed on quite a bit of stuff and engine cut out every now and again randomly.About 3 years down the line the engine cutting out was getting bad,as in for my working commute which was sheffield to leeds at the time it was cutting out on the m1 probably 2-3 times a day,but as I was free rolling on inside lane and turning engine over it would start up again before getting to a standstill.i put up with this for ages as I was young and scint. My car sharing workmates didn’t,and found it a bit scary at times!!
I bought it with about 60000 on the clock, and when I took it for it’s last mot had done about 100000.we were taking bets how much to go through mot, generally coming in at around the 400 mark.Mechanic phoned me,and basically said that they had to stop the test because of the amount of burning oil fumes, was a complete write off,he also said it had been clocked and that all engine warning had been disconnected. When I got back in it was warning light central. With two weeks left on mot it went to we buy any car.
