Got a Lush Samba thats been ridden to distruction (springs warped, trucks cracked and the deck too) only really use it to punt round town now. Been wanting to get an Orignal board for a while now and will when I can spare the cash. Flat land is plenty of fun and multi-stori carparks can make a good hill substitute.

I’m in the same boat as you grum read the books after enjoying the first series, I’m enjoying the second series but finding changes frustrating so enjoyment is lessened. Most of the changes appear to be about scaling everything back to match the budget which is fair enough but can lead to characters coming across looking stupid.

Alabama Shakes is good got a heads up from a workmate.

Discovering new music is ace like checking out gigs for bands that are trying to break though always ace when someone you saw playing a small venue makes it. Saw Frank Turner a few years back at the railway and a few other local gigs awesome now he’s cracked it. Here’s a remix of Frank by his mate (and mine) |’bleiki|

Chris is making so great electronica and is awesome live got some crazy visuals.

To be fair to the BBC the were just recycling a quote provided by Dr Karl Bates

“Those [simulated] muscles closed the jaw as they would in life and… we measured the force when the teeth hit each other,” Dr Bates explained to BBC Nature.

“The maximum forces we found – up at the [back] teeth – were between 30,000 and 60,000 Newtons,” he said.

“That’s equivalent to a medium-sized elephant sitting on you.”

Can’t guarantee it’ll make a massive difference but for the price it’s worth a punt.

    From wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mandarin_orange

“Canned mandarin segments are peeled to remove the white pith prior to canning; otherwise, they turn bitter. Segments are peeled using a chemical process. First, the segments are scalded in hot water to loosen the skin; then they are bathed in a lye solution which digests the albedo and membranes. Finally, the segments undergo several rinses in plain water.”

Hey Cougar just quoting wiki. 🙂

Though further wiki work reveals that there was a New York Giants baseball franchise though they moved to San Fransico after 1957 season, similarly Brooklyn Dodgers moved to LA at the same time.

She’s out of order no doubt but I’d not want to go.

She pays for tickets and owes you a weekend of watching the kids. Take your wife away for a weekend?

I really wouldn’t want to be any where near the drunken mess that the gig will be.

Not played it yet but LA Noire looks good. There is some action but the focus is detective work.

    Charlie Brooker on LA Noire
“And then there’s LA Noire, the James Ellroy-inspired crime drama, which has caused a stir, and rightly so, with its firm focus on narrative and staggering new facial animation technology. I’m a massive dweeb who keeps up with the latest gaming developments, and even I was astounded at what they’ve pulled off here. You’re watching actors give genuine performances – within something that is still defiantly and unapologetically a video game. The lead character is played by Aaron Staton, AKA Ken Cosgrove from Mad Men – and is instantly recognisable, not just from his likeness, but also his facial mannerisms. Amusingly, plenty of his fellow Mad Men cast members also show up throughout the game (as well as faces familiar from shows such as Heroes and Fringe), reinforcing the overall feel of the game – which is like working your way through a hard-nosed HBO police procedural miniseries set in Los Angeles in the 1940s. If you’ve never played a game, or you think you hate them – but my description sounds vaguely appealing, give it a spin. Just watch someone else play it for a while if you like. I guarantee you’ll be surprised.”
